Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription – “Glamour Puss” – August 2016 – Review and Giveaway
When I think of glamour, I think old Hollywood, and at times the glitz and ritz. There are times when I look at my cats I am reminded that glamour is not only external but an internal quality as well.
For a person or cat to have a glamour about them can go much further than skin (or fur) deep. Glamour is in the way a person or animal carries themselves, or how they react in an otherwise stressful moment. Glamour is a response to those we do not know, and despite understanding them, we respect them.
The definition of glamour that I live by applies to cat or humans and when I saw this months Cat Lady Box theme celebrates glamour with the wonderful theme of “Glamour Puss”. Each month is “purrfectly” curated and each month is better than the last. Click here to see previous reviews.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of CatLadyBox.com
The “Glamour Puss” theme contained the following:
Absolutely Meowvelous Shirt – CatLadyBox Exclusive: When I first tried this shirt on the fit reminded me of a shirt from the 80’s workout video. This is a soft black v-neck flowy-style shirt that is made in the USA (Florida). When I do was this I will follow the recommendation to dry laying flat.
Glamour Puss Sunglasses – CatLadyBox Exclusive: Since it is summer the one thing I have seen in boxes are sunglasses. Of all the pairs I have received these are some of my favorites. These have a distinct “cat-eye” feel and are comfortable to wear. These come with their own case and a cloth to keep them clean. These are also presented in a nice box if these are a gift.
Spectra Fabulous Scarf – CatLadyBox Exclusive: I loved this scarf from the moment I saw it. A couple of months ago Cat Lady Box had an umbrella by the same artist, and I LOVE IT, so I was thrilled to see another item from Asra Rae included. This is so cute and comes in a branded Cat Lady Box box for easy storage or gift giving.
*CAT TOYS* Glamour Puss Sunglasses Toy and Catnip Meowlympic Torch Toy: I would stake a bet that the cats know the look of the boxes that come in because each month they sniff and snort this one until I open it. The reason that each month there are cat treats as well as human treats included in the box. This month was cute crinkle sunglasses and a torch with feathers. Needless to say both of these were a hit.
Cat Lady Featured Artist – Toni Carbone: This months Cat Lady Artist Toni Carbone. Included in each months box is a postcard featuring a new cat print, and each month is different from the previous months.
When you get a CatLadyBox each month the mailman knows your cat lady status, since the box comes branded with the Cat Lady Box logo. When the box is opened you are greeted with a black tissue with a sticker enclosing everything in the box from hand and paws alike. The box is packaged well, and there is space enough that items do not get smooshed and smashed together.
As most of these items are made special for CatLadyBox it is hard, if not impossible, to locate them outside the monthly box subscription. If I was able to locate the items, then I have included the links for you to possibly purchase them without a box subscription.
As time passes, these boxes really do get better with time. Each month there are items that are exclusive to the box and it’s subscribers. As I have stated, the box gains momentum each month and with that exclusivity becomes the normal each month. If I were you, I would subscribe and join and get some exclusive cat items for your collection.
As an added bonus to the cat community that each month 5% of profits go to cat rescues. Cat Lady Box also gives subscribers an opportunity to nominate an organization to be a beneficiary of Cat Lady Boxes generosity.
Also available are 1 month gift subscriptions, perfect for a cute and unique gift!

