One of my favorite things to do is to take things that are otherwise trash and create something that otherwise would be considered trash. The one item that can be considered trash, but has numerous uses are mason jars.

Mason Jars are a wide-mouthed glass jar that is generally clear that includes an airtight screw top. Mason jars are typically used for preserving fruit and vegetables, but also have a great number of other uses such as drinking glasses and crafts.

Mason Jar Crafts: DIY Projects for Adorable Gifts, Rustic Decor, Clever Storage, Inventive Lighting and Much More by Lauren Elise Donaldson is a 125+ page book with over 30 projects. Each projects comes with full color step by step instructions, and a full color photos to help guide the creator.

Each of the 30 projects range in time and difficulty and range from a cake stand, a terrarium, a night-light, a clock, a herb garden to name a few. My favorite project in this book was the piggy bank, due to the ease and the uniqueness.

The book starts with an introduction and a list of tips, and terminology that will be referenced throughout the book. Also included is a tool list as well as templates that will be needed to complete some projects. The book is broken into categories and also includes additional resources for supplies.

The instructions throughout the book are simple, and explain the step in a comprehensive and easy to understand format. Each project has an average of 12-15 steps and each one is explained completely. There will be times that you will have to wait for thins to dry before you can move to the next step, but the instructions will let you know when this occurs.
