Sun Bum Shampoo and ConditionerSometimes it is easy to forget how lucky I am. I was lucky to grow up less than 5 miles from the beach, and now as a homeowner I live a mere 1/4 mile from one of the most world renowned beaches in the United States.

The ocean is a vast and quite the mystery. The mystery being an answer to a question that is always being asked. On breezy days we can smell the saltwater coming off the ocean and feel the ocean breeze. My neighbors are all a decade or younger than my husband and I, and spend their days as mermen and mermaids. Despite this age divide we have one common thread, our mutual respect for the ocean.

As a kid that grew up so close to the ocean, I often had sun bleached hair that tended towards white the early part of life. As I have gotten older, I take much better care of my hair, but I still worry about sun damage and those relentless UV rays. I rarely use additional product and I let my hair air dry, but it really starts with my shampoo and conditioner. I recently received a bottle of Sun Bum Shampoo and Conditioner.

I received a 10.5 ounce bottle of Sun Bum Shampoo and Conditioner. The first thing that I noticed was the smell and how good it was. Let me preface this by saying that I have always loved the smell of banana and that was the first thing I smelled.

These made in the USA shampoo and conditioner bottle’s are SLS free, Alcohol Free, Paraben-Free, Cruelty-Free and Silcone-Free, which means it is safe to use whatever age you are. Sum Bum’s Beach Formula is made to protect hair from the suns UV (Ultra-violet) Rays damage. At the same time it helps prevent dull, brittle, frizzy and discolored hair.

I wondered how one shampoo and one conditioner could do that and when I began reading I learn that first it starts by cleaning out the salt water, chlorine, and environmental pollutants that get into our hair. The second thing it does is restores the hairs lost moisture and repairs the damage and provides some humidity resistance to hair.

I was curious how this would handle my frizzy and sometimes unruly hair. I found that this shampoo and conditioner combo not only made my hair smell AWESOME but as it dried (I let my hair dry naturally) I discovered that my hair has a new found calm. I love that it was clean and not nearly as frizzy as I am used to. This combination left my hair feeling light and not weighed down, which happens often living this close to the ocean.

What all this really means is that if you are a beach loving, water dipping ocean fan this combination will help repair and protect your hair. I plan on purchasing some for my mermen and mermaid friends – go get some before summer hits!

    OH thats a tough one! I would say I am torn 50/50. I love the ocean, but hate how damaging the sun is on your skin! I also love hiking in the mountains, but I am terrified of bears!

    That’s a tough one I live in the white Mountains of New Hampshire and the air here you just can’t get that smell anywhere else. But when we are in Florida I love the smell of the ocean I love sitting on the beacg hearing the ocean and birds. So it;s a tie for me 🙂 But I really could use that shampoo and conditior we are leaving for Florida the in April for few weeks.
