Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription – “Cozy & Comfy” – January 2017 – Review + Giveaway

Early in our cat guardian life, we realized that our cats were going to miss out on sleeping on our beds at night. Due to the layout of our house, there is a clear path from our living room to the bedroom. If we keep the bedroom door open, they run and use our (Jason’s) legs to vault themselves ahead of each other.

Recently we have begun to let our girl cat, Maggee, in the room the last couple hours of the sleep cycle. Most days she hunkers down by my legs and falls asleep. The other day, we discovered that a soon as the humans sleep she explores the closet. We had set some water bottles on the edge of our elevated closet, and when we woke, one bottle was on the floor – not where we left it.

Sadly, Maggee was busted! Despite that exploration, we know all she wants is to be near us. When I received the “Cozy & Comfy” themed Cat Lady Box this month, I laughed because thats all every cat wants is to be cozy and comfy. Continue reading →

Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – December 2016 Review

Now that the holidays are wrapping up and a new year dawns, I am reflective of the year past. At the end of the year I try to summarize my accomplishments, note my failures and set new goals for the year ahead.

One of my goals in the coming year is to pay it forward. I find that simple actions of kindness are becoming less common. As time goes on and if we do not keep this movement going, then generations below us will lose that common kindness. So this coming year, I am going to share my good fortune and when I receive items in boxes I am not going to use and pay it forward.

As we approach Valentine’s Day, it becomes a day of panic for many people. Gifts can be hard to purchase if you are in a new relationship or a seasoned 20 year relationship. I am a strong believer that these sometimes the simplest gift can be the most meaningful. Since I spend so much time in the house, it is a rare day that I wear shows. On the rare occasion I venture beyond my home, I make sure my socks are decorative.

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – December 2016 Review

To say the holidays are a busy time is an understatement of epic proportions, from Thanksgiving to New Years, the days are packed.

My favorite thing about this time of year is seeing family and friends that we normally do not get to see. We get to meet babies born, important significant others and breaking bread with loved ones.

When I saw the December Peaches and Petals boxes theme I was reminded of the approaching days since it was a “Jingle and Mingle” theme that the box would revolve around. Each items are appropriate, and useful while constantly remaining in theme.

The holidays are here and it is time for cats of the world to assist their humans with the present wrapping in front of them. Maggee and Murfee love to walk all over the paper and listen to the crinkle under their paws.

One of my favorite thing during this season is to watch my cats as they watch the musical Christmas lights we have. There eyes dance around each light and as I wonder what is going through their minds, I find myself relaxing with the rhythm of their purrs.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – November 2016

There are few things that I remember loving when I was a child as much as I loved animals. I always thought it would be great to be a vet! As I have gotten older it became clear to me that I would be in a position that I would become attached to the animals that I was saving, and that would be the best quality for a vet. Despite my early career aspirations not coming to fruition I knew that the quality that made Vet Medicine not a correct choice, would make me a great Guardian.

Each day I strive to be the best Guardian and “sister” to all pets in my life, and I am attached to Meadow as if she was my own. I want the best for her, and I love spending time with her.

The idea of monthly subscription boxes is not new. These monthly mailbox surprises have had many incarnations including the well known “of the month” clubs.

Today boxes tend to fall into 1 of 2 categories: Commerce commerce and Discovery commerce. The Convenience Commerce boxes are for the items you know and love and have to have them each month. On the other side you have the Discovery Boxes. These boxes exist to allow customers to discover new items that they otherwise may not have been introduced to. The boxes that we tend to review here are the Discovery boxes.
