Paper Pumpkin September 2016 Kit Review

Paper Pumpkin – Something Good To Eat – September 2016 Kit Review and Giveaway

something-good-to-eat-kitThe neighborhood I live in is one in which we all know each other, and are friendly. Last year during the holidays I gave each of my neighbors a gift that I thought they might enjoy. The gifts ranged from mugs to pet gifts. The best part was that everyone loved it, and it inspired another neighbor who made all the neighbors fleece blankets.

In an effort to become best neighbor ever, I wanted to do something special for people for the upcoming Halloween holiday since we do not get trick or treaters. I had not decided the exact way I was going to deliver this treat, but as I often say, timing is everything.

When I received the September 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit “Something Good To Eat” happens to be the perfect way for me to deliver a small amount of treats to many neighbors.

Epsom Salt Rainbow DIY

Epsom Salt Rainbow DIY + Giveaway!!!!

epsom-salt-rainbowThere are few items as versatile as Epsom Salt.

Epsom Salt is a magnesium sulfate that is in an inorganic, which means that it does not consist of or derives from living matter or that are not organic. This is a salt that contains magnesium sulfur and oxygen. While it sounds complicated, really what you have is a versatile salt that can not be eaten but can be used on your body, beauty products and even stubborn dishes.

The largest issue that we have is stubborn dishes, the food gets caked on and making the clean up near impossible. Since Epsom Salt when used before you scrub your dishes, makes the clean up a little easier, I wanted a pleasing yet functional way to store my salt near the sink. After some contemplation, I decided on making a Rainbow of Epsom Salt.

Coloring Bird Mandalas Review

Coloring Bird Mandalas: 30 Hand-Drawn Designs for Mindful Relaxation Review and Giveaway

bird-mandalasI have always loved coloring and when I can combine coloring and elements of nature I am more than game.

Up until the last year I had not had much interaction or knowledge of mandalas. Since that time I have come to love and appreciate these circular works of art. I not only love the mandalas, but when elements of nature are included it makes the image mean something.

When I received the new coloring book Coloring Bird Mandalas: 30 Hand-Drawn Designs for Mindful Relaxation by Wendy Piersall I saw this combination come to reality and something I could be a part of.

Stampin’ Up: Pretty Kitty Stamp Set Review

Stampin’ Up – Pretty Kitty Stamp Set Review + Giveaway

pretty-kitty-stamp-setSometimes as cat guardians we are put into funny and odd positions. As the humans we are the source of love and attention, but we are also responsible to clean their litter boxes and clean up hairballs when they invariable come up.

It is difficult for non-cat owners to understand why after the bad we would continue to love these furry mess makers. One of the best ways that I express my cat lady love to my friends is through the sending of cards. The stamps that I like the best are the ones that integrate my love of cats.

Since I am always on the search for cute, high quality and useful cat themed items, when I saw the Pretty Kitty Clear-Mount Stamp Set I knew that it was the stamp set I had been wanting.

Holiday Parade: A Christmas Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

holiday-parade-adult-coloring-book-giveawayWhen I think of parades, there are two holidays that come to mind. The first is July 4th and the independence and the second is the Christmas.

Each year there is an annual parade in the county I live in and even the water there are holiday parades. There is something magical about seeing the snowmen, the Santa’s and the reindeer. My favorite is the colors and the lights, and the decorations. The moving images bring the holiday season to life in a very positive and happy way.

coloring-flower-mandala-postcardsI am a fan of sending happy mail to friends, family and acquaintances. I believe the art of sending postcards and cards through the mail has been replaced by quick messages on social media and two-line emails.

Since cards can take time to create and assemble it is nice to have an easy alternative. When I received the book Coloring Flower Mandala Postcards: 20 Hand-Drawn Designs for Mindful Relaxation by Wendy Piersall for review I knew I found my easy way to send a personalized greeting via mail.

New Belgium Brewing: Adult Coloring Book Review

New Belgium Brewing: Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

new-belgium-brewing-coloring-bookAs I drive around town I have noticed a new trend – craft breweries. I live in San Diego County and as luck would have it, the county is home to more than 100 breweries, microbreweries, and brewpubs which makes for many options for cuisine and beer.

The one brewery that is not near us is New Belgium, a craft brewery that is located in Ft. Collins Colorado. This craft brewery began on a bike ride through Belgium brewery to brewery. Through hard work and wide distribution New Belgium has become the 3rd largest craft brewery, and the 8th overall brewery in the United States.

Since my husband is a fan of craft breweries I knew when I saw the New Belgium Brewing: Adult Coloring Book this would be a book that we both would enjoy. Continue reading

Stampin’ Up: Oh Happy Day Card Kit Review

Stampin’ Up – Oh Happy Day Card Kit – Review and Giveaway

oh-happy-day-card-kit-completedAs time has gone on I have noticed that time is much more of a commodity. The goal now-a-days is to maximize time and consolidate tasks as much as possible.

I have noticed that as we get older events are brushed under the rug, and the dates that were once special no longer hold the same reverence.

The first time I realized this was in my mid-30’s and it was my birthday. I remembered days when I received cards in the mail, and phone calls from everyone in my phone list, and I noted that that birthday was different. It seems fitting that since I am all about nostalgia and celebration that I acknowledge dates otherwise pushed aside.

Since I am a traditional girl, I love to send cards to loved ones for holidays and events, and even my neighbors have received cards for their special days. When I saw the Oh Happy Day Card Kit I knew it would be the perfect for the occasions that I want to commemorate.

Take A Hike Adult Coloring Book Review

Take A Hike: An Outdoor Coloring Adventure Review and Giveaway

take-a-hikeOf all the things that I like doing there is one thing that I am not particularly fond of – Camping. There is a reason I feel this way – I had a bad camping experience, although I did not know it at the time. The person who took me camping believed in MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat – commonly consumed in the field in the military) as meals, rock climbing without teaching and sleeping on the rocks.

Now when I met my current husband, I relayed this camping adventure to him, and he with a horrified look told me that camping was not like that at all. As I sat there he told me of disappearing for the day fishing, his mom’s homemade food in the middle of Mammoth, and hiking with his sisters. I took his word as true, after all he had gone camping with his family 3 weeks every year since he was a kid!

When I received a copy of Take A Hike: An Outdoor Coloring Adventure by Blue Star Coloring and Jared Wright he was immediately taken back to those long days of fishing, camping and fireside chats. Continue reading

Labor of Love Co: DIY Soy Candle Kit Review

Labor of Love Co: DIY Soy Candle Kit Review and Giveaway

Finished CandlesAbout 10 years ago I decided I wanted to make candles for my family, friends and for myself. I purchased books, and diligently read whatever I could find online about candle making.

I found the process long, and honestly quite dangerous  – have you been burned by hot wax before? Needless to say that initial foray into candle making scared me and I decided to back off until the process was streamlined and not as complicated.

Recently Labor of Love Co reached out to me to review one of their DIY Soy Candle Boxes and since I enjoy making candles I accepted. I was also eager to see if the candle making process could be simplified and made with only the ingredients sent in a box.
