For many years I lived in Ventura California, which is in Ventura County which happens to be the place for citrus. Sadly for me, during my time up there I was unaware of this fact. I wish I would have toured and seen the vast trees that undoubtedly have the smell of citrus in their leaves.

I can guarantee you though, my next trip (163 miles from my house) I will be stopping in this citrus filled valley. When I am there I will be sure to be stopping at the The Limoneira Company was founded over 124 years ago. and it’s located outside of Santa Paula in beautiful Ventura County, California.

World of Munchies: Snack Attack Box – Review & Giveaway

As time passes I have discovered that I love to try new things. This is new for me as prior to the starting of this blog I had not been someone who was open to trying new items. I am very proud to say that I now not only try different items, but I actively seek out these opportunities to try something new. I have discovered many wonderfully yummy items and I look forward to each opportunity to sample these items.

I have had the opportunity in the past to review previous World of Munchies boxes, they are the perfect way to sample international snacks and sweets without the commitment. One of the offerings of boxes that they have is called the Snack Attack box. Each Snack Attack box you will receive 7-9 items in each box, selected from various international snacks. New products are being added often, which means that each box will be a random sampling of the snacks.

The Spice Lab: Herb Blend and Infused Tea Review and Giveaway

A shift occurred when I was in my early 20’s that I stopped drinking soda and transitioned to tea. In the beginning I would stick with a standard plain tea that had little tea after taste, but tasted of tea. As I got more comfortable with the overall flavor of tea and learned my preferences (unsweetened no sugar please), I learned the wonder of flavored and infused teas.

Since then I have almost exclusively drank tea at restaurants, and prefer that over most either beverages. I enjoy the unsweetened infused teas and I tend to ice the tea, chill and enjoy it that way.

As we trek into summer and the warmer months, the weather is perfect to brew a tea outside, and then pour it over a large glass of ice. Since I am a tea fan, I love to try new teas and recently a woman owned company called The Spice Lab released a line of Infused Tea as well as some Olive Oil Herb Blends.

Mrs. Thinsters Cookie and Waffle Crisp Summer Giveaway!

Mrs. Thinsters: Cookie Crisps Summer 2016 Giveaway

I have mentioned it in the past but I love to take strawberries or apples, cut them into bite size pieces and place them in a bowl with sugar, I let them sit after mixing them together. This creates a sweet and syrupy fruit treat. I put down a couple crispy elements and put my fruit mix on top, then top it all off with freshly whipped cream that I make.

The result is a fresh and seasonal desert that never gets to be to sweet or to much. One of my favorite crispy elements is the line of Mrs. Thinsters Crisps! I am happy to say they never get soggy and they always retain a crunch which is the perfect contrast to the syrup.

As a blogger I spend many hours sitting and far less hours eating as healthy as I should. Many days convenience wins over substance and hunger wins over flavor.

The beach is starting to get busy, and it is no wonder with summer just on the horizon. I live about a stones throw to the beach so when summer hits so do the people and traffic.

Often times on days I take the coast route home (which is nearly all the time) I see people there from morning-to-night. At night the one thing we see the most of is bonfires. When we sit at the stop light to make the left, often times our eyes are right wondering what is around those flickers of light.

One of my favorite things as a review blogger is when I company that I like expands their product lines and I have the opportunity to sample their new offerings. Many times this expansion is a good and expands upon an existing good idea.

A recent example of this is Nicks Stick’s. Nick’s Sticks already made free-range meat sticks that are a favorite with Jason. When I heard that they have also branched into the jerky world I was more that intrigued. When I emailed to congratulate them on this newest offering they were generous enough to send a bag of each of the 4 available flavors to try including: Traditional Beef Jerky, Prairie Fire Beef Jerky, Traditional Turkey Jerky and Prairie Fire Turkey Jerky.
