Coloring Animal Mandalas Review

Coloring Animal Mandalas Review and Giveaway

Coloring Animal Mandalas Coloring BookI live near two world famous zoo’s and the diversity and the breadth of animals contained in those gates astound me. The animal that fascinates me more than the others are the lions. The lions are tall, strong, majestic and mostly a mystery. The house cat is a domesticated version of the lion and they are equally mysterious.

I love to get lost in the thought of animals, and I imagine what animals combined to create the colors of many of the animals in our world. I like to imagine the colors, and the combinations and create an animals coloring from my imagination.

I have reviewed the newer editions in the coloring book collection of Wendy Piersall and so it is nice to see where it began. The book entitled Coloring Animal Mandalas by Wendy Piersall takes the combination of animals and mandalas and makes them into one magical image!

Coloring Animal Mandalas by Wendy Piersall is a perfect combination of mandalas with animals.

Coloring Animal MandalasEach of these images are hand-drawn pictures and include butterflies, tigers swans, snakes, peacocks, unicorns and seahorses. Each of the 30 hand drawn images are only on one side of the page to allow for removal and framing. It is important to mention that the pages are not perforated, so please take care if you plan to remove the pages. While this book smaller than the typical size – 7 ½” x 9 ¼”, the smaller size fits well with the varying design sizes.

I love all the books by Wendy Piersall, but I have a couple of recommendations in regards to this book. My first recommendation is that you use either fine tipped pens, colored pencils or well shaved crayons. Many of these images have thin lines and I think that fine tipped pens or shaved crayons would make this easier and less frustrating. My second recommendation is to place a piece of paper in between each page to guard against bleed through from the pen use, but also any indents on the other pages that can be caused by pressing down to hard on the page.

If you have forgotten how much you love to color, these books will remind you. These are thoughtful, and creative images that are fun to color. When I color I find relaxation and joy and a sense of freedom, much like animals – come be free with me!
