Bobo’s Oat Bars Review

Bobo’s Oat Bars Review and Giveaway

20150402_010733Confession time again! Despite my best intentions I usually run about 5-10 minutes late. This is usually due to wanting either a snack or drink to go, and this has been happening since I was young. I wish 30 years ago on the cold mornings I was running late, that there was a breakfast snack like Bobo’s Oat Bars. Bobo’s Oat Bars are mini loaves of compressed oats.

Bobo’s Oat Bars are available in 10 regular flavors including original flavor, cinnamon raisin, peanut butter, cranberry orange, coconut, chocolate, almond, banana, strawberry and apricot. Bobo’s also makes 6 gluten-free flavors including peach, maple pecan, lemon poppy-seed, chocolate almond, apple pie and peanut butter/raspberry jelly.

Seponifiq – Bread and Lettuce Sepo Sauce Review and Giveaway!

20150313_174704If you are anything like me you have never tried Sepo sauce. Well that is not entirely true, I recently tried Seponifiq’s Bread and Lettuce Sauce.

The easiest way for me to describe Sepo Sauce, it that it is a bread and lettuce sauce that is packed with flavor. The texture and consistency are similar to thick salad dressing and when refrigerated the consistency is so thick that you can turn the open jar upside down with little to no sauce loss. Once the jar is open, the first thing you smell is a pleasant combination of garlic and mustard. The flavor is reminiscent of a caesar dressing, and tastes of garlic, horseradish with a small back note of vinegar. The sauce is not spicy, and is easy to spread and loaded with possibilities and flavor.

Mini Munch Pak - DealsAmongUsMunch Pak Mini Review – Subscription Service

I am usually very apprehensive to eating things out of packages that I can not read, or even decipher. Something inside of me shifted when I realized that almost 40 years of my life has sprinted by and I might really be missing out on something. In my quest to expand my taste buds and explore my otherwise adventure-less side, I decided to reach out to Munch Pak. In response to my request they were kind enough to send me a Munch Pak Mini for my review.

Let me be honest, I did not know what to expect. I perused their website before I received my package and noticed that they had numerous options to customize the box that I could receive.

The options to customize were numerous and included the inclusion or exclusion of nuts, salty, sour, sweet, spicy, chewy, crunchy, gummy, seafood, meat, candy, chips, cookies, foreign snacks and American snacks. Each of these options do have an additional $1.00 fee. Munch Pak also offer’s a drink option for an additional $5.00 and include coffee and non-coffee options that can be included in your box.

Kinivo BTH410 HeadphonesKinivo BTH410 Stereo Headphone Review

Sound is something I have always known is important but only in the past decade have I noticed how different sound can be from one device to another. In my learning of the value of sound I was given the opportunity to review the Nivio BTH410 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones.

Kinivo BTH410 HeadphonesThe Kinivo BTH410 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones came securely packaged with the following included in the box:

  • 1 – Black Cushioned Headset
  • 1- USB Charging Cable,
  • 1 – 3.5mm Audio Cable (used for wired play)
  • 1 -User Manual.
  •  1 year Manufacturer Warranty

I did not know what to expect, as I have not had the need for a headphone/microphone combination. I am happy to say that the headphones were very comfortable on my head and unlike some headphones that are tight and make your ears hot, these did not. At one point I had put the headphones around my neck and it was not until I needed them again that I realized they were on me the entire time, I had forgotten they were there.

Perky Jerky Review

Perky Jerky Review

Confession: I love energy drinks and the extra boost they provide. I decided that on my trek to 40 years old, I would abandon some of the unhealthy habits of my 30’s. I decided that the easiest and possibly healthiest decision I could make would be to get rid of the weekly/every other day energy drinks I had come to rely on. I think the current levels of caffeine in the drinks can be high and honestly a bit dangerous for those with known or even unknown heart conditions. I often say to Jason that I wish I could get the energy boost without the dangerous heart implications – enter Perky Jerky.

20150402_185134Perky Jerky is an all natural ultra premium beef and all natural ultra premium turkey jerky that contains Guarana (a natural source of caffeine).

The beginnings of this jerky company are almost comical in nature. After a night of drinking energy infused cocktails a couple friends embarked on their day long ski slope adventure. While reaching for a snack, they discovered that as luck would have it, their energy drink spilled into their jerky and Perky Jerky was born. The most amazing thing about this serendipitous occurrence is that the jerky retained it’s original flavor but the meat became very moist.

The Honest Kitchen Cat Food Review

The Honest Kitchen Cat Food Review

The word Honest has been used a lot recently with its inclusion in company names. I think that this is 20150403_201546because the word “honest” evokes trust, warmth and a feeling that, despite being totally different people, you are friends. I think that at times, with the wrong intentions, this can be used to take advantage of the consumer. As regular readers may already know I am a skeptical person by nature and do not easily trust, especially companies. The Honest Kitchen has began to earn my trust, and replace some of the skepticism I currently have against pet food companies.

I love my cats, Maggee and Murfee, they are my husband and I’s buddies and we want them to live the best life they can, for as long as they can. With my advancing age and my own current awareness to what my food is made of, it got me thinking about what my feline family eats.

I had heard about The Honest Kitchen’s cat food while I was at the local family owned pet store while chatting with a fellow animal lover. I wanted something that was made from human grade ingredients and contained no chemical preservatives, which I thought did not exist. I was wrong, The Honest Kitchen cat food is made from 100% FDA human grade ingredients, they use Organic products when they are able to and they use ZERO ingredients from China. Many ingredients are imported internationally such as the chicken they use is a free range variety from Petaluma in California, they use line caught wild Haddock and kelp from Iceland, the quinoa is fair trade from Bolivia, the Organic coconuts are from Thailand and the basil and parsley are grown and imported from Egypt.

Gorton’s Smart and Crunchy Review and Giveaway

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Gorton’s. This in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.

LogoLockUp2015Gorton’s Smart and Crunchy Review and Giveaway!

I have never been a big fan of fish sticks. I have vivid memories as a child knowing when I saw the fish sticks come out, my father wanted a no fuss dinner for me that I would probably not enjoy. Most fish sticks are made of cod and haddock, thick breading and lacking the crisp to hold them together. I really did not start eating other varieties of seafood until I was in my mid 20’s and largely avoided fish sticks during that time. Since I met my husband and he is a lover of all fish, I have begun the process of acceptance and sampling my least liked meal.

I was given the opportunity to try Gorton’s new Smart and Crunchy Fish Sticks and Fillets. I am open to trying anything at least once, so off I went to the store to redeem the coupons I was sent. Worst case scenario, Jason would have a meal he normally would not have. When I reached the freezer section of the store I commented to Jason that I was unaware of how many products Gorton’s makes. This included a couple of varieties of the recently released Smart and Crunchy product line in addition to their old favorites.

20150323_162359I chose the Breaded Fish Fillets that are made of 100% wild-caught Alaska Pollock. I had never tried Pollock before and thought that maybe that would affect the taste of the fish fillet. The Smart and Crunchy Fish Fillet and Stick products have less fat than Gorton’s regular fish sticks and are only 180 calories a serving due to them not being fried. The panko breadcrumb coating gives them a nice crunch and a fresh taste. I added a little salt and lemon pepper on the top to give it a little more flavor.
