Fashion Forward: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway
Fashion and I have never really gotten along. When I was young each year I would get a stipend in late August with the intended purpose of purchasing clothes for the upcoming school year. This yearly ritual would include the entrance and exiting many different places. Ultimately I would go amount over style and was always proud when I made the stipend go further.
I would purchase pants in a rainbow of colors, and t-shirt/sweaters to match (hey! It was the later 80’s/early 90’s). My favorite items were versatile pieces that could be mixed and matched with other purchased pieces. The pieces were not particularly fashionable, but they were comfortable. I am a huge fan of comfort over what is “in-style”, to this day.
I recently received the Fashion Forward: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Minjee Kang for review and it made me realize how fashion forward I am not.Fashion Forward: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Minjee Kang contains 28 fashion themed images that allow you to become a fashionista. The images to color included not only the clothes, but the accessories such as shoes, purses and even earrings and glasses. Also included are pages in which you can create your own makeup colors.
While there are many wardrobe related items in this coloring book, there are also scenes to color that include a woman looking at a pair of coveted shoes, a scene reminiscent of Paris of a woman in her fur and a cute friendship ice cream scene just to name a few.
As with other Blue Star Coloring Books, the book does not lie flat, unfortunately. If you open the book wide and press down on the interior spine you might be able to crack the binding which will then assist in making the book flat which makes coloring a little easier.
As always it is important to note that the book’s pages are glued to the binding like a traditional book, making tearing the picture out a little more difficult. My recommendation is to take care when tearing or removing the page or use a cutting device such as scissors or a craft knife to get the page out. If you decide to cut these out, take care as some of the pictures are close the binding.
My usual recommendation applies for this fashion themed book and I recommend a piece of paper under the page you are coloring when using pens to avoid bleeding through to other pages. I used brush tipped pens that are normally used for stamping, I wanted to give the image an almost sketched feel – which I think worked perfect. Also, please let any ink dry before closing the book I accidentally smudged my image because I thought the ink was drier then it was, so give the area colored a little time to dry.
While I may never be the fashionista that I deep down wish I could be, I can spread my creative wings and create items I would wear. Since I sit at a computer most days, I spend my days in simple pants and shirts – it is nice to “dress it up” even if it is on paper in a coloring book.
I recommend Fashion Forward: A Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Book by Minjee Kang for all flower lovers!

Goodness, no. Lol. I wear my clothes until they fall apart and then replace them at a thrift store. Clothes aren’t high on my priority list, but coloring with my kids is very high!
