BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review – May 2016 Box

BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review and Book Giveaway – May 2016 Box

May 2016 Box ContentsAs we embark in this election year it is becoming clear that the country is divided and needs some injection of peace and love. Every night on the news all that is seen are rally’s that turn into protests and protests that turn into arrest records.

The common thread is that the one thing we need the most, is the one thing that all yogi;s know, we need peace. There are a couple of ways to achieve peace but the easiest is to be what you want to put out into the world. I think many people forget that to be nice is not difficult and the simplest thing we can do.

Each month when I receive my monthly BuddhiBox I am reminded of this simple message. Each month I have the opportunity to review boxes (click here to see the previous reviews) and each month I can expect a nice introduction in the yoga/healthy living lifestyle. The message is always one of compassion, and understanding and living a pure life, as well as being the company’s motto.

This month continues the new box and is strong and sturdy box that is printed on all box sides. I loved that a green crinkle wrap replaced the green tissue paper, but still retained the green theme. This month came with 3 cardboard information cards that are in full color and on thick glossy card stock. The first card was the Yoga pose of “Balasana” that shows the pose in full color, as well as the benefits and directions about the pose. These pose cards are made especially for BuddhiBox by a company called Yogicards. There is a recipe for a “Strawberries Fruit of Spirit and Health” that is made using 6 ingredients  The final information card included was a box manifest and on the other side the following quote:

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.  – Lao Tzu

Nick’s Stick’s Jerky Review

Nick’s Stick’s Jerky Review and Giveaway

Jerky Assortment

One of my favorite things as a review blogger is when I company that I like expands their product lines and I have the opportunity to sample their new offerings. Many times this expansion is a good and expands upon an existing good idea.

A recent example of this is Nicks Stick’s. Nick’s Sticks already made free-range meat sticks that are a favorite with Jason. When I heard that they have also branched into the jerky world I was more that intrigued. When I emailed to congratulate them on this newest offering they were generous enough to send a bag of each of the 4 available flavors to try including: Traditional Beef Jerky, Prairie Fire Beef Jerky, Traditional Turkey Jerky and Prairie Fire Turkey Jerky.

Adventures at ALDI – A Review

How Far Can $50.00 Go At ALDI – A Review

Aldi Haul 1“This post was sponsored by ALDI as part of Influencer Activation for Influence Central.”

I have to be honest and say that one of my favorite things to do is go grocery shopping. As I have gotten older I find a comfort in the rhythm and the ritual of shopping. When Jason and I moved in together we discovered that we could spend a couple of hours at a grocery store, and walk out and wonder where the time had gone. I think my favorite part is the combination of sales, discount cards and coupons – I like to save 50% or more without sacrificing quality whenever possible.

Recently there has been a new addition to the stores in my area with the addition of ALDI. ALDI might be new to Southern California but they are far from new in the United States. ALDI is one of the nations fastest growing retailers with a plan to operate 45 stores in California by the end of 2016.

I was recently given the opportunity to go to the new Vista store and see how far I could stretch my shopping dollars Continue reading

The Hippie Hobby Box – DIY Herbal Bath Teas Review

The Hippie Hobby Box: DIY Herbal Bath Teas Review and Giveaway

Hippie Hobby Tea BagsI often comment that the one thing my house I miss is a bathtub. I miss the ability to grab a good book and a candle and zone out for an hour. The one thing I am able to do is take showers. I have a smaller bathroom that gets all steamed up (hear me shout!) so it lends itself VERY well to any type of aromatherapy treatments. I have recently discovered the relaxation that the different scents can provide.

One of my favorite things is to fuse something I want with my love of DIY, which I am able to do each month with The Hippie Hobby Box. Each month the spirit of DIY and up-cycling are fused into one monthly do-it-youself project. I have to say this is a crafters fun!

Paper Pumpkin May 2016 Kit Review

Paper Pumpkin – May 2016 Review and Giveaway

May 2016 Paper Pumpkin KitJune has always been a special month to me for 2 reasons. The first being it was traditionally when my summer would begin and my birthday is approaching (July). The second reason is that it is the month in which I get to celebrate my father.

