Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – November 2015 Review

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – November 2015 Review

November Geek Fuel Total Box ContentsI am a child of the 80’s which means that I celebrated my 5th through 15th birthdays in the 1980’s. There is little that do not love about the 80’s from the fad, trends and culture. One of the first video game memories I have are from Mrs. Pac-Man. My childhood dentist and then orthodontist had a Mrs. Pac-Man game in the waiting room – i loved going to the dentist. I was unaware that there was a MR. Pac-Man for many years, and when I did discover him, I loved him as much as his Mrs.

I often say I wish I could go back to the simplicity of that era and I am happy to say that this month Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription Box went back in time with an 80’s for this months theme. I was eager to open this months box as I usually have been in previous months, I was eager to see what it contained. It had been announced that there would be an Officially Licensed Star Wars product, as well as a Pac-Man item, in the November box

Included in this months box was the following:

Assemble the Resistance Geek Fuel T-shirtExclusive Geek Fuel T-Shirt – $10.00 T-Shirt – ‘Assemble the Resistance’ This months t-shirt is designed to evoke replica model building in a galaxy far away. The blueprints are provided and it is up to you to build your own Resistance Fighter.

Pac Man Salt and Pepper PotsPac-Man Salt & Pepper Shakers – $14.72  – These are the iconic ghost men, from Pac-Man. I have to admit that I love these and they may be brought out for special occasions only. These characters are known as Inky and Clyde and are as recognizable as ever!

Ghostbusters CardsGhostbuster’s Playing Cards – $9.99 – I am sure I am like most people and get tired of the plain old deck of cards. This is a typical card set with a Ghostbuster’s theme. Each of the suit cards have a iconic character from the movies and will make any Ghostbuster’s fan smile.

War Never Changes FallOut 4 posterWar Never Changes Poster – $5.00  – This poster celebrates the Wasteland’s message that War Never Changes. Fans of Fallout series will hear Ron Perlman saying this in the introduction. This house has been looking forward to the release of Fallout 4 and we were not disappointed. This is one addictive game, and this poster will remind you of why!

Vault Tec Badge and Mockingjoy StickerVault-Tec Vault Giveaway Badge and Mockingjay Sticker ($2.00): This month included a Vault-Tec Giveaway that gave badge holders (box recipients) the chance to win the Ultimate Fallout Giveaway including a PS4 Fallout Pack to name a few. DealsAmongUs was not a winner unfortunately, but I love the memorabilia badge for our bulletin board. Also included was a Mockingjay sticker celebrating the final Hunger Games movie.

20151208_124348Defense Grid 2 – $10.00  – Not only is a game included in this months pack, but also a 50 page book on the making of the game. Defense Grid 2 is  tower defense game that includes player-vs-player and multi-player co-op modes.

The 80’s are long over, but there are some enduring and indelible characters from that long ago era. I love that through the geek lifestyle these characters are never gone, nor forgotten and that through our love of these images. I will never be able to go back, but I can rest knowing that the 80’s will forever live on!
