As regular readers will know, we are a cookie house, and a fan of all things sweet!

Up until a couple of years ago I was not the biggest fan of caramel flavored cookies or cakes, then I met my husband, and after always sampling his desserts, I have a new appreciation for this flavorful treat.

Since I am always on the lookout for different cookies, when I saw that Mrs. Thinster’s has two Limited Edition flavor’s for the holidays it was as though they knew the flavors for our house.

There is no denying it, we are entering the fall season. With the fall season comes the arrival of pumpkin season.

One of my favorite things is pumpkin pie – from the crunchy crust, smooth center and whipped topping. There is nothing better and nothing rings in the holiday season quite like pumpkin does.

Reviv3 Procare – 3 Part System Review and Giveaway

When I was a teenager I used to get perms. Alright, I am understating that fact a bit – I got them every 6 weeks. I also did not go for the typical curly perm, I went for the more complicated and more chemical filled spiral perms.

The thing is that I did not utilize the curl the perm provided, I went for the frizz that the brushed curls produced. There were to big problem’s with this – the first being that my hair looked like I stuck my finger in an electric socket, the second being this constant perming and brushing was causing me to lose my already thin hair.

Since my hair had sustained a fair amount of abuse over the years, I am on a constant search for the right products that will restore my hair to its pre-perm glory. When I received an email that the previously only salon available Reviv3 Procare was becoming widely available I knew I wanted to give it a try.

Mrs. Thinster’s: Toasted Coconut Cookie Thins Review and Giveaway

It has been mentioned in the past that we are dessert people in my house. Up until recently each night Jason and I would make a macerated fruit mixture, atop a crunchy bottom, homemade whipped cream and crunchy topping.

Typically when we have these the “go-to” crunchy bottom is a selection of Mrs. Thinsters Cookie or Waffle Cookies. We have made this dessert many times, and for our friends and loved ones. One night while we were sitting enjoying an evening and dessert with friends, it was suggested that we added a toasted coconut to the top.

The topic of luck and fate is spoken of often on this blog, and this is no exception. As I was preparing to toast up some coconuts, I heard that my “go-to” crunchy element was now available in toasted coconut in the form of Mrs. Thinsters Cookie Thins in Toasted Coconut.

Mrs. Thinster’s: Waffle Crisps Review and Giveaway

Learning to cook is much more than just main dish, and to be a well-rounded home cook many items need to be learned including appetizers and desserts. I have always been a baker but I wanted to get into a fresher more seasonal type dessert. Jason and I have begun making “fruit yummies” for desserts lately. Basically “fruit yummies” are fruits that are macerated and drained, then put in a bowl with homemade whipped cream and topped with vanilla sugar and usually a crispy element.

One day while we were walking through the local store looking for different elements for our newest dessert craze we were sadly, coming up empty. We debated chocolate cookies but we did not want a chocolate element involved. Jason suggested that we use our waffle maker to make our own version of the waffle cookies we saw in the store. Unfortunately this ended up being much more work than anticipated – then a solution arrived – Mrs. Thinster’s Waffle Crisps.

Kinnikinnick Soft Donut Review

Kinnikinnick Donuts: Soft Donut and Pumpkin Spice Review and Giveaway

I have high standards where donuts are concerned and I think I have good reason to feel this way. I happen to live in donut heaven – I literally live less than 2 blocks from one donut shop and less than 5 miles from another with to many to number in between. I know this does not sound like the reasoning I gave you, but these two donut shops happen to be the top two donut shops in North San Diego County.

My favorite donut of all time has to be a chocolate cream filled with a round puffed pastry. The chocolate plays off the cream and donut dough perfect. Jason is a little more of a traditionalist in that he likes the chocolate old-fashioned. The common thread is the chocolate on the donuts. During the holidays I love a good tasting pumpkin donut and if icing is included then I am a very happy donut consumer.

The production of pumpkin donuts does not generally begin until October and abruptly ends in late December. At least that is how it has been, until now – Kinnikinnick Foods is proud to announce that their previously seasonal and regionally limited Pumpkin Spice donuts are now a permanent part of their product line and available year round. Also new to the Kinnikinnick Foods family is Soft Donuts with Vanilla Icing in addition to their existing Chocolate Donuts and Cinnamon Sugar Donuts.
