When Jason and I were kids we were surrounded by nothing but open land for as far as the eye could see.

There are stories of Jason bringing home buckets full of baby rattlesnakes. Apparently one afternoon Jason ventured into the wide open land we had and went snake hunting (he even had special pants for this endeavor). While he was hunting snakes he also came upon the all two common alligator lizard and blue belly lizards.

Naturtint Colorant: Combining Two Colors Review + Giveaway

When you reach a certain age, change becomes not only harder but can be nearly impossible. The one change that can be made easily, and still make an impact is to ones hair. I used to color my hair for a change, and now I am coloring it to hide the grey that is slowly taking over in portions to large to ignore.

When I was young I was blessed with a very light-colored blond that could only be described as a bleach blond. As I aged my hair darkened into a more sandy blond, which remained through out my early teens, when I discovered the wonder of hair coloring.

I began taking my blond into the brown family, and then I went drastic – I went magenta! I made a deal with my father that I would not veer far off blond until after my senior photo. Shortly there-after the red shades were introduced to my hair, and I stayed red until my late 20’s. When I was in my 30’s I decided to go back to basics and go back to blond. I stripped my hair, and went back to blond.

Since then, to combat the emerging grey, I stick to colors close to the original coloring’s. I have been noticing the emergence of this grey, and it’s attempted take over of my head. Last year I reviewed Naturtint, which is a plant-based hair coloring company that is family owned!

When you start making meals at home, there are certain tools that make the job easier. There are the obvious time savers like knives, and chopping and frying.

On the flip side there are the tools that will make life easier, but as beginning home chefs these items are unknown to us. Since we are cooking at home more we are adding salads and fruits to our meals as a side note to the protein.

I have always loved coloring and when I can combine coloring and elements of nature I am more than game.

Up until the last year I had not had much interaction or knowledge of mandalas. Since that time I have come to love and appreciate these circular works of art. I not only love the mandalas, but when elements of nature are included it makes the image mean something.

Sometimes as cat guardians we are put into funny and odd positions. As the humans we are the source of love and attention, but we are also responsible to clean their litter boxes and clean up hairballs when they invariable come up.

It is difficult for non-cat owners to understand why after the bad we would continue to love these furry mess makers. One of the best ways that I express my cat lady love to my friends is through the sending of cards. The stamps that I like the best are the ones that integrate my love of cats.

Newmans Own Organic Cat Food Review

Newman’s Own Organic: Wet and Dry Cat Food Review and Giveaway

Since I have adopted cats I have learned a lot about the feline species. One of the biggest things I have learned is about their taste buds.

Often we make strawberries with fresh whipped cream on the top and every time I make whipped cream my girl Maggee wakes up out of her slumber and stands at full attention. Each time she does this I immediately give her some cream. She is usually done after a couple licks, and back to sleep she goes. Until recently I was under the belief she loved my whipped cream, and as it turns out cats can not taste sugar and sweet, it must have been the plain cream she loves. My other cat, Murfee has no interest in this creamy treat and tuns his nose up on such indulgences.

To say the least we have two different eaters in our house, which makes finding a cat food that both animals like can be a challenge at times. I have taken it on as a challenge of sorts – can I find a list of foods that both cats will love. Recently i reviewed Newman’s Own Organic food and loved it, and when I found out they had a line of pet food under the label Newman’s Own Pet Food knew I had to let the two cats try it.
