I live near two world famous zoo’s and the diversity and the breadth of animals contained in those gates astound me. The animal that fascinates me more than the others are the lions. The lions are tall, strong, majestic and mostly a mystery. The house cat is a domesticated version of the lion and they are equally mysterious.

I love to get lost in the thought of animals, and I imagine what animals combined to create the colors of many of the animals in our world. I like to imagine the colors, and the combinations and create an animals coloring from my imagination.

I have reviewed the newer editions in the coloring book collection of Wendy Piersall and so it is nice to see where it began. The book entitled Coloring Animal Mandalas by Wendy Piersall takes the combination of animals and mandalas and makes them into one magical image!

Boutique Socks at Modern Boho Review and Giveaway

One of my favorite foot wear items I own are a black pair of boots. These are by a well-known shoe company and they are very comfortable. I actually have a second pair in a different color and they are equally comfortable. I love to wear my boots under long skirts, or with jeans. I am also a proud child of the 80’s when leg warmers were popular, and honestly on the plain side.

The one struggle I seem to encounter quite often is that when I wear socks with my boots, my socks seem to get sucked into some strange abyss that exists only at the bottom of my boots. I also love the idea of wearing leg warmers under my skirts on chilly days – although at times these extra layers of warmth are over kill in sunny California.

I am lucky though, even though I live in a sun filled paradise I still get chilly really easy. What this means is that I can benefit year round from warm cloths. I recently was sent a couple of items from ShopModernBoho.com, including a pair of boot socks and leg warmers.

Sun Bum Shampoo and Conditioner Review and Giveaway

Sometimes it is easy to forget how lucky I am. I was lucky to grow up less than 5 miles from the beach, and now as a homeowner I live a mere 1/4 mile from one of the most world renowned beaches in the United States.

The ocean is a vast and quite the mystery. The mystery being an answer to a question that is always being asked. On breezy days we can smell the saltwater coming off the ocean and feel the ocean breeze. My neighbors are all a decade or younger than my husband and I, and spend their days as mermen and mermaids. Despite this age divide we have one common thread, our mutual respect for the ocean.

As a kid that grew up so close to the ocean, I often had sun bleached hair that tended towards white the early part of life. As I have gotten older, I take much better care of my hair, but I still worry about sun damage and those relentless UV rays. I rarely use additional product and I let my hair air dry, but it really starts with my shampoo and conditioner. I recently received a bottle of Sun Bum Shampoo and Conditioner.

As an aunt and uncle to some truly wonderful kids we think often of the world and the environment that they will be inheriting from us. We think more about long-term sustainability and really what is sitting in landfills for generations to come to discover. Jason likes to be able to swap out his toothbrush in a fairly regular interval, therefore our contribution to landfills has been considered.

Stopain Migraine: Topical Pain Relieving Gel Review and Giveaway

As regular readers may know, I am generally skeptical about natural health products. I have never really believed that taking a herb or applying a topical mixture can make my life and health better. I am a big believer in western medicine and the science that tends to support mainstream treatments. I am happy to say though that as I get older my opinion is changing. I am slightly over 40 and I realize that this body, these organs and my brain are the only ones that I am going to get and I better take care while i can. For this reason, I am now looking into the remedies that I once eschewed.

Recently, coincidentally on a day where a migraine seemed eminent, I was approached by Stopain Migraine Topical Pain Relieving Gel Now normally I would have hit the reject button and moved on, but the idea of natural migraine relief seemed appealing. So as history now shows, I hit accept instead of reject and hoped that this might be the assistance I so desire in dealing with these migraine headaches.

Coloring Ocean Mandalas: 30 Hand-Drawn Designs for Mindful Relaxation Review and Giveaway

I am a lucky gal, I live a mere stones throw from the ocean as the crow flies. When you really do the journey it is down a one hill and basically up one right next door and about 200 steps at the top to the right and boom: the ocean!

On windy days the ocean breeze becomes clear and I can smell is as if I was actually at the ocean. The ocean makes appearances throughout our life from the name of our network to the name of our cars – the ocean’s presence in our life is clear.

I have seen many coloring books but few related specifically to mandalas and the ocean, until I heard about a new coloring book called Coloring Ocean Mandalas: 30 Hand-Drawn Designs for Mindful Relaxation by Wendy Piersall.

I have a confession – when I started this blog I was not the most knowledgeable about the gluten-free world. In the past year and change I have learned so much about gluten, why gluten is bad and why it could enter life threatening levels for Celiacs. This has been an invaluable education and one that while I did not necessarily choose at first it is one that I am thankful for learning about. I have a new appreciation for the gluten-sensitive community, as luck would have it I am also now a sufferer of gluten sensitivities.
