BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review – November 2015 Box

BuddhiBox Monthly Subscription Review  – November 2015 Box

November Buddhi BoxThe truth of the matter is that we humans are only on this earth for a short time, and unless we make a impact or a change generation ahead are going to be in a worse world then now. My husband was taught a lesson in camping, that I believe applies to life  – Leave the campsite better then you found it. I think that this is really a lesson that applies to everyday life, not just once a year.

If we continue our destructive and somewhat careless lifestyles, then we are leaving a worse world for generations to come. We need to continue the kindness to others, continue to learn about things we do not understand, and pass on the good in human nature then things are going to get worse. That is one reason I look forward to my monthly Buddhi Box – these are messages that are important in the yoga world.

I recently received the November Buddhi Box and I am beyond impressed. Earlier in the year, I had the opportunity to review previous boxes (click here) and they are always a fun adventure in the yoga lifestyle. The message is always one of compassion, and understanding and living a pure life.

After the breast cancer theme of last month, we are back to the familiar bright green tissue paper. This month came with 3 cardboard information cards that are in full color and on thick glossy card stock. The first card was the Yoga pose of “Scale Pose” that shows the pose in full color, as well as the benefits about the pose. These pose cards are made especially for BuddhiBox – click here for a interview with their creator.  There is a recipe for a “Pumpkin Spice Cashew Cups” that is made using only 5 ingredients that creates pumpkin spice cashew cups that are similar in shape to cupcakes. The final information card included was a box content listing and on the other side the following quote:

You have no cause for anything but gratitude and joy  – The Buddha

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – November 2015 Review

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – November 2015 Review

November Geek Fuel Total Box ContentsI am a child of the 80’s which means that I celebrated my 5th through 15th birthdays in the 1980’s. There is little that do not love about the 80’s from the fad, trends and culture. One of the first video game memories I have are from Mrs. Pac-Man. My childhood dentist and then orthodontist had a Mrs. Pac-Man game in the waiting room – i loved going to the dentist. I was unaware that there was a MR. Pac-Man for many years, and when I did discover him, I loved him as much as his Mrs.

I often say I wish I could go back to the simplicity of that era and I am happy to say that this month Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription Box went back in time with an 80’s for this months theme. I was eager to open this months box as I usually have been in previous months, I was eager to see what it contained. It had been announced that there would be an Officially Licensed Star Wars product, as well as a Pac-Man item, in the November box

Peaches & Petals November Box Subscription Review

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – November 2015 Review and Giveaway

November Peaches and Petals OverviewOne of my favorite thing about monthly subscription boxes is the random curated surprise that await the recipient. I love the unique items included and the useful items. I think that after almost a year of reviewing boxes, my favorite part is seeing the theme of the contents. I appreciate when I box has a unifying them that ties it together.

Peaches and Petals is taking this concept of a unifying theme and bringing it to each monthly box. This is a subscription box that caters to ‘fun. flirty, fashionable vintage and modern lifestyles’. What does that mean to you the subscriber? It means that each month you will receive 3-5 items hand selected by the Peaches and Petals team and can range in items from creams, nail polish, makeup, scarves and bags  or/and a vintage piece of jewelry. There could be other items included, depending on the box and theme for the month. The November 2015 box seems to have a unifying theme of “Infinity”.

World of Munchies Snack Box Delivery Review

World of Munchies Snack Box Delivery – Review & Giveaway

World of Munchies Serious Snacker BoxWhen I was just over 30 years old, I had the opportunity to travel overseas and go to Thailand. I was young, and it was my first time being an entire ocean away that was separating me and my loved ones. It just so happens that I went a mere 5 months after the tsunami hit, that was triggered by the Indian Ocean earthquake. While I never traveled to the tsunami zone, there were plenty of other beaches and coast line’s in Northern Thailand that could have fallen victim. I remember being thanked for traveling to Thailand many times over.

On my first night in Thailand after hotel check in, my travel mates and I decided to do two things: the first was watch the traffic on the busy Bangkok streets and the second was to visit the first convenience store we had any recognition of. Apparently traffic laws are much more lax in Bangkok and despite being on the sidewalk, we were almost hit numerous times. Also, as luck would have it, the corner we were on happened to have a convenience store with the green and red coloring we all knew so well.

I decided to take this chance and purchase some treats and I knew. I discovered many treats that trip that had I not tried them, I would have missed out. Since then, I am always on the lookout for new and interesting boxes and I think I have hit the nail on the head with my latest box find – World of Munchies. World of Munchies was started by the mind of an 11-year-old entrepreneur. I can say when you see the selection and diversity of the snacks included, they are not of an 11 year old palate.

My Paper Pumpkin November 2015 Review

My Paper Pumpkin November 2015 Kit Review and Giveaway

November Mistletoe and Holly KitWhen I was a child and teenager my job during the holidays was to do the annual holiday cards. It is important to understand that this is something I looked forward to each year. As soon as holiday cards were available at our neighborhood warehouse store, I made sure to impress upon my father their importance. What usually happened is that people we only spoke to once a year would be inspire to call and to do that once yearly checking.

