Little Debbie’s Holiday 2015 Giveaway

 **Little Debbie Holiday 2015 Giveaway**

I am not going to lie, we are Nutty Bar fans! In Jason and I’s opinion there are few treats better than a frozen Nutty Bar. When I received an email inquiring if I wanted to giveaway a Little Debbie’s Holiday Treat box, I knew it would be the perfect holiday treat! Then I received an email later that stated I would receive a box of my own, and it would include a Holiday themed Nutty Bar and it became clear I had made the right decision.

ToGoSpa Society Monthly Subscription Box  –  Review & Giveaway

ToGoSpa Society Monthly SubscriptionI have mentioned in the past that I grew up with a single father. While this had many advantages there was also disadvantages. I grew up thinking that I might be missing the “girly” gene. I seemed to not be interested in fashion – I was happy in my spandex pants and hyper-color shirts. I was not interested in make-up instead sticking to one type of liquid foundation and powder into my early 20’s. The other thing that was lacking in my life was “spa days”.

I always heard of my female counterparts spending all of their Saturdays at the spa. The before prom preparations always included the typical “spa-day” for my peers but not for me. I spent the day of prom and dances having breakfast with my father, the afternoon at a friends house and then when only 45 minutes remained until pick up time I would get ready.

I always have wanted to do a “spa-day”, yet the cost always seemed quite prohibitive and seemed a long day out, despite there being a world-class day spa practically in my back yard. I am happy to say that I may have finally been able to get the “spa” experience in the comfort of my home with ToGoSpa’s Society Monthly Subscription Box.

Sauce Goddess PopcornWe are approaching one of my food related favorite times of the year. This is because this is when caramel popcorn become abundant in stores, online and most importantly, in my life. I love the tins that the popcorn’s comes in this time of year and have begun amassing a collection of these additional storage spaces.

I have long thought it would be great to twist the caramel with spices and create a more savory popcorn. I am happy to say that I am not alone in my wishes and have come upon that savory caramel popcorn that my taste buds desire – Sauce Goddess Salted Caramel Corn.

Kitty Shack Review

Kitty Shack Review

Kitty Shack BoxAnyone who is a regular reader of our review will know that we love our cats, Maggee and Murfee. Our house is very cat friendly with high up places to sleep, down low places to sleep, toys in many corners and many things dangle for them to bat at.

I am always looking for a soft thing to put on the floor to add to their comfort. I have tried cat beds that you get at the local pet stores, and they become toy holders. I have tried a homemade thick quilted bed, as well as a fleece dog bed with no interest from them whatsoever. So when I received the Kitty Shack I was not very hopeful.

Earnest Eats Review

Earnest Eats Review and Giveaway

Collage of productsAs I review blogger I get items for review in a variety of ways that range from press releases to simple pitches from companies. While these are the most common ways I acquire my review items, there is another way.

One night Jason and I were sitting around watching Food Network, as we often do. A new show came on called Food Fortunes and one of the companies featured was Earnest Eats. The gave the panel a sample of their hot and fit cereal. The product looked so good on television that I decided to reach out for a sample.

Savannah Bee Company Review

Savannah Bee Company Review and Giveaway

All 4 items Savannah Bee CompanyI am a fan of honey- the best is when at the bottom of hot tea the hunk of honey! My father swears by Manuka honey from everything from scratches to burns. Jason and I are much more skeptical and tend to buck against fads and the like, which honey tends to fall into. The reality is that once I began looking at all the things that honey can be used for, I am left wondering if there is anything that honey can NOT do?

My Paper Pumpkin October 2015 Review

My Paper Pumpkin October 2015 Kit Review and Giveaway

My Paper Pumpkin October 2015I have mentioned that I have been personally affected by breast cancer, as most of us have. The moment that you discover somebody you love has breast cancer, is a life changing moment. The life change effects not only the cancer patient but everybody around them.

Jason had his own life changing moment approximately 2 months after we began dating. Jason and I were driving and he received a call from a fellow family member telling him that another close family member had been diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. Ahead of him was a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of worries – all the while balancing a new relationship and falling in love – a conflict of emotions to say the least.

My Paper Pumpkin October Breast Cancer BoxDue to Jason’s close connection to the breast cancer cause and due to my connection to breast cancer, we support the many breast cancer organizations and awareness agencies. So it goes without saying that I was thrilled with this months My Paper Pumpkin box.

The first thing that I noticed was that the box was not its typical red color, but a bright pink! On the opening flap was the Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon and the words “Together we make a difference”. Also included in this months box was a flyer stating that for every subscriber they donated $1.00 and an additional $1.00 if this was your first month receiving the monthly box to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation,

I had the chance to review My Paper Pumpkin’s kit box’s previous months box (click here). I was excited to be given the chance to review this months box as well. The box for October was called “Blissful Bouquet”.

Zotos Professional 180PRO Review

Zotos Professional 180PRO Review and Giveaway

Zotos 180 RecoveryI have been lucky, overall, with my hair over the years. Despite my constant drastic coloring changes and my near constant perming when I was young, my hair looks good today. I am lucky that a “hair” over 40 my hair looks good.

The one major complaint that I have is I have always had a problem with frizz. When I was young I mistakenly brushed my hair with a perm (I will pause for you to imagine that), and I believed once I stopped that foolish practice I would no longer suffer from frizz. Since I am all about the honesty, I will say that it looked as though I stuck my finger in a light socket!

Since I still have frizzy hair most days, I am constantly looking for something that will keep the shine but remove the frizz. I was recently sent a new combination system that might just help the frizz – Zotos Professionals Smooth + Soft Recovery Discovery Kit.

Mrs. Thinsters Waffle Crisps Review

Mrs. Thinster’s: Waffle Crisps Review and Giveaway

Mrs Thinsers Waffle CrispsLearning to cook is much more than just main dish, and to be a well-rounded home cook many items need to be learned including appetizers and desserts. I have always been a baker but I wanted to get into a fresher more seasonal type dessert. Jason and I have begun making “fruit yummies” for desserts lately. Basically “fruit yummies” are fruits that are macerated and drained, then put in a bowl with homemade whipped cream and topped with vanilla sugar and usually a crispy element.

One day while we were walking through the local store looking for different elements for our newest dessert craze we were sadly, coming up empty. We debated chocolate cookies but we did not want a chocolate element involved. Jason suggested that we use our waffle maker to make our own version of the waffle cookies we saw in the store. Unfortunately this ended up being much more work than anticipated – then a solution arrived – Mrs. Thinster’s Waffle Crisps.

Repurpose Review

Repurpose Review and Giveaway

Repurpose all 3 itemsThe most memorable party I have ever had has to be one of the more recent parties that has been attended. Many people are unaware that my husband Jason and I eloped and kept the secret for much longer then regularly heard of. One evening I could not keep the secret from my father any longer, and mostly spurred by my new in-laws discovering our secret first, we went to speak to my father. After a little shock, silence and obligatory eye rolls, things mellowed and acceptance was in view.

Since I have celebrated every major milestone with a party of some variety, this news of marriage was no different. Shortly after the bombshell news, my father volunteered to throw us the reception we were unable to have a couple of years earlier. I went into party planning mode and settled on a beach theme since we had recently bought our house near the coast.

The one downside to parties and party planning is the amount of trash that is generated. I shutter at the amount of plates, cups and plastic ware gets thrown away and ultimately lands into our local landfills. The party planner in me is happy to say that I may have found a solution to that dreaded trash generation problem – Repurpose.
