Kitty Kush Catnip Review and Giveaway

There is little to no doubt that our Murfee likes catnip and I will admit that we indulge him. I have attempted to grow my own for him, but each time something unexpected happens to the crop. The first time we had a heat wave with wind and before I knew it the plastic pot disappeared. The second time we almost had a full crop and then magically it was gone. I am not sure if a neighborhood cat stole it, ate it or the magical catnip trolls took it. This last time life got in the way and I just plain forgot to give it the needed water and love it needed.

We had read that catnip does not affect cats under 9 months old, or until they reach sexual maturity, so we waited until he was about a year old. Ever since the introduction was made, Murfee and catnip are two peas in a pod. I recently came across a new product called “Kitty Kush Catnip” that resembles a salt grinder but grinds cat nip instead!

Kitty Kush Catnip SpokescatsThe basic idea behind this product is that it comes prepacked with cat nip pellets that are infused with essential oils and compacted together. When you want to give your kitty some catnip all you do is turn the built in grinder much like you would turn a salt grinder. A little goes a long way due to the concentrated nature of this product – I literally did less then one full turn for Murfee and that was enough.

Mint-X: Rodent Repellent Trash Bags Review

Mint-X: Rodent Repellent Trash Bags Review and Giveaway

Mint-X Rodent Repellent Trash BagsWe here at DealsAmongUs are located on the coast. This has its advantages and it’s disadvantages. The advantages are as numerous as they are magical and range from being only 1/4 mile from the beach, being smack dab in the middle of some of the best carne asada burritos anywhere and always being walking distance from the ocean sunsets.

The disadvantages are really more like huge disturbances in everyday life. One of the biggest disadvantages is that our area gets raccoon’s and possum’s. These little friends come to our porch at night, peak the Muggles interests, and hunt for food as well as shelter of any kind. Often times they strike out, but have hit pay-dirt in the form of trash bags that get left until the morning.

Now this does not occur utterly often, but if it is late and really dark then the trash will get left until the morning. These night are generally few and far between, and make me hesitant to wake up (for fear of a mess that we will be forced to pick-up). I am happy to say that I may have found my solution to the worry I feel leaving the trash out overnight: Mint-X Rodent Repellent Trash Bags.

Sierra Nevada Soap Company Review

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Sierra Nevada Soap Company.

Sierra Nevada Soap Company Review and Giveaway

Sierra Nevada Soap Company
I originally came across Sierra Nevada Soap Company in the May Escape Monthly box (see review here). At that time I received the Rosemary Lavender and mentioned that it was the first thing in the box that I smelled. After this initial introduction I was curious if other soaps smelled as good so I reached out to the company and had the chance to review a couple more bars.

First thing I have to say is that I am happy to say that the smell the first time was not an anomole – it turns out other soaps by Sierra Nevada Soap Company smell just as good. I had the opportunity to review Lemongrass, Lemon Mint, Hawaiian Sea Salt and California Orange. I can not tell you which smelled the best because they all were beyond my expectations. On the back of each wrapper is not only the name of the scent, but also an inspiration quote.

All of Sierra Nevada Soap Companies soaps are made with fresh dried herbs and essential oils. Lye is never used, only 100% vegetable oils are contained in the soaps. Animals fats are not used and the scent with essential oils, color with fresh herbs and plant extracts – just pure ingredients.

SuperSeedz: Gourmet Pumpkin Seeds Review

SuperSeedz: Gourmet Pumpkin Seeds Review and GiveawaySuperSeeds Complete Product

If we like it or not fall is coming. With fall comes the annual tradition of carving the pumpkin. The best part of pumpkin carving, at least in my opinion, is the guts that come out of the pumpkin that is recently been slaughtered/carved. While the contents can be wet and goopy at times, there are treasures contained in the web of strings.

The seeds contained in the strings have many uses including being transformed into soup, being baked inside breads, included in trail mix and being baked with various seasonings. I have never been brave enough or confident enough in my abilities to make these myself but have always loved them. Lucky for me there is a company that is taking the wonderfulness of the pumpkin seed and mixing them with some expected and some unexpected spices.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to sample and review all of SuperSeedz flavors which included Maple Sugar & Sea Salt, Really Naked, Sea Salt, Cinnamon Sugar, Coco Joe, Tomato Italiano, Curious Curry, Somewhat Spicy and Super Spicy. I have given a better description to each below:

Cooler Can Monthly Subscription Review

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of CoolerCanMonthly.com.

Cooler Can Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – July 2015

Cooler Can Monthly July 2015When I was a child my father had a collection of these wraps that kept his beer cool. I never knew why or even how this worked but loved the wraps. The collection included flying themed (he was a pilot before I was born), dirty jokes (which went right over my 8-year-old head) and locations that were unknown at the time to me (I was to young to go into many of the establishments that served alcohol).

As I have aged I have begun to see the genius behind these can wraps. These wraps go by a couple of names including koozies, beer coolers and can coolers. Inspired by these koozies, Cooler Can Monthly was created. Cooler Can Monthly features 2 subscription options including the Backyarder Foam package and the Happy Camper Neoprene Package.

Each month Cooler Can Monthly searches for unique businesses to contact and partner with. Once contact has been made a month is schedule in which the koozie will be featured. Once that partnership has had been secured and the cooler can is featured and it is retired forever. At this point it is not available anywhere else.

I received both the subscription options for this review as well as a couple of past koozies. What I found to be the most fun about these koozies was going online and researching the featured koozie’s original location.

