Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns Review

Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns Review and Giveaway

Kaleidoscope PatternsAdmittedly I was a simple child in the toys I played with and yearned for. The most coveted toy of my generation was the Cabbage Patch Kid. I remember the day that i met my new best friend Melissa Sue – a brown eyes, brown yarned girl. My best friend and I did everything together and we were inseparable.

One Christmas my father made my human best friend and I matching rocking beds for our yarn haired best friends. I had all the accessories and I made sure that Melissa Sue knew I loved her – in fact she is still a member of our family, almost 35 years later.

When my father was young the toys he played with were much simpler with less accessories. As I recount my favorite toy, my father recounted one of his favorites – the kaleidoscope. Recently I received a copy of Adult Coloring Books: Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns by Blue Star Coloring.

Adult Coloring Books: Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns by Blue Star Coloring contains 52 kaleidoscope patterns of different sizes. Each kaleidoscope contained within this book vary from large lines and shapes to the smaller areas and details. Each circle shape in this book varies in colors to be added, and really does let you create your own design.

Kaleidoscope Patterns to colorDespite the creativity contained in the book the only downside is that the books does not lie flat. If you open the book wide and press down on the interior spine you can crack the binding, otherwise the book will not stay open on it’s own and making coloring each page a little more challenging.

If you want to remove the pages the book is binded much like traditional books are, so take that into account when you want to remove the pages. I use my typical recommendation which is to be cautious when tearing or removing the page or use a cutting device such as scissors or a craft knife to remove the page. Many of the pages cut close to the binding so take extra care when removing pages.

Colored by JenniferI would recommend placing a piece of paper under the page you are coloring to avoid bleeding through to other pages. I used a set of BIC markers, which worked well. I am learning that I need to let the ink dry on the image before I close the book, although I tend to forget my own advice. If you do not let the image dry you run the risks of damaging your work of art.

The simplicity of toys vary greatly from my generation to my father’s the end result is the same – hours of entertainment and imagination at work. I love I can bridge the generation gap of toys, by coloring in a toy of my fathers youth.

Yep, I did! There was a period of time when i was obsessed with my kaleidoscope. I spent so much time looking at all of the neat designs and colors and was totally mystified with it… it seemed like magic. Then again I was only 5 or 6 so most things seemed like magic back then, hehe.
