Coloring Book for Adults: Stained Glass Patterns Review

Coloring Book for Adults: Stress Relieving Stained Glass Review and Giveaway

Coloring Book for AdultsI will be honest and say that of all the things that I think about in an average day, generally speaking glass is not one the items. Recently I have been looking at glass differently than I have in the past.

The main reason for this is that recently Jason and I were at a wedding and the centerpiece to the ceremony was a beautiful and intricate stained glass that was handmade and represented the journey the couple went through to reach the point they were on that special day. This piece was a collaboration between bride. groom and glass artist.

Throughout the day we were noticing different elements and we enjoyed interpreting the glass pieces. Upon our return home, whenever either Jason or I sees stained glass we stop and look and interpret the piece. When I received a copy of Coloring Book for Adults: Stress Relieving Stained Glass by Blue Star Coloring I instantly remembered that fantastic glass piece.

Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns Review

Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns Review and Giveaway

Kaleidoscope PatternsAdmittedly I was a simple child in the toys I played with and yearned for. The most coveted toy of my generation was the Cabbage Patch Kid. I remember the day that i met my new best friend Melissa Sue – a brown eyes, brown yarned girl. My best friend and I did everything together and we were inseparable.

One Christmas my father made my human best friend and I matching rocking beds for our yarn haired best friends. I had all the accessories and I made sure that Melissa Sue knew I loved her – in fact she is still a member of our family, almost 35 years later.

When my father was young the toys he played with were much simpler with less accessories. As I recount my favorite toy, my father recounted one of his favorites – the kaleidoscope. Recently I received a copy of Adult Coloring Books: Stress Relieving Kaleidoscope Patterns by Blue Star Coloring.

My Masterpiece Adult Coloring Book’s Review

My Masterpiece Adult Coloring Book’s Review and Giveaway

My Masterpiece Coloring Book CollectionAs regular readers will attest, I love coloring books. One of my favorite things to do is sit on my balcony and get lost in coloring. As I have mentioned in previous reviews, I live only about 1/4 mile from the vast pacific ocean, which provides the perfect backdrop for creativity. Despite being so close to the ocean, the deck in which I color looks out over the historic highway 101.

After almost 4 years, this view is a constantly evolving, constantly traveled road. Many times as I am sitting at my table and I use the passing cars and people as inspiration in my coloring. I have found that the constant shuffle and activity inspires me in ways that seem unlikely to those not creatively inclined.

As spring rolls on and summer approaches I find myself spending more time on my deck, especially with the increased amount of sunshine, I have more time to color. Recently I was searching online for coloring books and I discovered My Masterpiece Adult Coloring Books. Continue reading

Dia de los Muertos Coloring Book Review

Dia de los Muertos: Day of the Dead & Sugar Skull Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Dia De Los Muertos Adult Coloring BookI am a little over 40 years old and overall I have experienced very little loss in my life. Oddly the I have experienced more loss in the past couple years than the previous 38 years. Sadly I lost both of of my grand mothers within a year of each other.

My father’s mother, my grandmother Shirley, was an extraordinary lady and attended ophthalmology school in a time not only dominated by men, but a men’s profession. After she graduated she married, had 2 boys and had her own successful practice. Sometime in the late 1980’s she sold her practice and moved 2,000 miles away to be closer to her boys and their kids. I can honestly say she never missed a moment in my life, knew my friends and if I knew it or not, she moved here to be with me.

I try to honor her memory each day in some special way, be it a thought, or just knowing she loved me. There is a tradition in the Mexican culture that honors the dead each year in the form of Dia de los Muertos. In celebration of this yearly tradition come the coloring book Dia de los Muertos: Day of the Dead and Sugar Skull by Blue Star Coloring is a great way to celebrate the “Day of the Dead”. Doodle Emporium Adult Coloring Book Review

Doodle Emporium: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Doodle EmporiumI remember in junior high I had to take an art class. At the time there was little I looked forward to in this class other than being able to use my new colored pencils and crayons I received each new school year.

During these art classes, with students that I had known since I was a paste eater, were now more creative than myself. I tried to draw a self portrait and it came out looking as though I was actually drawing a new alien species. The assignments would range from home drawing similar to a intro to interior design drawing all the way to free form drawing. To say the least, in my eyes, they had bucket loads of art experience over my inexperience.