Cat Lady Monthly Subscription Box Review

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of CatLadyBox.com. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

Cat Lady Monthly Subscription Box Review and GiveawayCat Lady Box July 2015As many of my regular readers will know I am a feline fan. I refer to my 2 feline friends as “The Muggles” and like many owners my phone is full of cat pictures that show their unique and one of a kind personalities. Many people will dispute that cats have facial expressions and to many people if they have seen one, they have seen them all. Since I am review blogger my cats are my writing buddies during the day so I spend many hours with them.

In the past I have been referred to as a “Crazy Cat Lady” due to my love, and slight obsessive nature when it comes to photographs of the cats. I have always found this description offensive due to the fact that just because I love my animals unconditionally does not make me “crazy”. Due to the love I have for the feline species I am also a collector of cat items. I am always on the lookout for something new and cute to add to my collection. In my search I discovered Cat Lady Box.

Cat Lady Box was started with the belief that just because we are cat lovers that does not make us crazy. The goal is to change the perception of what it is to be a crazy cat lady. The premise behind Cat Lady Box is that each month you are sent anywhere from 2-5 items, depending on your box choice. The Cat Lady Box comes with 2-3 cat themed items for humans and the Crazy Cat Lady Box has the items in the 1st box plus 2 surprises for your feline friend(s).

I received the July 2015 box and could not have been happier with the contents (which I will be listing in detail below). There are a couple things that set this box apart from other boxes in the subscription box field. The first thing that sets them apart is that not only did they include a postcard manifest but a letter that gives a little back story on each item contained in the box. The second thing that I think sets them apart is the accessibility of the owner and creator. In the letter the owner invites subscribers to email her, and she will personally respond to each inquiry. I can attest that this is true, I have had a very nice correspondence while preparing this review with her.

The third thing that I think Cat Lady Box does is that it picks quality, thoughtful and unique items for the box. This box is not just a box of kitschy cat items, it a box that you and your cat can enjoy. As an example, this month I received the following in the “Crazy Cat Lady” box:

Hawaii Snack Box Subscription Review and Giveaway July 2015
Hawaii Snack Box July 2015

I live in what many people consider paradise. I live only 1/4 mile from a popular beach that is frequented by surfers, celebrities and everyone else. Not only am I a 1/4 mile away but I am sandwiched between some of the best coastline anywhere in California.

There is one place that beats this paradise I have in favor of more expansive coast lines (750 miles to be exact). There is a place where the same smattering of surfers, celebrities and everyone else gather. The place I speak of was the site if of a horrific military action, but instead of sadness is filled with hope, history and love. If you have not figured out this picturesque place I speak of, it is Hawaii.

I have wanted to visit Hawaii for as long as I remember (I want to see Pearl Harbor) and have seen friends have multiple visits while I am wishing for my one. I may not be able to travel there physically but I can get the flavors of Hawaii delivered to me on my coastline each month. This is where Hawaii Snack Box comes in. Each month Hawaii Snack Box includes 5-7 snacks in their subscription boxes. I was sent the July 2015 box for review and included in the box was the following:

Knock Knock Sticky Signs Review

Knock Knock Sticky Signs Review & Giveaway

There was a store in my town growing up that sold novelty and gag gift items. This store was my go to store for birthday and holiday gifts for many years. Sometime in the 1990’s the store closed, probably from declining sales and the shift to an online world. I loved this store despite not really understanding all the “double entendre’s” and the plays on words. Due to all the gag gifts, balloons and toys available this was my favorite store in town.

I have missed this store as I have gotten older and have wished there was a place to get these type of items. My wishing can finally end in that I have found an online version of the store of my youth – Knock Knock (isn’t the name so appropriate?).

Knock Knock was created in 2002 with the mission of creating witty design driven products. The products combine humor, function and organization with a touch of aesthetic appeal.

I live in a city that has outlawed and banned the use of plastic bags. I am truly torn about this development as the plastic bags have their own use in a house with 2 cats but the environmental impact caused by these bags is hard to ignore. Being that I am in this plastic bag less town we have invested a good amount of money into different variation’s of the “recyclable/reusable” bag.

I recently was sent a 4 piece kit that helps add to our collection of recyclable bags. Colortime Crafts and Markers was generous enough to send me 1 “Recycle” tote bag and 3 fabric markers (Blue, Yellow and Green) for me to make my own bag. Colortime Crafts and Markers offers ready to color craft items as well as fabric markers. This allows kids and adults to decorate and personalize products themselves.

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – July Box Review

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of GeekFuel.com. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – July 2015 ReviewGeek Fuel July 2015By now it is well known that I live in a geek household. I live with a Role Playing Gamer (RPG’er) and I have to admit that I am starting to become one myself. This is almost become a seamless transition into the dark side. I am a light happy person so being in and on the dark side is a bit different for me.

In my initiation over to the dark side there has been a learning curve. You may wonder what the learning curve entails. I discovered that the learning curve includes things such as the difference between a MMORPG and FPS, open world vs. linear story, side scrollers vs. adventure games and why experience points matter. Learning all this has been a little rough but I am happy to say I am starting to get it.

Since this induction into the geek world I appreciate all things geek and there are few things that pack as much geek punch as the monthly subscription box from Geek Fuel. I received the July themed Geek Fuel box and as I have been in previous months, I was pleasantly surprised. Also the July box was advertised as an entirely exclusive month and came as advertised. Included in this months boxes was the following:
