Howl: Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review

Howl: Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book – Blue Star Master Collection Review and Giveaway

Howl from Master CollectionWhen Jason and I used to live on a road much emptier than the busy road that we now live on. There was something calm and tranquil hearing the coyotes and crickets as we fell asleep.

Looking back I think my favorite sound was the howl of the coyotes. There was a special bark that they would make which would signal the acquisition of a meal. This became a common sound, and in time I found myself rooting for the howling creatures, despite knowing the kill was an unsuspecting animal or family pet.

When I received a copy of Howl: Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book from the Blue Star Master Collection by Katy Lipscomb I was reminded of those long nights listening to the howls outside.

Triple T Studios: Pretty in Pink Cat Wallet Giveaway

Triple T Studios: Pretty in Pink Wallet Giveaway

Pink WalletCat’s are funny creatures that are creatures of habit, but sometimes there are exceptions … let me explain. Our house has 3 sleeping spots that are popular with our cats – the yellow pillow I made them from one of our old  pillows (which they seem to love), on the back of the couch and a dog bed that sits by the door (this gives them a perfect window to look out). The odd part of  our cats is that they will totally abandon one of the spots and use one exclusively for a couple of weeks, and then move on to another spot that is totally out of the norm.

I love this aspect of cats – I love thinking what they must be thinking to make them move into otherwise abandoned spots. I have always believed that they have their own thoughts and do have a level of thought that many people underestimate.

A couple of months ago I was introduced to Triple T Studios, and this could not have been a better introduction. I am a supporter of not only my cats, but all cats. One of the products available on their site is a Kitten Wallet which is just beyond feline themed!

The Healing Tree Soap and Candle Review

The Healing Tree: Soap and Candle Review

The Healing Tree Candle and SoapI have noticed a trend recently, the use of charcoal in soap. Now on the first thought, it is a question as to why you would want to use something that is an ashy black residue that usually contains ash. Despite charcoals apparent downsides, these are really upsides. Read further to let me explain further.

The use of charcoal has many benefits including removing dangerous toxins from your body, reduces the appearance of acne and can remove the dead skin that can cause skin problems.

I met The Healing Tree at The Natural Products Expo an reached out for an opportunity to review a couple of items. Continue reading

Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Review

Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Review and Giveaway

Chefs Cut JerkyAs a blogger I spend many hours sitting and far less hours eating as healthy as I should. Many days convenience wins over substance and hunger wins over flavor.

There is a snack that breaks the consistency that convenience brings and also contains the flavor that hunger craves.

The ubiquitous snack I am referring to is JERKY! Now if you are like me, you are unaware that jerky comes in beef, chicken and bacon varieties.

One company is taking the meats that are staples for protein diets, and making them into tasty and flavorful jerky flavors. Chef’s Cut Real Jerky was generous enough to send me a Deluxe Variety Pack to sample, which my jerky loving husband was thrilled about. Continue reading

It’s Owl Good Adult Coloring Book Review

It’s Owl Good: An Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Owl GoodThere is a loud friend we have in our neighborhood. This particular friend is about 2 feet tall, with a wingspan that is about triple his height. This majestic creature is as beautiful as loud, and to hear his hoot and screech remind us that nature is all around.

Owls are amazing creatures whose beauty can sometimes eclipse their abilities. An example of this is that since owls have 14 neck vertebrae, compared to a humans 7, they can turn their necks 270 degrees. In addition due to the membranes in the eyes, each of an owls eyes can move independently of each other.

When I received a copy of It’s Owl Good: An Adult Coloring Book by Christina Knott it inspired me to learn more about owls, from their coloring to their hunting habits.

Ruby Red Face & Body Paint Review

Ruby Red Face & Body Paint Review and Giveaway

Ruby Red Face and Body PaintThere are many was to express ones creativity which can range from coloring, quilting, and even in self-expression. Self expression is a category of creativity that I do not explore often but it is equally important to the other aspects of creativity.

Lucky for society today self-expression is much more accepted and at certain places or times it is encouraged. The first thing that comes to my mind is the Sunday professional football game – being able to show your team spirit is a great way to exercise self-expression. The other time that it is widely accepted is Halloween. For one day a year a person can become a different person for one night. Many times this includes a mask or clothing, but there is another way.

When I attended the Craft and Hobby Mega Show in Anaheim I came across Ruby Red Face & Body Paint and knew that this was an additional tool for self-expression. Continue reading

Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – May 2016 Review

Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – May 2016 Review

Box of Awesome May 2016Each year before school started I would get a set amount to spend on clothes. It was my responsibility to spend wisely. I was never a teenager who spent a ton of money on designer clothes, or accessories. I have always looked for comfort and an affordable price. Even now when I do any type of shopping I look for the best deals and steals.

Clearance racks are my favorite places in the store and I love to visit discount store. The more I can get with a fixed amount of money the happier I leave a store or website.

It is in this money-saving and deal holding spirit that I was introduced to the Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome by That Daily Deal.com. Each month no theme is chosen, but rather a selection of random gender neutral items.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – May 2016

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – May 2016

May 2016 Box Contents Each month I make the 15 minute trek over to my father’s house with the intention to visit Meadow, and present her with her monthly treats. When I arrived this month, I failed to give my father a proper “heads-up” and when I arrived dog and guardian were nowhere to be found. Lucky for Meadow, the neighborhood in which she lives has numerous parks and places to play. It did not take me long to discover the whereabouts of k-9 and human.

Noodles and Meadow 1Once I discovered my father, it turned out that she had a playdate with her best friend Noodles. It so happens that Noodles is a Golden Laberdoodle that is the same age as Meadow, as well as being a couple of homes away.

Since this month’s Pet Treater theme was “Doggie de Mayo” it seemed appropriate that I would find Meadow socializing, instead of her usual sleeping spot. I have mentioned before that I love this time of the month is when I receive the box because it gives me a chance see Meadow’s progress and growth. As I spend more time away from her the more advanced she seems when I do see her again, which is always a treat.