As I have gotten older I no longer do cards on behalf of my father, but my own household. When Jason and I met, one of the first thing I shared was my love of sending holiday cards and he was tasked with getting his families addresses for me. As we have progressed into spouses so have my level of cards into handmade. I generally hand make cards for the holidays as well as thank you cards and invitations.

I remembered this ritual when I saw this months My Paper Pumpkin kit as I had the chance to review My Paper Pumpkin’s kit box’s previous months box (click here). As if made for me and the season the box for November was called “Mistletoe & Holly”.

Soap.club Monthly Subscription Review

Soap.club Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway

Soap CLub Front onAs we travel through this crazy path we call life, we are met with a lot of unknowns. When we are children our parents try to tell us to appreciate life, and that one day you will wake up 40 and wondering where the last 20 years went.

I have always thought that it is important to have memories and moments. For many people they have the ability to turn those moments into not only memories but something more tangible. I love hearing the stories behind a company – what makes them start, why did they chose now to take this leap and where do they want to end up.

When I find companies that are inspired by moments and memories rather than the alternative, it always gets my attention – Soap.club has done just that. Soap.club is a small family run soap business. The business was inspired while the founding couple was on vacation on the Hawaiian Islands. While there they saw soap making in its purest form and set out to create this same soap. Soap.club uses sustainable ingredient sourcing and achieving ethical trade partnerships.

Sock Club – November 2015 – Review

Sock Club – November 2015 – Review & Giveaway

November Sock ClubI have always been fascinated by the mere miracle that is aviation. The concept that a metal object that weighs anywhere from thousand to hundreds of thousands of pounds is able to fly is the definition of a miracle. When I think back I think my fascination is from my father and his previous career as a  pilot. Rumor has it that when I was a fussy baby instead of a car ride to calm me, my father would take me up on his plane for a flight. The result apparently was a instantly calmed baby.

Due to this love of aviation the story and mythology of Howard Hughes equally fascinates me. The legacy that Howard Hughes left was more emotional than physical and it was the legacy of dreaming. When you think of dreams and Howard Hughes, the one thing that comes to mind is the Spruce Goose. The Spruce Goose was only in flight once, for a total of 70ft off the surface of the ocean.

In honor of the November 2nd, 1947 flight, the 69th anniversary, of Howard Hughes maiden and only flight of the Spruce Goose, SockClub decided that this would be the inspiration behind the November sock.

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review: October 2015

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – October 2015

Cat Lady Box contents October 2015-1There is a trend happening around the world that I would like to mention to all of my fellow animals lovers – the dressing up of animals. The outfitting of attire for animals is not a new trend, but one that has been around as long as animals have been domesticated.

As humans we tend to put our emotions into the animals, thinking that our desires are their desires when in fact this is not the case. There is no better way to express this than in the dressing of our feline friends. I am not sure when this began, but i think it is more our desire for laughter and “awws” than for the cats themselves. I would imagine that the dressed animal is uncomfortable and a bit confused. That being said, I dream up outfits and costumes for the Muggles and plans have been made.

Since Halloween just passed I saw many dressed up animal photos on my social media feeds and I have to say, confusion aside, many were very inventive and cute outfits. In support of cat ladies I was very excited to see this months Cat Lady Box  (*spoiler alert* – It contains cat ears)It makes me happy to say that this is the fifth month and the first “special editions” box. Each month it is just as good as the previous month, (see previous reviews here). Despite the previous months printed boxes, this one was the stamper version. I have to admit that I like the printed name and log on the box as opposed to the irregularity of the stamped boxes. Despite this minimal complaint the box contents were nothing short of creative and diverse.

My Paper Pumpkin October 2015 Review

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of My Paper Pumpkin/Stamping Up, but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

My Paper Pumpkin October 2015 Kit Review and Giveaway

My Paper Pumpkin October 2015I have mentioned that I have been personally affected by breast cancer, as most of us have. The moment that you discover somebody you love has breast cancer, is a life changing moment. The life change effects not only the cancer patient but everybody around them.

Jason had his own life changing moment approximately 2 months after we began dating. Jason and I were driving and he received a call from a fellow family member telling him that another close family member had been diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. Ahead of him was a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of worries – all the while balancing a new relationship and falling in love – a conflict of emotions to say the least.

My Paper Pumpkin October Breast Cancer BoxDue to Jason’s close connection to the breast cancer cause and due to my connection to breast cancer, we support the many breast cancer organizations and awareness agencies. So it goes without saying that I was thrilled with this months My Paper Pumpkin box.

The first thing that I noticed was that the box was not its typical red color, but a bright pink! On the opening flap was the Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon and the words “Together we make a difference”. Also included in this months box was a flyer stating that for every subscriber they donated $1.00 and an additional $1.00 if this was your first month receiving the monthly box to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation,

I had the chance to review My Paper Pumpkin’s kit box’s previous months box (click here). I was excited to be given the chance to review this months box as well. The box for October was called “Blissful Bouquet”.