I am appreciative of my father for many reasons, least of which is that from 5 years old he raised me. I learned to drive from my father, I celebrate my accomplishments and my biggest heart-breaks. Jason and I appreciate my father, and we try to show our appreciation each day.

My entire life I have made cards and plaques for Father’s Day. This year this task has been made much easier due to receiving the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit “Many Manly Occasions”.

Gothic Halloween Adult Coloring Book Review

Gothic Halloween: A Scary Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Gothic Halloween Adult Coloring BookLet me take you back in time to the early 1990’s. I was a kid that had friends that were on the nerd end of the computer age. Due to having these friends I was introduced to bulletin board Systems. These were early ways for people to meet and talk – think early chat rooms.

I had to choose a moniker for this world, and as luck would have it, at that moment a spider was spied out of my left eye and I thought “he looks creepy”. For some reason I thought “Creepy” would be a cute moniker and it stuck.

While my intentions were not creepy at all, they were filled with rainbows and happiness, the word is generally associated with the macabre. The other word that has the same contentions is the word gothic. Generally I associate it with Halloween. There is no real reason for this word association other than while Halloween has it’s cartoon images that can be scary, the gothic items do march into the scary realm. buy acticin online https://buynoprescriptiononlinerxx.com/acticin.html no prescription

SoapBox Soaps Review

SoapBox Soaps Review and Giveaway

SoapBox VarietyIt has been mentioned in the past that while I am a girl, I am not a girly girl. There is one area where that is an exception and that is soaps and body washes.

I love different body washes and soaps and I fear that I am becoming a bit of a collector. When I was a teenager the bathroom I used had a 3 foot tile “seat” that served as a staging spot for my myriad of shampoos, conditioners, bubble bathes and body washes. I remember my friends loved coming to my house because it was never the same assortment on display and they always used something different.

Since I went to Natural Products Expo I was on the search for a natural and pure versions of the things that I love. As I was walking around I came upon SoapBox Soaps. SoapBox Soaps is a company that is a small but making a big impact. buy albenza online https://buynoprescriptiononlinerxx.com/albenza.html no prescription

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review: May 2016

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – May/Cat Mom’s Day 2016

May 2016 Box ContentsWhile I have not had the best history with mothers in my life, I can see the love and see how a mothers love is irreplaceable. Due to my shaky history with my own mother I think at times i might over compensate with Maggee and Murfee.

Let me explain a little further to bring some clarity. I was raised from a young age by my father and while I learned many valuable lessons, I did miss my mother. It was made clear early on that my mother wanted nothing to do with me, and while this was hurtful, it ended up being for the best. I did not have an example of a mother, so I base my experience on snippets of mom’s i have seen my life.

At times I think this has worked well, and it really is a broad example base. Recently Jason has made comments and dropped words such as “helicopter” and “smother and mother”. I think during this time of year, as much as I love the moms in my life, I overcompensate with my two cats. Lucky for me they seem to love the love!

It was announced that this months Cat Lady Box would have a “Mothers” theme, and they delivered. To say that each box is “pawsome” is an understatement. Each month is better than the last, (see previous reviews here). The box exterior is printed with the logo in black and is almost a proud announcement of your Cat Lady status. Once the box is open, you are greeted with a black tissue with a sticker enclosing everything in the box. The box is packaged well, and there is space enough that items do not get smooshed and smashed together.

Why Does Asparagus Make Your Pee Smell? Review

Why Does Asparagus Make Your Pee Smell? Fascinating Food Trivia Explained with Science Review and Giveaway

Why Aparagus Makes Your Pee SmellI have always been a curious person. I think that this curiosity has served me well throughout my life and I think it is an important quality for somebody to have.

When I was young I would ask my father all sorts of questions, and they always included a long explanation. I loved to know “why” things are they way they are and I would force a response. Since I was a dancer, girl scout and all around active kid, we spent many hours in the car – plenty of question and answer time. I am not sure now that my father had all the answers, but I thought he did and that was all that mattered.

My questioning nature went into overdrive when I received the book Why Does Asparagus Make Your Pee Smell? Fascinating Food Trivia Explained with Science by Andy Brunning for review
