Stampin’ Up – Tin of Tags – Review and Giveaway

Tin of Tags OpeningIf there is one thing that I find occuring earlier are the holiday advertisements. My first thought is usually a plea to hold of on the passing of time, and why start advertising so early.

As I have gotten older I see there is a very practical reason for this mass holiday marketing, and while much of it is over my head, it boils down to planning. Most people start planning for the holidays and gift giving 6 months before the holiday.

The other thing that starts coming out this time of year are the holiday catalogs. While I know we still have some time before the holidays are thrust upon us, it is never to early to start planning. On September 1st Stampin’ Up released its Winter 2016 catalog and that is where I encountered this Tin of Tags Project Kit. I thought it might be fun to have this early holiday giveaway in support of the catalog release!

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Stampin’ Up, but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

Tin of Cards StampsThe Tin of Tags Stamp Set coordinates with the Tin of Tags Project Kit and is a selection of 16 photo-polymer stamps that will include any message you want to convey.of varying gift giving messages. I would recommend getting a clear block to place the stamps on, as the tags are small and this makes the process much easier. To keep cleanup easy I just used baby wipes to clean the surface of the stamps and that seemed to clean them of all residual ink.

Stamp ColorsCoordinating ink colors: Island Indigo, Old Olive, Real Red and Crushed Curry. Each color is 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ and fast drying, permanent ink that is acid free. The ink stamp also has a versatile case that has a flip top for upside-down storage which means that the pads stay inked during storage. Also on the back of each stamp is a label that can be placed on the side of the stamp, to identify colors at a glance. This helps to make the storage and the later retrieval much easier. These also can be re-inked with Archival Stampin’ Ink Refills.

Go Ahead and Tear it OpenThis kit has clean instructions that are included in writing and a color photo and your able to complete these in the correct steps. This made the various pieces of the tags easy to identify and place together. Each tag took only about 10 minutes each on the long end, and less than 5 minutes on some, depending on design and stamping requirements.

Wood Detail Popped OutThe cutting of the wood die-cuts is nothing short of detailed, although I would take care when you remove these from the form. I went a little fast and harsh on the first one and lost a couple spokes of the flakes (although it is hard to tell on the completed tag).

Tin of Tags Complete ProjectIf you enjoy adding a personal and handmade element to any gift, these tags will fit the bill. Each tag has its own personality and each is appropriate for any item it is placed on. I loved this kit, it was an easy and highly fulfilling craft project when all was said and done.

My favorite thing about the holidays is getting to visit all the family that I didn’t get to see throughout the year, and all the good cookies too, of course!

I look forward to spending time with the family and our tradition of driving around looking at the Christmas lights.
