Stampin’ Up – Watercolor Wishes Card Kit – Review and Giveaway
As regular readers will know I love a good craft project. The other thing that I love is to spend the time making a card and sending it to a loved one to let them know I am thinking of them.
A couple of years ago I married into a large family that happens to live locally. What this means is that there is a constant need and desire to know everybody’s names, spouse names and most importantly, which child belongs to which cousin. I am going to be honest and say that this was almost a struggle to learn in the beginning and many times I verified the familial connection with my husband.
Since the family is so large, there is always a birthday, anniversary or other note-worthy event which necessitates many cards being sent throughout the year. When I was looking through the latest Stampin’ Up catalog, and I came across the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of My Paper Pumpkin/Stamping Up, but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
This Watercolor Wishes Card Kit allows you to make 20 cards and each has a wonderful watercolor tone to it. The colors are subtle yet colorful, and will brighten any occasion.
The following items are included in the kit:
* 20 cards total – Folded card sizes: 4″ x 4″, 3-1/2″ x 5″, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (10.2 x 10.2 cm, 8.9 x 12.7 cm, 10.8 x 14 cm) with matching envelopes
* 12-piece photopolymer stamp set
* 20 card bases
* Die-cut accents
* Cardstock flag stickers
* Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin’ Spots
*Washi tape
* Giftable Kraft box
* 50 sequins
* Wood die cuts
* Stampin’ Dimensionals
*Acrylic stamp block
Since this is a complete project kit the stamps needed are included with the kit. A selection of 12 photo-polymer stamps that will include messages from celebration, congratulations and a heart or two. This kit includes a clear block to place the stamps on, and I can tell you that this makes the stamping A LOT easier. To make clean-up easy I just used baby wipes to clean the surface of the stamp and that seemed to clean them of all residual ink.
Also included are two Stampin’ Spot colors in Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder. These small stamps are perfect for inking the enclosed stamps, and are colors that coordinate very well with each other. The inks are fast drying, and permanent which is acid free. These also can be re-inked with Archival Stampin’ Ink Refills.
While the glue is not included, I would recommend a Fine Tip Glue Pen. If you are a card maker or paper crafter, you HAVE to purchase one of these. The precise nature of this can not be matched.
This does come with a pamphlet, that are less instructional and more number based. Each card is has a number code that coordinates to an action. The kit rely’s that the creator can create an image like they show. I was able to successfully recreate the cards and despite my confidence I did second guess myself once or twice.
Overall this is an easy project to complete. I would advice that if you are looking for a quick easy project this is the perfect kit for you. Each card was simple to recreate and did not take long to create, yet turned out like I bought it in a store.
I can honestly say it has been 7 years and I am still learning everyone – at least I have nice occasional appropriate cards to send no matter the occasion. If you want a cute kit, that comes with everything you want, then I would recommend the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit!!
