Love Taffy with a Custom Pack Gift Box Giveaway

Taffy abound

Sometimes the best gifts are the simple ones. While chocolate is delicious simplicity counts for a lot at during this time of declarations of love.

One of the easier treats is taffy with it’s combination of sugar, corn syrup, cornstarch, water, butter, salt, food coloring and flavorings. Using a whipping process and 24 hour-long batch conditioning process you get the purest and tastiest taffy.

Since I am such a fan of taffy and thoughtful simple gifts, there is nothing as simple in the treat arena as taffy. That is why I am thrilled to give one person a chance to win a 2lb custom box from Taffy Town! Continue reading

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – November 2016

november-2016-pet-treater-boxThere are few things that I remember loving when I was a child as much as I loved animals. I always thought it would be great to be a vet! As I have gotten older it became clear to me that I would be in a position that I would become attached to the animals that I was saving, and that would be the best quality for a vet. Despite my early career aspirations not coming to fruition I knew that the quality that made Vet Medicine not a correct choice, would make me a great Guardian.

Each day I strive to be the best Guardian and “sister” to all pets in my life, and I am attached to Meadow as if she was my own. I want the best for her, and I love spending time with her.

When I saw this months Pet Treater and the theme “Eat, Sleep and Be Thankful“, it reminded me of how thankful I was that I have a dog like Meadow I can spend time with and have special moments with, despite her living in a separate home. Continue reading

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – October 2016

barktober-fest-october-2016It is official – Meadow is 1 year old!

Since her birthday just passed I feel it appropriate to commemorate the last year of her life. In the past year she has seen the vet a couple times, she has recently discovered the dog park and other “doodles” just like her! She loves my father and my father sure does love her, and it is reflective each time I see the two of them interaction.

My favorite thing about Meadow is that she has learned that I am her human sister and when I call I always get a bark! When I saw this months Pet Treater and the theme “Barktober Fest“, it seemed appropriate with her one year of life. Continue reading

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – September 2016

september-2016-pet-treaterAs shocking as it seems, we are creeping closer to Meadow’s first birthday and she has grown leaps and bounds since her arrival into our lives.

Each time I see her she has such a excitement to see me, and I feel like it is the first time she is seeing me. When I call my father, I also must say the obligatory hello to Meadow. This past month when we went over to see her, she got some good run time from her human brother-in-law. I had not seen her interact with someone who would give her a good fight, and it was nice to see the teeth bare and the growl present.

Despite the tough demeanor, Meadow remained her sweet self and reminded me that she is “Ain’t Nothing But a Hound Dog” which happened to be this months Pet Treater theme.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – August 2016

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – August 2016

August Pet Treater Box and Meadow InvesigatingWe are embarking on Miss Meadow’s first birthday, and as the year has progressed as has her looks. Meadow is pure bred combination of Australian Labrador and Standard Poodle, and she carries the standard traits that this breed of dog shares. Laberdoodles are known to be energetic, happy and friendly dogs and this could not describe her more.

Jason had not seen Meadow since she was a couple of month’s old, so this visit was welcome on dog and human side. As I see her personality blossom, I keep thinking her future is in the doggy model industry. As for coloring her red is coming through with curly soft fur.

This months Pet Treater theme was “Best in Show” which made me think of Meadow’s fine lineage and how much of a show dog she could potentially be.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – July 2016

July 2016 Pet Treater - Dog Days of SummerAs we embark on Meadow’s first summer, it has not been without a couple little bumps along the way. Luckily she has been cleared of any serious illness at this time, but the path to discover this has been paved with stress, worry and nothing less than utter concern.

It started when she was about 4 months old, and it was because she was not eating. As it turns out she was just being moody. The next visit was due to inappropriate chewing (yes the same as in the previous Pet Treater review) and the swallowing of the chewed item. Luckily she passed the items she needed to and rebounded. This last visit was more stressful than the others and the outcome more important. As regular readers know, Meadow’s best furry friend -bff is Noodles, and she stopped caring when Noodles came to visit. This was coupled with lack of eating and a sense of lethargy. Despite the potential negative result, she was tested for the serious of canine illnesses.