My kids helped name my 4 cats they are 19 to 4 years old they are our fur babies
My son actually picked our cat’s name.
All 6 of my cats have first and middle names. My old man cat Tater is Rush Lil Puddi’n Tater we ended up calling him Tater. My Sassy cat Booble started out at Katniss Iris but some how ended up being called Booble (Boo-Bull) We also have Michonne Dixon after the Walking Dead when we got her she was so tiny and she came in and showed the other two who was boss. Clementine Lee is my quirky cat that lives in a world of her own. Khaleesi Aria after Game of Thrones and our newest fuzz ball is Punkin Fernando he is just a ball of orange fluff.
Mitten’s was easy he had big white paws with extra toes.
My cat’s name is Gray Boy. We initlally didn’t want to get too attached to him because he was a stray, so we just called him Gray Boy, but then he moved into our house (and our hearts!)
I named my cat Samsonite El Gato at first, then I started to learn Italian so I changed it to the Italian Samsonite Il Gato.
Quite a big difference there aye? 😀
When I first adopted Honey, he actually reached out to me in his pen. He was a little black kitten and folks are so small minded. I didn’t hesitate. I kept saying “aaaaaawwww honey” and Honey just stuck.
From a tv show; Pinky
my cats name is stash because she is a tuxedo…with a mu-stash…lol
I have two cats, Rudy and Patton.
My cat’s name is Boots because it looks like he has little boots on his paws
My two kitties are littermates, a very large male named Petunia, and a very small female named Lily. Petunia is well suited to his name, he’s a big dorky galoof who isn’t very macho at all. Lily is very willful, sneaky, and adventurous, sometimes I think she needed more of a powerhouse name.
Our 2 actually went through multiple name changes when the came home and were housed in our dogs extra large kennel for precaution for them and our dog Beauty and other cat at that time Trixie. They were Thing 1 and Thing 2, both were Sassy at one point (I think you can guess why.) Finally, in a moment of weakness they got the names Precious and Angel. Being kittens they than lived down to those names fast. They fit both of them perfectly again at the age of 13.
I named one of my cats Zen because I like meditating and all things Zen but she is actually the opposite of Zen. She has some obsessive grooming habits. My other kitty I named Clover because 4 leaf clovers are lucky and we were lucky to find each other!
I have 3 females. Samantha(Sammy, I’m a huge Sammy Hagar Fan) China, (China Cat Sunflower, A Grateful Dead song…Deadhead family..lol) and Lily, named for my favorite flower.

My son’s cats are Hunter and Johnny!
I have 8 fur babies. Peep was named for being a noisy kitten. She’s still very vocal to this day! Chubba was named for his size, and is still our largest cat. Floppy was named because he used to flop on his back to eat…so cute! Bobo was named because her purring sounded like a motorboat. Wigga was originally named Biggy, but it somehow changed to Wigga from calling him Biggy Wiggy. Hammy looked like a long-haired hamster as a kitten. And Minnie got her name because my girls thought she looked like Minnie Mouse. Lol. Last, but not least, Flower, was named because she’s beautiful and sweet!
My cat’s name is Sam.He was named by my 7 year old grandson.
My cat’s name is Bolto.
I come from a cat family. There was first Missy, then Tippy and our last one was Magic.

Ozzy is the old man he was found in a ditch at 3 weeks old and his Momma was dead. I dont recall how he got the name. Spyder because when he was younger he could jump like a spider and he is the color of cobwebs, Minni because she looks like a mini Oz, Kissa was named 7 at first, because she was the 7th in a litter of ferals, but I was watching some show, and thats the word for cat, Angus because well he looks like a Gus. He was a feral kitten too and he is s goof.
My cat was adopted from a friend and already had her name: Gigi.
Thanks for the contest.
Named mine Miss Kitty. Thank you for the giveaway.
I only have one cat and my husband named him after family member he honored that has passed.
I kept the name that my cat had at the animal shelter. She was considered a ‘senior” cat. She was only 6. Took her to the petting room, and my daughter ( 31 ), wanted her to come to her. OOps, nope sorry..walked right passed her and hopped in my lap..she picked me..so i brought her home that very day. Oh, her name is BELLA. She is a diva, too. lol
My cat Parker was already named when I adopted him and it suits him perfectly so I didn’t change it!
My cats name is Sheba and name her after the cat food
I have a rescue cat named Remi. His full name is Sir Remington the 3rd. Lol
Callie was my grandmother’s cat who came to live with us when my daughter was 2 and she felt like she couldn’t take care of her anymore (a year later I would move my grandmother in with us as well…) and then we got Kitten who was named by my then 3 year old and 7 years later that’s still his name.
