Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription – “Fall Back” – September 2016 – Review and Giveaway

Be careful and don’t blink or you may miss it – fall has arrived!

With the arrival of fall also comes with cooler days, cooler nights and time changes. The time change has always been something that I do not adjust well to. Twice a year we are either “springing” forward or “falling” back. When I was young I would use this as excuse to why I was either running late or early, depending on the desired responses.

Now that I am older and clocks tend to adjust on their own my excuses are less and less valid. Despite my mixed feelings, fall has arrived and when I received the September Cat Lady Box and saw the theme of “Fall Back” those memories returned. Consistently each month is “purrfectly” curated and each month is better than the last.

Of all the things that I have to do as an adult, grocery shopping is the one I enjoy. There is something calming about the routine in pushing the cart up and down the aisle. There is almost an adventure in seeing the items on sale and a joy at the end seeing the total drop down as those sale items become savings.

Despite the relaxation that I feel while shopping there are days that I know what I want, I know what is one sale and my only goal is to get in and out of the store.

Since our store was recently remodeled and as this transformation became complete I began seeing signage for a new service called Ralphs ClickList.

The Cat Kit: The Summer Kit – August 2016 Review

Summer is a constant “on the go” time, if it is not the beach it is amusement parks, family gatherings and even overnight excursions. Many times with all this travel the cats are left and home, and while out of sight, they are not out of mind.

I am a cat lady and proud of it and even when we travel our cats are never far from our thoughts. I love to have cat items sprinkled throughout my daily life. I have a cat wallet that sits beside a cat umbrella in a cat bag. My girl Maggee is also my background on my phone as well as hundreds of photos on my phone.

Since I love getting cat related items as much as my cats enjoy getting toys, I was excited to be given the opportunity to review The Cat Kit, The Cat Kit is a filled with 7 adorable items for cat and human and really is “purrfect” for any cat lover.

When I think of glamour, I think old Hollywood, and at times the glitz and ritz. There are times when I look at my cats I am reminded that glamour is not only external but an internal quality as well.

For a person or cat to have a glamour about them can go much further than skin (or fur) deep. Glamour is in the way a person or animal carries themselves, or how they react in an otherwise stressful moment. Glamour is a response to those we do not know, and despite understanding them, we respect them.

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription – “Another Day in Purradise” – July 2016 – Review and Giveaway

Many people are under the belief that I live in paradise, or at least what could be considered paradise – San Diego, California.

I feel differently, I think that the real paradise is in a world with cats and all they can teach us. Cats teach us the art of relaxation and not caring about the world outside their worlds. Cats teach us that kindness is rewarded and anger is met with swats and growls. Cats are able to brush off grudges, and live in peace with most other cats. Cats do not care about fur colors, or if a cat came from a shelter or not, they care about the here and now.

When you take in the cat perspective it is easy to see their idea of paradise is a little more basic than ours. When I discovered that this months Cat Lady Box theme celebrates your own idea of paradise or as the cats call it “Another Day in Purradise”. As regular readers will know I love a good craft project. The other thing that I love is to spend the time making a card and sending it to a loved one to let them know I am thinking of them.

A couple of years ago I married into a large family that happens to live locally. What this means is that there is a constant need and desire to know everybody’s names, spouse names and most importantly, which child belongs to which cousin. I am going to be honest and say that this was almost a struggle to learn in the beginning and many times I verified the familial connection with my husband.

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – “Pampurr” Yourself – June 2016

I love watching my kittens and their habits. I love to watch them engage in the rituals that make them the magical animals that they are.

One of my favorite things to watch is the grooming rituals. There are times that Maggee will groom herself, and her brother Murfee. I love to watch how Murfee just laps up the attention even to the point to sometimes getting into the grooming session with a zen like expression. I credit this to Maggee’s previous life as a mommy, she has an instinct to groom and love another animal. I can sit and watch this for an hour without pause, and sometimes my stare causes them pause, which makes me divert my stare.

It was announced that this months Cat Lady Box would have a spa theme I thought it appropriate since cats and pampering go hand in paw. They delivered with a theme called “Pampurr Yourself”. As I have mentioned before so I hate to be redundant but to say that each box is “pawsome” is underselling it. Each month is better than the last and you can see previous reviews here.

Each month the exterior comes emblazed with the logo in black and is a proud announcement of your Cat Lady status to all the box encounters on its journey. Once the box is open, you are greeted with a black tissue with a sticker enclosing everything in the box from hand and paws alike. The box is packaged well, and there is space enough that items do not get smooshed and smashed together.

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – May/Cat Mom’s Day 2016

While I have not had the best history with mothers in my life, I can see the love and see how a mothers love is irreplaceable. Due to my shaky history with my own mother I think at times i might over compensate with Maggee and Murfee.

Let me explain a little further to bring some clarity. I was raised from a young age by my father and while I learned many valuable lessons, I did miss my mother. It was made clear early on that my mother wanted nothing to do with me, and while this was hurtful, it ended up being for the best. I did not have an example of a mother, so I base my experience on snippets of mom’s i have seen my life.

At times I think this has worked well, and it really is a broad example base. Recently Jason has made comments and dropped words such as “helicopter” and “smother and mother”. I think during this time of year, as much as I love the moms in my life, I overcompensate with my two cats. Lucky for me they seem to love the love!

It was announced that this months Cat Lady Box would have a “Mothers” theme, and they delivered. To say that each box is “pawsome” is an understatement. Each month is better than the last, (see previous reviews here). The box exterior is printed with the logo in black and is almost a proud announcement of your Cat Lady status. Stampin’ Up – Enjoy the Little Things – Review and Giveaway

There have been few things that I like as much as a craft kit. I love the idea that in one package I can receive everything I need to complete a project.

The best kits, in my opinion, give a good set of instructions, are not overly complicated, include all material needed to complete the project per the instructions. A good kit can make you forget your day and get you lost in your project. I find a project that has everything I need allows me to enjoy myself and not make me wonder if I am missing a important element.

While I was reviewing the latest Stampin’ Up catalog, and I came across the Enjoy the Little Things Project Kit. The thing I loved about this kit was the positive messages that each project conveys.