After a stressful couple days all tests turned out negative, and it turns out Meadow is just a moody dog. When I heard that this months Pet Treater theme was “Dog Days of Summer”, it seemed appropriate because I think this is going to be a long summer with our dear moody Meadow.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – June 2016

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – June 2016

Pet Treater June ContentsEver since I was young my father has mentioned that I have impeccable timing. When I was young I saw this as the highest compliment, but now in my 40’s I clearly see what he meant.

As regular readers will know each month I make the 15 minute trek across lands far and wide (really the equivalent of 6 turns in total) to visit my fathers furry best friend and deliver the box contents to her (minus what is kept for my furry best friends). On the particular day I chose to go over, unbeknownst to me, Meadow and my father were having a rough morning.

Apparently It started from wake up, when someone crawled into her humans bed and then proceeded to rip a pillow apart, the human was alerted when he felt falling feathers. From there it was one inappropriate chew toy after another. Despite the rough morning, my father saw a reprieve with giving her some new toys to chew.

Since this month’s Pet Treater theme was “Unleashed”, it was perfect timing since she was a little “off the leash” that day. I love seeing her, and as my father and her bond, she is becoming calmer and a really well-behaved dog that listens. Meadow has an inherent curiosity and I love seeing her explore this each month with the contents of the box.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – May 2016

May 2016 Box Contents Each month I make the 15 minute trek over to my father’s house with the intention to visit Meadow, and present her with her monthly treats. When I arrived this month, I failed to give my father a proper “heads-up” and when I arrived dog and guardian were nowhere to be found. Lucky for Meadow, the neighborhood in which she lives has numerous parks and places to play. It did not take me long to discover the whereabouts of k-9 and human.

Noodles and Meadow 1Once I discovered my father, it turned out that she had a playdate with her best friend Noodles. It so happens that Noodles is a Golden Laberdoodle that is the same age as Meadow, as well as being a couple of homes away.

Since this month’s Pet Treater theme was “Doggie de Mayo” it seemed appropriate that I would find Meadow socializing, instead of her usual sleeping spot. I have mentioned before that I love this time of the month is when I receive the box because it gives me a chance see Meadow’s progress and growth. As I spend more time away from her the more advanced she seems when I do see her again, which is always a treat.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review and Giveaway – March 2016

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review and Giveaway – March 2016

March Pet Treater BoxAs the months “march” on with Meadow, things are starting to fall into a nice rhythm for my father. I will be honest and say that when my father adopted Meadow I was unsure how he would do with the randomness a 9 week old puppy can bring.

The question has been raised about why I had such a concern. I will be honest and say that I know my father appreciates his sleep and even when I was a child he hated to be woken up. I knew that as Meadow adjusted to her new surroundings there would be an adjustment period for my father as well.

As time is showing us, as Meadow matures, the nighttime wake-up and barking are becoming less and less of an issue. Meadow now sleeps through the night and she does wake up early and wants to be let out, and these are met with smiles and acceptance. I am very happy to say she is becoming a happy and well-behaved best friend for my father.

I will be honest when I say that my favorite time of the month is when I receive the Pet Treater box. I love this time of month because I love to see Meadow’s progress and growth. I only live about 10 minutes from my furry sister, and I love she is so close. I have also learned the longer I am away, the more advanced she seems when I do see her again.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review and Giveaway – February 2016

February 2016 Pet Treater BoxI was raised by a single father and I have always been the princess in the family – that was up until about 3 months ago. We had a new family member join our family that has taken the role of princess.

The addition I am referring to is of Meadow, my father’s Australian Laberdoodle. I am lucky that i live only about 10 minutes from the newly crowned girl. I love to give her toys and watch her excitement – what strikes me each time is many times she has not idea what I am about to give her but her excitement says otherwise. A box that allows me to give her these presents she so deserves is Pet Treater. It is obvious when you receive a Pet Treater box that they are continuing to distinguishing themselves in the pet box field.
