Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review: October 2015

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – October 2015

Cat Lady Box contents October 2015-1There is a trend happening around the world that I would like to mention to all of my fellow animals lovers – the dressing up of animals. The outfitting of attire for animals is not a new trend, but one that has been around as long as animals have been domesticated.

As humans we tend to put our emotions into the animals, thinking that our desires are their desires when in fact this is not the case. There is no better way to express this than in the dressing of our feline friends. I am not sure when this began, but i think it is more our desire for laughter and “awws” than for the cats themselves. I would imagine that the dressed animal is uncomfortable and a bit confused. That being said, I dream up outfits and costumes for the Muggles and plans have been made.

Since Halloween just passed I saw many dressed up animal photos on my social media feeds and I have to say, confusion aside, many were very inventive and cute outfits. In support of cat ladies I was very excited to see this months Cat Lady Box  (*spoiler alert* – It contains cat ears)It makes me happy to say that this is the fifth month and the first “special editions” box. Each month it is just as good as the previous month, (see previous reviews here). Despite the previous months printed boxes, this one was the stamper version. I have to admit that I like the printed name and log on the box as opposed to the irregularity of the stamped boxes. Despite this minimal complaint the box contents were nothing short of creative and diverse.

As it is each month, this months contents were catered to me and my feline companions and included the following:

Cat Lady T-shirtPurple Craze Cat Lady T-Shirt: This is exclusive to the Cat Lady Box and this is the ONLY place you can get one. This is a pre-shrunk lived in t-shirt is made in Florida and is the first shirt that incorporates a little but of color. I just love the feeling of this shirt and love that it will not shrink in the wash. The design was chosen from more than 75 contest entries, and met the requirements to be fun. funky, snazzy and cat themed. The purple color wa chosen for it’s Halloween feel, and the color is good year round.

Cat Ears on and off the headDeluxe Fuzzy Cat Ears: Truth be told, I was excited to see these, as I needed a Halloween costume. I ended up wearing my Cat Lady shirt from the July box, which provided a nice tail. Jason and I ended up having breakfast with my father that day, and I proudly wore my shirt with tail and my newly acquired cat ears. I got a couple of compliments that they looked like better quality then the store equivalent, which made sense when I read that they were hand-made in Los Angeles. Made of feather boa atop a thin band, this was the perfect accent for my “cattification”.

Felt Planet CoastersCat Head Drink Coasters: These are made by feltplanet. These are hand-made in Pennsylvania and are made of 100% German Marino Wool Felt. These are a nice size measuring 4.25″ x 4.25″ and are in the shape of a cat head. Honestly when I saw them I thought someone took Maggee’s head and made coasters from it’s shape. These are super cute and i can not wait to use them when I have friends over.

Mauve Moose Mouse ToyBlack Cat Mouse: This is a cute mouse toy, that is hand-made. This is stuffed with potent organic catnip – I know this because of Murfee’s instant response to this toy. The purple in the toy matches the purple in this months t-shirt – we can matchy-match.

Junk Food FlyersJunkfood Flyers: This is a Eco-friendly recycled cat food bags toy. The used car food bags are cut into fun shapes and combined with felt circles to create a crunchy colorful toy. Just like snowflakes , no two toys are alike, and these are hand-made in the USA by Hauspather.

Denise Every Featured Cat Lady ArtistPostcard – by Denise Every: The artist of this postcard is an animal lover from upstate New York. Always using color in her drawings it can range from abstract, impressionist and even realistic. This postcard doubles on its opposite side as a manifest listing the products contained in the box.

It is an added bonus to the cat community that each month 5% of profits go to cat rescues, also giving subscribers an opportunity to nominate an organization to be a beneficiary of Cat Lady Boxes generosity.

I have said that if I was able I would give this box to all of my cat loving friends and I still feel that same way! This would make a perfect gift for the upcoming holidays for the cat lover in your life! Also available are 1 month gift subscriptions, just in time for the holidays!

Be sure to check back next year when I introduce you our spider and vampire.
