Paper Pumpkin April 2016 Kit Review

Paper Pumpkin – April 2016 Review and Giveaway

April Kit Lovely Little WreathSince I am not only a scrapbooker and card maker but I am also a crafter, I love a good project that is attractive and easy. As we embark on Spring I am seeing more and more floral wreaths on the doors of my neighbors.

Wreaths are not only colorful, but are a wonderful way to use the flowers that are in season. Since we moved into our current home, I have been wanting a Spring themed wreath and with the April Paper Pumpkin kit I finally got a themed wreath with a frame. The frame allows the wreath to be used for any season or holiday. The name of “Lovely Little Wreath” was appropriate and honestly a perfect description of this months project.

Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns Review

Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns Review and Giveaway

Kaleidoscope PatternsAdmittedly I was a simple child in the toys I played with and yearned for. The most coveted toy of my generation was the Cabbage Patch Kid. I remember the day that i met my new best friend Melissa Sue – a brown eyes, brown yarned girl. My best friend and I did everything together and we were inseparable.

One Christmas my father made my human best friend and I matching rocking beds for our yarn haired best friends. I had all the accessories and I made sure that Melissa Sue knew I loved her – in fact she is still a member of our family, almost 35 years later.

When my father was young the toys he played with were much simpler with less accessories. As I recount my favorite toy, my father recounted one of his favorites – the kaleidoscope. Recently I received a copy of Adult Coloring Books: Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns by Blue Star Coloring.

My Masterpiece Adult Coloring Book’s Review

My Masterpiece Adult Coloring Book’s Review and Giveaway

My Masterpiece Coloring Book CollectionAs regular readers will attest, I love coloring books. One of my favorite things to do is sit on my balcony and get lost in coloring. As I have mentioned in previous reviews, I live only about 1/4 mile from the vast pacific ocean, which provides the perfect backdrop for creativity. Despite being so close to the ocean, the deck in which I color looks out over the historic highway 101.

After almost 4 years, this view is a constantly evolving, constantly traveled road. Many times as I am sitting at my table and I use the passing cars and people as inspiration in my coloring. I have found that the constant shuffle and activity inspires me in ways that seem unlikely to those not creatively inclined.

As spring rolls on and summer approaches I find myself spending more time on my deck, especially with the increased amount of sunshine, I have more time to color. Recently I was searching online for coloring books and I discovered My Masterpiece Adult Coloring Books. Continue reading

Buttons Galore & More Review

Buttons Galore & More  Review and Giveaway

Love on the fenceWhen Jason and I bought our house a dream of mine came true – I got my dedicated craft room. One of my first priorities was to create art from the materials contained in my craft room. I had always dreamed of having my craft room and I began dreaming of all the things I would create within those 4 walls.

The best way to describe my craft room, is said best by the young lady of a friend of ours when she said “coolest room ever”. My goal was to create a creative space that was filled with love and send a message to everyone who visited that this was a space to not only create but was filled with love.

When I attended the Craft and Hobby Mega Show in Anaheim in January I was introduced to Buttons Galore & More. The first thing that I noticed was the paper crafting project feature wall, as well as the 40 feet of buttons contained within the booth. Shortly after CHA 2016, I was sent a selection of buttons for review and crafting.

Dia de los Muertos Coloring Book Review

Dia de los Muertos: Day of the Dead & Sugar Skull Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Dia De Los Muertos Adult Coloring BookI am a little over 40 years old and overall I have experienced very little loss in my life. Oddly the I have experienced more loss in the past couple years than the previous 38 years. Sadly I lost both of of my grand mothers within a year of each other.

My father’s mother, my grandmother Shirley, was an extraordinary lady and attended ophthalmology school in a time not only dominated by men, but a men’s profession. After she graduated she married, had 2 boys and had her own successful practice. Sometime in the late 1980’s she sold her practice and moved 2,000 miles away to be closer to her boys and their kids. I can honestly say she never missed a moment in my life, knew my friends and if I knew it or not, she moved here to be with me.

I try to honor her memory each day in some special way, be it a thought, or just knowing she loved me. There is a tradition in the Mexican culture that honors the dead each year in the form of Dia de los Muertos. In celebration of this yearly tradition come the coloring book Dia de los Muertos: Day of the Dead and Sugar Skull by Blue Star Coloring is a great way to celebrate the “Day of the Dead”. Doodle Emporium Adult Coloring Book Review

Doodle Emporium: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Doodle EmporiumI remember in junior high I had to take an art class. At the time there was little I looked forward to in this class other than being able to use my new colored pencils and crayons I received each new school year.

During these art classes, with students that I had known since I was a paste eater, were now more creative than myself. I tried to draw a self portrait and it came out looking as though I was actually drawing a new alien species. The assignments would range from home drawing similar to a intro to interior design drawing all the way to free form drawing. To say the least, in my eyes, they had bucket loads of art experience over my inexperience.

There was one type of drawing that I excelled at and that was doodling. There was something simple, yet filled with opportunities contained in those doodles. I have always had an infinity to doodles so when I saw the adult coloring book Doodle Emporium: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Lori Geisler I knew that I would enjoy the pages. Mason Jar Crafts Review

Mason Jar Crafts Review and Giveaway

Mason Jar CraftsOne of my favorite things to do is to take things that are otherwise trash and create something that otherwise would be considered trash. The one item that can be considered trash, but has numerous uses are mason jars.

Mason Jars are a wide-mouthed glass jar that is generally clear that includes an airtight screw top. Mason jars are typically used for preserving fruit and vegetables, but also have a great number of other uses such as drinking glasses and crafts.

Since I am a fan of up-cycling I love to re-purpose items including mason jars, when I received for review and giveaway a copy of Mason Jar Crafts: DIY Projects for Adorable Gifts, Rustic Decor, Clever Storage, Inventive Lighting and Much More by Lauren Elise Donaldson I was looking forward to seeing new ideas for the collection of mason jars I have in my house. buy vibramycin online https://viagra4pleasurerx.com/vibramycin.html no prescription

Color the Cosmos Adult Coloring Book Review

Color the Cosmos: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Color the Cosmos Adult Coloring BookUp until the 1960’s the moon was an unexplored rock and largely a mystery. On July 20, 1969 the entire way we seen the moon and cosmos changed forever.

The moon landing was a not only a scientific feat but one of great personal accomplishment. The mystery of what is up there was a little less mysterious. I personally find it amazing that at any given moment there is somebody who is sitting in a low orbit to earth, with the purpose of studying and learning. I am not sure if we are alone, I almost feel like it is silly for us to think we are the only people smart enough to get beyond our atmosphere. Either way there is one simple fact that remains – they are up against the same hurdles as humans in regards to safe travel.

When I recently received the Color the Cosmos: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Daniela Licalzi and Carolina Licalzi for review I began wondering what is beyond our solar system and what or who else lives there. Continue reading
