Eye Connect Crafts Review

Eye Connect Crafts Review and Giveaway

Eye Crafts Product SelectionI love to make things for Jason to have at his desk at work, so I am always on the lookout for cute small items I can make in the themes that interest him. I love to do crafts that I have not done in the past – I love the discovery to the completion. I am always looking for crafts I can combine something unique for his desk and fulfill my creative desire.

When I attended the Craft and Hobby Mega Show in Anaheim I saw some crafts that could be contenders for “deskorations”. One of the companies that got my attention was Eye Connect Crafts.

Shortly after the Craft and Hobby Show I reached out to Eye Connect Crafts and they were kind enough to send me a variety of products for review. I was sent a variety of products including:

StarsLace-Up: Celebration Stars / I loved these when I saw them! I knew that I wanted them to have a stone look so I used a spray paint that gave a stone and pebble look. I had a plan to partner these with the light bulbs for a unique garland to use at the holidays. Once these dried they appeared to have a little thickness to each one which gave this a realistic look from a couple of feet away.

Lace Up Moon and StarsLace-Up: Moon and Stars / There is something magical about the moon and stars (well space in general). From where I sit writing these posts I can see the moon most evenings, and I love to take a moment and wonder what is up there. I love that by the time the light from the stars reach our eyes the star is long burned up. Imagine that the dinosaurs may have seen that same star – simply amazing. The idea behind this is that you can decorate the stars and use a tie or ribbon to attach them to the moon.

bulbsLace-Up: Celebrations, Bulbs / As I mentioned above with the stars, I had the plan in my head to combine the two and create a unique garland for the holiday seasons. I decided that I would make these as realistic as possible and color them the same as actual holiday bulbs. The finished product is below, but I think my goal was reached!

SnakeTotem: Snake / I chose this snake for Jason’s desk at work – his own “deskoration”. When he was a child he would literally go snake hunting and come home with a dozen or more baby rattlesnakes (yes it is true – his parents/family have confirmed this story many a time). I decided to go with a green theme on this snake and a sharp red tongue. The snake was attached with the Green Brads that was also send with these samples. I think he turned out very snake like.

Spider and CatTotem: Cats and Totem: Spider / Regular readers will now that I love cats and cats love spiders (at least ours do). Whenever there is a spider in the house, our girl hones in on it and attacks (well taunts and then attacks). This is going to be a surprise (surprise!) for Jason in the future which will be mounted on a board for another “deskoration”. I will be sure to share it when it is completed.

Finished Strand Bulbs and StarsThe thing I appreciated the most about these is that they were pre-cut, and super easy to assemble without sacrificing a ton of creativity and flexibility. Each kit has the pieces ready on a lightweight cardboard. The best part is that there are  designs that can not be found anywhere else, making what you create unique and one-of-a-kind. These are great kits for kids and would allow them the practice skills from coloring, painting and attaching objects to other items.

I had a lot of fun with these kits, and the possibilities are endless – if you are looking for a simple but highly impactful project this is for you!
