Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – July 2016

July 2016 Pet Treater - Dog Days of SummerAs we embark on Meadow’s first summer, it has not been without a couple little bumps along the way. Luckily she has been cleared of any serious illness at this time, but the path to discover this has been paved with stress, worry and nothing less than utter concern.

It started when she was about 4 months old, and it was because she was not eating. As it turns out she was just being moody. The next visit was due to inappropriate chewing (yes the same as in the previous Pet Treater review) and the swallowing of the chewed item. Luckily she passed the items she needed to and rebounded. This last visit was more stressful than the others and the outcome more important. As regular readers know, Meadow’s best furry friend -bff is Noodles, and she stopped caring when Noodles came to visit. This was coupled with lack of eating and a sense of lethargy. Despite the potential negative result, she was tested for the serious of canine illnesses.

After a stressful couple days all tests turned out negative, and it turns out Meadow is just a moody dog. When I heard that this months Pet Treater theme was “Dog Days of Summer”, it seemed appropriate because I think this is going to be a long summer with our dear moody Meadow.

Each month I am blown away by the quality and contents of the Pet Treater Box. It truly is as good, and even better than the month before. Meadow is now level out on growth and is settling nicely in to medium size dog so I am reviewing the medium dog box. The June box was a thoughtfully curated play themed box that maintained the theme of “Dog Days of Summer”.

Here is a breakdown of the items that were in my/Meadow’s June Pet Treater box:

Frosty BowlFrosty Bowl – Chilled Pet Water Bowl: I have read many times that animals love fresh and cold water. I know from the perspective of the cats in the family, they love fresh cold water. This bowl is the perfect size for a dog, it would be a bit large for a cat (or two). The basic idea is that you put the bowl in the freezer for a couple of hours, and once removed, your dog will enjoy 16 oz of ice-cold water.

SpongablesSpongeables – Spa-In-A-Sponge: This has to be one of the easier way to bath a dog. I remember when my father and I tried to wash our previous family dog. That poor thing had mug, paint and other remnants of nature, which made washing quite the struggle. When you are washing an animal, you want to make it as fast as possible and a pre-loaded sponge with soap would make it faster. The jury is out on this one for now since Meadow is strickly a salon patron.

Avengers Water BottleFetch for Pets – Captain America Bottle Stuffer: I thought this was just a great addition with all the talk of Marvel and the super hero’s. This is a flat toy until you put an empty water bottle inside of it and it comes to life. I love the simplicity of this toy and since it is an easily replaceable water bottle the over all destruction potential is reduced.

Meadow and Treat 1Loving Pets -Grillicious: We received 2 – 8oz bags of treats in Beef and Turkey flavors. We decided to let Meadow show us a trick for her treat. The task was to “speak” and after a couple tries she finally figured out what we wanted. It was not a strong bark, but it is there and will one day scare off potential bad.

Heart CookieEmmy Gourmet Specialty Treats – 3 Cheese Pleasers: This is a totally adorable patriotic handmade cookie. This will be a neat treat for Meadow when she is having a sad day.

Pupsicles MoldDog Bone & Footprint Silicone Mold: I will be honest and tell you all that I took these adorable paws and bones silicone mold. I plan to make some cute soaps and then slip them into my fathers guest bathroom for his guests to use, but don’t tell him! This also comes with a cute recipe to make frozen treats for your dog!

PicMonkey Collage(12)Star Spangles Bandana: Each year my dad has a large 4th of July party, and this year the star of the show was Meadow! It was her first party and the crowd overwhelmed her, thus teaching him she likes smaller crowds. This will be the perfect bandana for her to wear on Memorial Day as she can honor her human who proudly served in the Army as a Medic!

Cool CoreTreats for Human and Dog: Each month Pet Treater includes a present for the guardian of the animal. This month was a Cool Core – The Chill Tube Cooling Towel and as luck has it, I also got one in my Peaches and Petals July Box. I took this and now Jason and I each have one. This towel uses it’s unique weave that wicks away sweat and keeps you cool!
