Stampin’ Up: Oh Happy Day Card Kit Review

Stampin’ Up – Oh Happy Day Card Kit – Review and Giveaway

oh-happy-day-card-kit-completedAs time has gone on I have noticed that time is much more of a commodity. The goal now-a-days is to maximize time and consolidate tasks as much as possible.

I have noticed that as we get older events are brushed under the rug, and the dates that were once special no longer hold the same reverence.

The first time I realized this was in my mid-30’s and it was my birthday. I remembered days when I received cards in the mail, and phone calls from everyone in my phone list, and I noted that that birthday was different. It seems fitting that since I am all about nostalgia and celebration that I acknowledge dates otherwise pushed aside.

Since I am a traditional girl, I love to send cards to loved ones for holidays and events, and even my neighbors have received cards for their special days. When I saw the Oh Happy Day Card Kit I knew it would be the perfect for the occasions that I want to commemorate.

Labor of Love Co: DIY Soy Candle Kit Review

Labor of Love Co: DIY Soy Candle Kit Review and Giveaway

Finished CandlesAbout 10 years ago I decided I wanted to make candles for my family, friends and for myself. I purchased books, and diligently read whatever I could find online about candle making.

I found the process long, and honestly quite dangerous  – have you been burned by hot wax before? Needless to say that initial foray into candle making scared me and I decided to back off until the process was streamlined and not as complicated.

Recently Labor of Love Co reached out to me to review one of their DIY Soy Candle Boxes and since I enjoy making candles I accepted. I was also eager to see if the candle making process could be simplified and made with only the ingredients sent in a box.

Tin of Tags by Stampin’ Up Review

Stampin’ Up – Tin of Tags – Review and Giveaway

Tin of Tags OpeningIf there is one thing that I find occuring earlier are the holiday advertisements. My first thought is usually a plea to hold of on the passing of time, and why start advertising so early.

As I have gotten older I see there is a very practical reason for this mass holiday marketing, and while much of it is over my head, it boils down to planning. Most people start planning for the holidays and gift giving 6 months before the holiday.

The other thing that starts coming out this time of year are the holiday catalogs. While I know we still have some time before the holidays are thrust upon us, it is never to early to start planning. On September 1st Stampin’ Up released its Winter 2016 catalog and that is where I encountered this Tin of Tags Project Kit. I thought it might be fun to have this early holiday giveaway in support of the catalog release!

Deflecto Caddy and Carousel Organizer Review

Deflecto Caddy and Carousel Organizer Review and Giveaway

Caddy and CarouselI recently took up a new hobby – sewing. When I was purchasing my sewing machine I made sure to do my research and make sure the machine I chose had the stitched and features I wanted. I carefully chose those first fabrics, and the matching threads. I read the patterns instructions from beginning to end, and cut the pattern with nothing less than perfection. I purchased the supplies and felt confident that first time I sewed.

With all the things that I did do, there is one things I DID NOT do – storage for all the accessories I would need as a sewer. As a sewer there is a need for thread storage, sewing machine accessories, scissors, and other implements and notions. When Shoplet reached out to me about reviewing the Deflecto Stackable Caddy Organizer and the Rotating Carousel Organizer, I realized that this could be the storage I failed to get the first time around.

Whisker Graphics: Back to School Project Kit Giveaway

Whisker Graphics Back to School 2016When I was a child I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up, there was something about having a 3 month vacation that was appealing (remember the days when 3 months seemed like a lifetime?).

Duct Tape Bags Review

Duct Tape Bags: 40 Tape-Based Projects for Totes, Clutches, Messenger Bags, and Bowlers Review and Giveaway

Duct Tape BagsA couple of months ago I had an idea – make a bag that would be customer sized and used as a trash receptacle in my car. I wanted something in the colors I loved, but also ones that would look natural in a grey interior car. As I began this search, I realized that I would be searching for quite some time. Apparently the trash container market for cars is limited and I would not find what I was looking for.

It goes without saying that when I received a copy of Duct Tape Bags: 40 Tape-Based Projects for Totes, Clutches, Messenger Bags, and Bowlers by Richela Fabian Morgan I did not think this was the answer I was looking for – I was WRONG!

GoWashi – Upcycling Projects using Washi Tape

Allton Tape: Go Washi –

Go Washi Tape AssortmentProjects using Washi Tape and Giveaway!!

Regular readers know that I love to up-cycle otherwise useless items. A couple of years ago my father moved out of the house I grew up in. On the walls were each years school pictures from kindergarten to senior year (1981-1994),

Since these were one the wall, each one was lovingly put in a wooden frame. Each frame varied in size, depending on the picture package chosen that year. What resulted was a “Wall of Jennifer” and almost 13 photo frames that were long overdue to come down off the wall.

At the time I decided to not only take my school photos, but I also took the frames. I knew that one way or another I would reuse these in my crafts. So far they have been recovered, turned in dry erase boards and reused for Jason and I’s photos.

Back in March I had the opportunity to review Allton’s Go Washi Tape and I loved it! Since I am always looking to up-cycle an other wise lifeless items, I decided to do a second round of washi tape projects, with an up-cycled twist.

Thoughtful Branches Bundle by Stampin’ Up Giveaway

Stampin’ Up – Thoughtful Branches Stamp and Thinlet Die Bundle –  Giveaway

Thoughtful Branches Photopolymer BundleI have been a crafter for years, but was never a stamper until a couple of years ago. It was my 35th birthday and I could not find invitations that fit what I wanted in the invitations. I began to rifle through my limited craft collection, since most was in storage at that time, and hatched a plan. I went to the craft store with a concept in my head, a budget on my wallet and a deadline on the date, as it quickly approaching. After an exhaustive search I decided to embark on a craft medium that I had never tried before – Stamping.

Since I am not a stamper, and really knew very little about stamping I was nervous to say the least. After my first couple stamps, and with Jason encouraging me, I realized that this was a great way to get a base image, and accent it in the colors I chose.

Recently I was informed that for the month of August Stampin’ Up was offering a bundle outside their normal catalog. The bundle being offered is the Thoughtful Branches Photopolymer Bundle.
