Ralphs ClickList Review + Gift Card Giveaway

Ralphs OutsideOf all the things that I have to do as an adult, grocery shopping is the one I enjoy. There is something calming about the routine in pushing the cart up and down the aisle. There is almost an adventure in seeing the items on sale and a joy at the end seeing the total drop down as those sale items become savings.

Despite the relaxation that I feel while shopping there are days that I know what I want, I know what is one sale and my only goal is to get in and out of the store.

Since our store was recently remodeled and as this transformation became complete I began seeing signage for a new service called Ralphs ClickList.

As it turns out we are the first store in California to feature this service. I was eager to try it out since it is as simple as reserving a time, shopping online and then just picking the groceries up, all without leaving my car.

Click List Login ScreenI logged on the website and was immediately taken to a screen that summarized my previous purchases as well as suggestions for the purchase I was going to make.

1st screenI started the process the night before and as Jason and I sat in our living room and perused the Ralphs website for the groceries we would be needing for the next couple days. When you have your club card tied to your online account, which is free to set-up, it remembers and knows prior purchases.

p 4As we perused the site the thing I noticed was that the sale prices are applicable online (denoted by the highlighted yellow), which made me happy, no additional costs!

I chose about 15 items, including some fruit, ice cream, and some staples such as water and milk. I had a second opportunity to verify my order was correct and that the pick-up time was correct.

In order to reserve your time for grocery pickup you do need to give them to payment card you plan to use for the purchase, although the final amount is not charged until you pickup your groceries the next day.

I chose an early morning pickup (9:00-10:00) and arrived at about 9:45. When I got to the store it was clear where to park, since there is reserved special spots for users of the service. I dialed the number and gave them my name. The response was simple and friendly, and most of all easy.

Clicklist ParkingWhile I was waiting I noticed these otherwise branded double doors open with a cart being pulled behind. As the cart headed towards my direction I realized this was my order. I was warmly greeted by the Ralphs employee, and I exited my car, although there is no need to, they will load your groceries for you.

How it arrives to carThe first thing she did was alert me to a couple of items that they had to substitute, which were signified by white bags. I was happy with the substitutions and despite the substituted items being a higher price, they price matched to the cost of the items I should have received.

The CheckOut SystemThe checkout system is easy, as they scan the items in the store and then put a “hold” on the transaction. Since there is a need to login to create your ClickList, you can add your club card to your account, and still benefit from those lower prices.

Jennifer signing for the final purchaseI signed for my order, pleased that after sales and adjustments to my order my bill was about $7.50 less than I expected. The signature was easy and entailed me signing on-screen and as a bonus the associate verified I was the person who was to receive the groceries and my name was on the credit card.

Cart to carI assisted the associate in loading my groceries, but again, this is not needed since the idea is that you never have to leave your car.

Fruit SelectionI was curious about the fruit quality I would receive since I was leaving this decision to the person who was choosing my groceries. I was pleased with the color of the bananas and the peaches were not bruised, and were not to soft, they have some ripening time.

Overall I loved this service, and if you are like us and know what you want and want to save some time, this is perfect service. There are still going to be times that I want to walk the aisles and hear the carts wheels, but for the days I don’t, I love that this is option.

At this time this service is only available at the Ralphs Poinsettia Village at 7140 Avenida Encinas, Carlsbad, CA, although the plan is launch this in 12 stores by the end of 2016.

Your first 3 ClickList Fees are free, and $6.95 thereafter!!

I am definitely a fan of grocery shopping – I’m a bargain hunter and will go to at least 3 stores each time I shop to get the best deals.

I don’t mind going to the grocery store so much now that they put a mute button on the self-checkout.

I LOVE shopping! I really, really take my time (so I always have to shop by myself). I love seeing what new products have popped up, the seasonal section & finding hidden deals!

I like it when it goes smoothly. Most of the time it’s waiting too long in line, not finding sale items in stock and having to go back to correct all the over-charged items on the receipts.

I do love grocery shopping! I even will visit grocery stores when I travel, it’s fun to see what interesting local products they might have.
And my grocery store confession: one of my favorite things is snooping and looking at other peoples baskets and getting interesting dinner ideas. 🙂

I don’t care a lot for shopping – don’t like the long lines.

I dislike being unorganized, or uncertain of where my coupons are, or rushing to use them before they expire.

I’m a fan of grocery shopping when I can get good deals. My least favorite thing is waiting in long lines.
