Stopain Migraine: Topical Pain Relieving Gel Review and Giveaway
As regular readers may know, I am generally skeptical about natural health products. I have never really believed that taking a herb or applying a topical mixture can make my life and health better. I am a big believer in western medicine and the science that tends to support mainstream treatments. I am happy to say though that as I get older my opinion is changing. I am slightly over 40 and I realize that this body, these organs and my brain are the only ones that I am going to get and I better take care while i can. For this reason, I am now looking into the remedies that I once eschewed.
Sadly for me I am a migraine sufferer, and it is not pleasant. I tend to get a migraine when I cry too much, when I am stressed out or when the day ends in “y”. There is no rhyme or reason to my migraine onsets, despite diaries kept and observation made. About 10 years ago I thought I had found the magical combination of medications to help me, and then the manufacturers took the main component off the market. Since that decision I have searched for a cure and the more natural the better.
Recently, coincidentally on a day where a migraine seemed eminent, I was approached by Stopain Migraine Topical Pain Relieving Gel Now normally I would have hit the reject button and moved on, but the idea of natural migraine relief seemed appealing. So as history now shows, I hit accept instead of reject and hoped that this might be the assistance I so desire in dealing with these migraine headaches.
Stopain Migraine Topical Pain Relieving Gel is a clear topical gel that is the first topical gel formulated specifically for migraine pain relief and can be used at any stage of a migraine.
I am often asked two questions, the first being “What does a migraine feel like?” and “What is a migraine exactly?”. The answer to the first question is that the feeling of a migraine is different as each snowflake or fingerprint. For me, I get the feeling of having an ice pick hammered into one side of my head, all the while fighting off blinding nausea. Many people suffer from photo phobia, where light bothers them and effects them negatively, I do not generally suffer from this, but I can be noice sensitive. The pain is the worst I can imagine and it is scary knowing something in my head is causing that much pain, and I wonder at times if it will ever break.
The second question’s answer about “What is a migraine?” is more of a generalized answer, but with different descriptions depending on who you ask. A primary care provider describes migraines differently than a neurologist would. Each physician knows migraines, but the description may differ. The generally accepted definition, per Wikipedia is the following –
“a recurrent throbbing headache that typically affects one side of the head and is often accompanied by nausea and disturbed vision“
When I began to feel the tell-tale signs of a migraine I decided to give the Amazon a whirl. The instructions were simple and was an easy airless pump into my fingers and an easy application to the back of the neck behind my ear, on each side of my neck. The best part is that I had the ability to reapply when I was starting to feel discomfort (up to 4 times daily per the instructions). The first thing that I noticed was a menthol odor, which made sense since one of the first ingredients is Mentholum. Also included as an ingredient was Belladonna, Iris Versacolor and Sanguinaria Canadensis which are all use as migraine pain relievers.
Once I applied this gel I tried to divert my attention, so that I was not thinking and could give this gel a real shot at working without my thoughts clouding it. It was about an hour and half later that Jason came home, and I remember not feeling any pain. I thought that this might have been a fluke, so I tried a second time the next time I had a migraine coming. This time I had about 5 hours before Jason arrived home, but again once he arrived home I was pain-free.
I am no longer sad that my “go-to” migraine medication is no longer available – I have finally found a new one. Despite my skeptical nature about natural medicines the advantages outweigh the cost of taking a chance. My favorite thing is that because Stopain Migraine Topical Pain Relieving Gel is all natural, if the need arise for their medication I can add that my fighting arsenal. There are no known drug interactions, so you can fight your migraine with all you have.

Thank you for the chance to win. I have started to get migraines again after a 15 year break. They are horrible. Still need to see the neurologist but would try anything to help.
A few drops of wintergreen essential oil mixed with some almond oil and rub along side my temples.
Usually I take Excedrin for Migraines, extra strength. I’ve been really looking for other remedies. When I get a migraine, it usually lasts for about 3 days and I get a couple each month. Never heard of Stopain Migraine, but it sounds very interesting.
What I use a Vicodin with a lot of Coca-‘Cola (because the caffeine helps). I’d like to get away from the drugs, I know they’re not healthy for me.
I’ve had complex migraines for many years. They sometimes manifest with like a stroke and it is VERY SCARY as I was only in my 20’s when I first started getting them. I’d have them many days per month and they were quiet debilitating. I tried every pill under the sun but they didn’t work and the side effects didn’t help my quality of life. I was so desperate to find something to help. My mother suggested acupuncture. My migraines have significantly gone down as well as the symptoms aren’t as serious as they were
I love using essential oils, thanks so much!
I usually drink soda or massage my head.
Sleep is the only sure-fire way I’ve found to get rid of my migraines… I’d love to try this out!!
My go-to headache cure depends on how bad my headache ism sometimes tylenol, aleve or advil works but sometimes my head hurts so bad nothing works, I will use cold clothe and go in dark room and hope it stops soon!
First thing I always try is to drink a big glass of water. Sometimes it works.
I usually try Advil but would love to find something that works better!
Dark and quiet are pretty much the only things that I have found to work for my bad headaches.
Tylonol, darkness and a cold washcloth on my forehead.
