Pet Gift Box – Cat – Subscription Box – June Review

PetGiftBox - Jurassic June BoxI remember the first time I heard of dinosaurs and seeing Jurassic Park the first time.  I remember thinking that nothing that large, imposing or threatening could have ever walked this earth. I began to read and compare the movie to actual fact and came to my own conclusions. I get lost in the world that was created in which to transport people back billions of year ago. This beloved franchise was recently given a 2015 twist and is scarier, more exciting and more imposing then before.

Appropriately this months box theme is a take on the uber successful recently rebooted Jurassic Park series – instead welcome to “Purrassic Park” for Pet Gift boxes Jurassic June Box. This months theme could not have been more timely or more appropriate as many subscription boxes are using this as a theme and capitalizing on this beloved franchise. The thematic tone to this months box was right on point and included the following:

Ozone Sock of the Month Review

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Ozone Sock’s. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

Ozone Sock of the Month Review

Ozone Socks Mona LinenEver since I was a young girl I have LOVED socks. When I was young (and not having to purchase my own socks) I would think nothing of walking outside sans shoes, thus creating unfixable holes. The cooler looking the sock, the higher the chances that I would wear it without shoes.

Flash forward 25 years (give or take, plus or minus a few years) and now my love of socks is still present in my life but I am much more careful when I walk outside and make sure I have shoes no doubt partially due to the necessity of purchasing my own socks.

With my natural love of socks it seemed like a good “fit” to review Ozone Sock’s Sock of the Month Club. I have never been in a place where I receive socks in the mail, so this was a nice surprise amongst a pile of bills and junk mail.

BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review – May Box

BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – May Box

BuddhiBox MayAs my 40th birthday rapidly approaches it causes me to think more, and want to create a better environment for my future self. I often find myself sitting and thinking and wondering what the next 40 years will be for me and if they will resemble the previous 40.

One of the things that I love about BuddhiBox is that they practice ‘Saucha’ or pure living. This basically means that they only partner with companies who follow ethical and conscious standard of productions. Each month a portion of the proceeds is donated to a different charity. This months charity happesn to be Connections to Success, a mid-western charity that seeks to break the cycle of poverty by assisting in continuing education and providing work opportunities to their community.

Earlier in the year, I had the opportunity to review the February BuddhiBox (click here to see that review) as well as the April BuddhiBox (click here to see that review). Given the retail price of the boxes these are value packed and honestly a lot of fun to receive and review.

The bright green tissue paper again greeted me and I found myself eager to tear the sticker and delve into this months box with it’s 3 cardboard information cards as a teaser. On the first card was the “Bird of Paradise” pose that shows the pose, in full color, as well as the benefits and possible cautions about the pose. There was a recipe for a “Healthy 3 Ingredient Date and Almond Chocolates”” that is made using only 3 ingredients (5-10 dates,10 almonds and 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips). The final information card included was a box content listing and the following quote:

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode. The true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. – Audrey Hepburn

KitNipBox Subscription Box- May Review

KitNip Subscription Box – May ReviewKitNip Box May 2015If you know me/us or have read this blog in the past you probably know how much I/we love our Muggles. Our two Muggles are also the most playful cats we know or have been around. We thought that by now the energy levels in the house would diminish as kitten-hood gets further from them, but that is not the case. Murfee especially acts like he did at 9 weeks old, which makes for an always awake, parkouring, trouble causing combination of a cat. Maggee is starting to show signs of slowing, except where treats and toys are concerned.

The bonus for us is that with all the energy comes many fun moments to play with them, which we do quite often. When the cats were little we read that it was important to give indoor cats as much stimulation as possible since they are stuck inside and unable to explore outside. We really took this to heart as pet owners and the result is a feline friendly home that has sleeping spots, scratch spots (homemade in some cases) and more toys than 2 cats ever would need.

Being a review blogger gives me chances to review monthly gift box subscriptions, including this months KitNipBox. The theme for this month is “Meow Vegas” and they teamed up with Noahs Animal House of Las Vegas to donate a portion of their May proceeds to assist on the grounds of Nevada’s largest crisis shelter.

There were a lot of goodies in this months KitNipBox Multiple Cat Box, including the following:

I have mentioned in the past that I am a nostalgic girl and I love to send handwritten cards and letters to my friends. I am also a scrapbooker and paper crafter. which is a wonderful full cycle of the greeting card /gift wrap process for me to complete.

I have loved Stampin’ Up’s stamps for as long as I have been a scrapbooker, and have been curious about their monthly subscription program. I recently had the chance to review the My Paper Pumpkin’s May 2015 kit box. The theme for May was a birthday theme named “Birthday Bundle”.