There was one type of drawing that I excelled at and that was doodling. There was something simple, yet filled with opportunities contained in those doodles. I have always had an infinity to doodles so when I saw the adult coloring book Doodle Emporium: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Lori Geisler I knew that I would enjoy the pages. Color the Cosmos Adult Coloring Book Review

Color the Cosmos: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Color the Cosmos Adult Coloring BookUp until the 1960’s the moon was an unexplored rock and largely a mystery. On July 20, 1969 the entire way we seen the moon and cosmos changed forever.

The moon landing was a not only a scientific feat but one of great personal accomplishment. The mystery of what is up there was a little less mysterious. I personally find it amazing that at any given moment there is somebody who is sitting in a low orbit to earth, with the purpose of studying and learning. I am not sure if we are alone, I almost feel like it is silly for us to think we are the only people smart enough to get beyond our atmosphere. Either way there is one simple fact that remains – they are up against the same hurdles as humans in regards to safe travel.

When I recently received the Color the Cosmos: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Daniela Licalzi and Carolina Licalzi for review I began wondering what is beyond our solar system and what or who else lives there. Continue reading

Fashion Forward Adult Coloring Book Review

Fashion Forward: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway

Fashion Forward Adult Coloring BookFashion and I have never really gotten along. When I was young each year I would get a stipend in late August with the intended purpose of purchasing clothes for the upcoming school year. This yearly ritual would include the entrance and exiting many different places. Ultimately I would go amount over style and was always proud when I made the stipend go further.

I would purchase pants in a rainbow of colors, and t-shirt/sweaters to match (hey! It was the later 80’s/early 90’s). My favorite items were versatile pieces that could be mixed and matched with other purchased pieces. The pieces were not particularly fashionable, but they were comfortable. I am a huge fan of comfort over what is “in-style”, to this day.

I recently received the Fashion Forward: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Minjee Kang for review and it made me realize how fashion forward I am not. Continue reading

Ocean Animals Patterns Adult Coloring Book Review

Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Ocean Animals Patterns Review and Giveaway

Ocean Animals Patterns 1The ocean is a vast space and believe it or not it is said that only 5% of the Worlds Oceans have been discovered. That means that with an average depth of 12,000 feet that is billions of cubic yards that are yes to be discovered.

Jason and I often comment on the above statistic and we dream and wonder what creatures lurk beyond the surface. I often think of krackens, and epic sea creatures that are only seen in the movies. Jason is a bit more macabre, with colossal squid that devour other small and weaker creatures.

When I received the Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Ocean Animal Patterns by Daniela Licalzi and Carolina Licalzi for review it began to occur to me that as vast as the ocean is, there are some creatures we know about. Continue reading

Adult Coloring Book: Flower Patterns Review

Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Flower Patterns Review and Giveaway

Adult Coloring Book FlowersWhen I was younger I was not a flower fan, and then one day I was walking past the floral display at the local farmers market I noticed the beauty that had always been in front of me. I took a hard look at those flowers, and then I noticed a couple were garnering more of my glances than the others.

The flowers that made me look twice were the Gerber Daisy’s and sunflowers. I can honestly say that these are my two favorite flowers and I have a hard time not smiling when I see a bright flower. When I think about it, it makes sense that I would like these two since they are all about the color. The sunflower can be either an orange/yellow or a solid yellow and are beacons for bees looking for a flower to pollinate. The daisy is a simpler, more delicate flower, but equal in color and variety ranging in color to blues, yellows and pinks.

When I received the Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Flower Patterns by Alexandra Doffing for review I immediately looked to see if my two favorites were included.  Continue reading

Steampunk Ocean Coloring Book Review

Steampunk Ocean: A Nautical Adult Coloring Book Device Review and Giveaway

Steampunk Ocean Adult Coloring BookOver the past 20 years there has been an artistic movement that combines clockwork, and industrial images and combines them with mainstream concepts and images to create a new genre of art. The formal definition of steam punk is more a genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery and not advanced technology.

I became familiar with this movement when I noticed that some of the games Jason played did not have the typical video game look. About 2 months after this discovery a makeover show was on that was redoing a bar into a steampunk theme. I was fascinated and loved the industrial twist on a modern locale.

When I received a copy of Steampunk Ocean: A Nautical Adult Coloring Book Device by Bonnita Moaby for review my mind began thinking in copper and metallic colors. Continue reading
