Since I spend many hours on my computer I have discovered that this constant state of sitting necessitates the need for comfortable clothes. My favorite outfit is a pair of yoga pants, a tank top and a t-shirt and always with a comfy pair of socks. The major reason for this level of comfort you want to be as comfortable as possible when you are sitting as much as I do each day. Due to this constant state of being I am always on the lookout for additions to my “work uniform”.
Last September I happened upon FiveFingerTees.com for the first time and at the time I was blown away!
Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – March 2016 Review and Giveaway
40 minutes — that is how long it took for the 2016 San Diego Comic Convention to sell out. In 2015 the tickets sold out in just under 60 minutes and this is a standard every year. Each year the geek universe descends upon San Diego in amounts many, it is also a great time to people watch.
The annual convention is held downtown, and very close to a place flush with bars and restaurants. This makes for the perfect opportunities to people watch and to meet friends that are in from out-of-town. The people watching is always fun and always entertaining, and this is largely due to the amount of people who dress up.
I have always had an appreciation for the people who dress up, down to each detail. Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription Box is a monthly reminder of this yearly convention. With the constant presence and reminders of the upcoming Batman and Superman I was eager to see Geek Fuels contribution. As with previous months I was eager to see what the red box contained and as usual I was not disappointed.
Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – January 2016 Review
Since I live in San Diego each year we have the geek universe descend upon us in the form of the yearly Comic Convention or Comic-Con as San Diegan’s call it. I was lucky enough to be able to attend “Con” back in the early 90’s when it was more comic book driven, and less big budget.
I think back on these early days, and I realize how far i have come in my geek evolution. Back in the early 90’s the big budget movies were the only ones that I really cared about. Now I appreciate the art, the cinema and story behind some of the smaller movies. I also now realize the talent and effort involved in creating the comics. Also back in those early days, the role-playing world was represented which worked well for me since my friends were role-players.
I have mentioned in the past that I am a nostalgic person. I often I wish I could travel back and watch and attend that first “Con” with the knowledge I have today. Each month I get my education expanded when I receive the monthly Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription Box celebrates those cartoon days. I was eager to open this months box and as with previous months I was eager to see what the box contained and I was not disappointed.
Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – December 2015 Review
I remember a time when cartoons were nothing more than a Saturday morning ritual. I remember those days before I knew what television seasons were, ratings and what a true solid story line was. There was a simplicity to what we watched, and the characters we loved.
Flash forward 30 years and the cartoon landscape is much different then it was when I was a child and when I stop, and consider, I think it is an over all positive thing. With the advance of cartoons being made into live action movies, this opens a child’s imagination in ways our minds could only dream of. My favorite live action adaptation of recent years has to be The Transformers trilogy – what stated as, what I considered, a boy cartoon has become something I love.
I am a nostalgic person and I often I wish I could travel back and experience the simplicity of the cartoon watching era and I am happy to say that this month Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription Box celebrates those cartoon days. I was eager to open this months box and as with previous months I was eager to see what the box contained and I was not disappointed.
Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – November 2015 Review
I am a child of the 80’s which means that I celebrated my 5th through 15th birthdays in the 1980’s. There is little that do not love about the 80’s from the fad, trends and culture. One of the first video game memories I have are from Mrs. Pac-Man. My childhood dentist and then orthodontist had a Mrs. Pac-Man game in the waiting room – i loved going to the dentist. I was unaware that there was a MR. Pac-Man for many years, and when I did discover him, I loved him as much as his Mrs.
I often say I wish I could go back to the simplicity of that era and I am happy to say that this month Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription Box went back in time with an 80’s for this months theme. I was eager to open this months box as I usually have been in previous months, I was eager to see what it contained. It had been announced that there would be an Officially Licensed Star Wars product, as well as a Pac-Man item, in the November box
Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – October 2015
There is a trend happening around the world that I would like to mention to all of my fellow animals lovers – the dressing up of animals. The outfitting of attire for animals is not a new trend, but one that has been around as long as animals have been domesticated.
As humans we tend to put our emotions into the animals, thinking that our desires are their desires when in fact this is not the case. There is no better way to express this than in the dressing of our feline friends. I am not sure when this began, but i think it is more our desire for laughter and “awws” than for the cats themselves. I would imagine that the dressed animal is uncomfortable and a bit confused. That being said, I dream up outfits and costumes for the Muggles and plans have been made.
Since Halloween just passed I saw many dressed up animal photos on my social media feeds and I have to say, confusion aside, many were very inventive and cute outfits. In support of cat ladies I was very excited to see this months Cat Lady Box (*spoiler alert* – It contains cat ears). It makes me happy to say that this is the fifth month and the first “special editions” box. Each month it is just as good as the previous month, (see previous reviews here). Despite the previous months printed boxes, this one was the stamper version. I have to admit that I like the printed name and log on the box as opposed to the irregularity of the stamped boxes. Despite this minimal complaint the box contents were nothing short of creative and diverse.
It is no secret that us bloggers spend many hours in front of our computers. This constant state of sitting makes the need for comfortable clothes almost a work uniform. My personal uniform is comfortable pants and a t-shirt, with a comfy pair of socks. The reason for this level of comfort is when you are sitting for a majority of the day, you want to be as comfortable as possible. I am always on the lookout for additions to my collection of comfortable clothes.
I recently happened upon FiveFingerTees.com and I have to say WOW! The first thing I noticed was the cartoon theme on the top banner. The fun banner let me know immediately that I had happened upon a fun website. I was right, they have so many shirts that I guarantee you will not be able to choose just one.
Five Finger Tees offers a wide (and I mean WIDE) variety of movie, television, sports, political, music, animal, zombie, video game and pop-culture t-shirts. There are many other varieties available and they even have humorous holiday shirts. The company is based in Boston Massachusetts and is completely family owned and operated.