This little 10 by 6.5 size box comes jammed packed with the items you need to complete the project for the month. Included in this months box were the following:

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – May Box Review

GeekFuel Monthly Subscription May BoxA trending topic in our house is our Geek Factor, and how to measure such an arbitrary trait. The methods that are popular in our Geek House is how many Marvel movies we have seen or are we original Trekkies, Next Generation or Deep Space Nine devotees. There has been banter about is Star Trek with Chris Pine as Captain, or was William Shatner the only one who could play that famous role of James Tiberius Kirk.

It has been 6 years and this is still a hotly debated topic in this house and where Geek Fuel steps in to help determine the true geek. Geek Fuel’s Monthly Subscription Service launched in December 2014 and is a monthly gaming/geek themed subscription box service. Each box is mailed monthly, around the 20th, in a red box labeled with the Geek Fuel logo. Each box contains a t-shirt that you can only get from having a monthly box subscription.

I have done Geek Fuel reviews in the past (March 2015 and April 2015) and really love the monthly delivery of Geek. This months box was just as packed full of Geeky Goodness as previous months. Included in this months box was the following:

Geek Fuel May 2015Exclusive Geek Fuel T-shirt- $10.00: Each month a limited t-shirt that only members of Geek Fuel receive. This months shirt is a Weeping Angels shirt from their Don’t Blink Tour, this is a reference to Doctor Who. The shirt is made of a strong cotton and is very comfortable.

Pet Gift Box – Cat – Subscription Box – May Review and Giveaway

When I was young I had a tabby cat named Rebecca, named after my middle name. I really loved Rebecca and despite the allergies my father suffered he let me keep her, or so believed at the time. Now to this day I do not remember the day or circumstances but one day Rebecca was replaced by a Guinea Pig. I remember at the time promising myself that when I was on my own I would get another cat and be the best guardian of all time.

Flash forward 30 plus years and anyone who knows me knows that I love my Muggles – Murfee and Maggee like they are equal residents of our house as the humans (yes, I know they are not). I love to have a lot of things around our house for stimulation since they are strictly indoor cats. I believe the more toys they have to play with, surface to scratch and treats to eat the happier cats they will be.

My philosophy of how my cats should live is not always appreciated or supported in society but I am constantly seeking new things for them to enjoy. In my search I came upon a monthly subscription box with Muggles in mind. Pet Gift Box is a specially curated box with dogs and cats in mind, taipet gift box cat toyloring the boxes from petite dogs, hefty hounds and cats.

The boxes are addressed to the animal and is personalized to your pet on the outside, giving the immediate feeling that this collection was put together for your pet. I loved seeing something in the mail for the cats, and thought it was a very cute personalized touch. The box was nicely organized inside, and upon first opening you have to move the tissue paper to see what is contained inside, which included the following:

Swaag/TOM Box Review

20150523_014757Swaag/TomBox Review

I have mentioned in the past that I was raised by a single father and this was simultaneously the best way and worst way to grow up. The worst part comes in when we are talking about my monthly period and the coming of age that every girl encounters. This was a “period” of adjustment for me, and things were new and at times scary.

I mention this overly embarrassing time period of my life to remind myself that it can and does get easier and better. One thing that I have recently found that makes it better is the monthly arrival of a box, with your monthly visitor in mind. I recently had the opportunity review Swaag/Tom Box, it is named TOM after the letters stand for “time of month” box. Each month they send your choice of sanitary product, as well as makeup, jewelery and chocolates.

Upon sign-up you will be asked a series of questions that include things such as what your favorite brand of products is, what is your skin type, what is your style, hair color and eye color as well as a couple other questions that allow them to curate a box with your specifications.

Send Me Gluten Free May Box Review & Giveaway

Send Me Gluten Free Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – May 2015 BoxSend Me Gluten Free May Box

This month has been one of reflection for me, both of my best friends from high school turned 40. The first one occurred at the beginning of the month, the second happened this past weekend. These birthdays forced me to stop, take a breath and think about my own looming day.

When we are young we do not consider the food we eat and the long-term effects included in that food. We believe we are invincible, that nothing can hurt us and we can eat what we want with reckless abandon. As we get older, we wisen up and start thinking about the future. We begin to live our lives with someone and for some bodies that we love, therefore we want to be healthy.

The wonderful thing about monthly subscription boxes is that it opens my mind to products I would not normally sample. Each month Send Me Gluten Free (SMGF) chooses 8-12 full size items to include in their monthly box, which allow for greater sampling of the available offerings for those with gluten sensitivity or those who just want to eat healthier. They were generous enough to send me the May box to sample and review and included in the box were the following products:
