Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – July 2016 Review

Mystery Box of Awesome July 2016I am a lucky girl, overall Jason and I get along and agree on most issues other than one – the outdoors.

When Jason was a young boy his parents would take him on 3 week camping trip each year in Mammoth California. Each year this trip would be attended by friends and family. Cookouts each night, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch and cereal for breakfast. There were even fresh pancakes with fresh picks berries.

I however, despite being a California girl, have never been camping. Well, that is not entirely true but my one and only camping experience included MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat) and sleeping on hard rocks. To say that this was not a positive impression of camping that is a drastic understatement.

There have been conversation that have begun heading in the direction of my going camping and when I received this months Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome by That Daily Deal.com I felt like it was a sign that I should give camping a try! Each month no theme is chosen, but rather a selection of random gender neutral items that will undoubtedly meet a need in your life that you never knew was missing.

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review: July 2016

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription – “Another Day in Purradise” – July 2016 – Review and Giveaway

Cat Lady Box July 2016Many people are under the belief that I live in paradise, or at least what could be considered paradise – San Diego, California.

I feel differently, I think that the real paradise is in a world with cats and all they can teach us. Cats teach us the art of relaxation and not caring about the world outside their worlds. Cats teach us that kindness is rewarded and anger is met with swats and growls. Cats are able to brush off grudges, and live in peace with most other cats. Cats do not care about fur colors, or if a cat came from a shelter or not, they care about the here and now.

When you take in the cat perspective it is easy to see their idea of paradise is a little more basic than ours. When I discovered that this months Cat Lady Box theme celebrates your own idea of paradise or as the cats call it “Another Day in Purradise”. Each month is “purrfectly” curated and each month is better than the last. Click here to see previous reviews.

Paper Pumpkin – What A Gem – July 2016 Kit Review and Giveaway

What a Gem July 2016 Paper Pumpkin KitI live in a neighborhood that is full of friendly people, and we all watch out for one another. This is fortunate for us since this is where we decided to invest our money and purchase our home. Since we have such a friendly grouping of neighbors I like to reward them with niceness and kindness. Due to this the necessity arises for packaging that is similar and easy to put together.

As luck will have it, the July 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit “What A Gem” is a simple easy way to put together cute packaging that allows for a uniform gift for each of my neighbors.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – July 2016

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – July 2016

July 2016 Pet Treater - Dog Days of SummerAs we embark on Meadow’s first summer, it has not been without a couple little bumps along the way. Luckily she has been cleared of any serious illness at this time, but the path to discover this has been paved with stress, worry and nothing less than utter concern.

It started when she was about 4 months old, and it was because she was not eating. As it turns out she was just being moody. The next visit was due to inappropriate chewing (yes the same as in the previous Pet Treater review) and the swallowing of the chewed item. Luckily she passed the items she needed to and rebounded. This last visit was more stressful than the others and the outcome more important. As regular readers know, Meadow’s best furry friend -bff is Noodles, and she stopped caring when Noodles came to visit. This was coupled with lack of eating and a sense of lethargy. Despite the potential negative result, she was tested for the serious of canine illnesses.

After a stressful couple days all tests turned out negative, and it turns out Meadow is just a moody dog. When I heard that this months Pet Treater theme was “Dog Days of Summer”, it seemed appropriate because I think this is going to be a long summer with our dear moody Meadow.

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – July 2016 Review

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – July 2016 Review

Peaches and Petals July 2016As has been mentioned in the past July is a special month because it is my birthday month. My day is almost smack dab in the middle of the month (the 13th if you were wondering) which means it is in the middle of July.

With the middle of July comes the thoughts of summer such as the beach, sand, water, sun, late nights, warm nights and ice drinks. While I have never been a beach girl, I live close to the beach and on breezy days can even smell the ocean air.

When I saw the July Peaches and Petals box I knew that summer was here. The boxes contents all revolve around the “Dance to the Music” theme and are appropriate, and useful while always remaining in theme for the longer summer days!

Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – June 2016 Review

Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – June 2016 Review

June Mystery Box of AwesomeWhen I was a kid there was a store in the neighboring town that was part thrift store, part supply store and part flea market.  This store had everything from toys to dental tools. My father would take me to this store and I would venture off to find some random item I could up-cycle into a useful something.

As I got older, I saw the genius in a store of this nature and now as a homeowner I find myself missing the store I used to see the passage of time inside. I often wish I could go to this store, walk the isles and pickup a random sampling of items that would be useful for my home.

I am very happy to say that I have discovered that long-lost store in the form of a monthly box. The Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome by That Daily Deal.com is the random equivalent of that long-lost store. Each month no theme is chosen, but rather a selection of random gender neutral items that will undoubtedly meet a need in your life that you never knew was missing.

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review: June 2016

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – “Pampurr” Yourself – June 2016

Cat Lady Box Contents June 2016I love watching my kittens and their habits. I love to watch them engage in the rituals that make them the magical animals that they are.

One of my favorite things to watch is the grooming rituals. There are times that Maggee will groom herself, and her brother Murfee. I love to watch how Murfee just laps up the attention even to the point to sometimes getting into the grooming session with a zen like expression. I credit this to Maggee’s previous life as a mommy, she has an instinct to groom and love another animal. I can sit and watch this for an hour without pause, and sometimes my stare causes them pause, which makes me divert my stare.

It was announced that this months Cat Lady Box would have a spa theme I thought it appropriate since cats and pampering go hand in paw. They delivered with a theme called “Pampurr Yourself”. As I have mentioned before so I hate to be redundant but to say that each box is “pawsome” is underselling it. Each month is better than the last and you can see previous reviews here.

Each month the exterior comes emblazed with the logo in black and is a proud announcement of your Cat Lady status to all the box encounters on its journey. Once the box is open, you are greeted with a black tissue with a sticker enclosing everything in the box from hand and paws alike. The box is packaged well, and there is space enough that items do not get smooshed and smashed together.

Paper Pumpkin June 2016 Kit Review

Paper Pumpkin – June 2016 Review and Giveaway

June 2016 KitSince I am a summer baby I have always viewed the summer as an exciting time. The summer months use to mean vacation, lazy days and my birthday. I am not going to lie, my favorite part of my birthday is the cards and the decorations. Ever since I was young I have loved banners. With each banner, it is almost a proclamation of the event you are attending. The banners can announce names, and even the reason for the event.

Since I will turning a tad over 40 this year, I need to have a banner announcing it. As luck will have it, the June 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit “Banner Surprise” is a banner and card making kit in one!

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – June 2016

Pet Treater June ContentsEver since I was young my father has mentioned that I have impeccable timing. When I was young I saw this as the highest compliment, but now in my 40’s I clearly see what he meant.

As regular readers will know each month I make the 15 minute trek across lands far and wide (really the equivalent of 6 turns in total) to visit my fathers furry best friend and deliver the box contents to her (minus what is kept for my furry best friends). On the particular day I chose to go over, unbeknownst to me, Meadow and my father were having a rough morning.

Apparently It started from wake up, when someone crawled into her humans bed and then proceeded to rip a pillow apart, the human was alerted when he felt falling feathers. From there it was one inappropriate chew toy after another. Despite the rough morning, my father saw a reprieve with giving her some new toys to chew.

Since this month’s Pet Treater theme was “Unleashed”, it was perfect timing since she was a little “off the leash” that day. I love seeing her, and as my father and her bond, she is becoming calmer and a really well-behaved dog that listens. Meadow has an inherent curiosity and I love seeing her explore this each month with the contents of the box.
