Bobo’s Oat Bars Review

Bobo’s Oat Bars Review and Giveaway

20150402_010733Confession time again! Despite my best intentions I usually run about 5-10 minutes late. This is usually due to wanting either a snack or drink to go, and this has been happening since I was young. I wish 30 years ago on the cold mornings I was running late, that there was a breakfast snack like Bobo’s Oat Bars. Bobo’s Oat Bars are mini loaves of compressed oats.

Bobo’s Oat Bars are available in 10 regular flavors including original flavor, cinnamon raisin, peanut butter, cranberry orange, coconut, chocolate, almond, banana, strawberry and apricot. Bobo’s also makes 6 gluten-free flavors including peach, maple pecan, lemon poppy-seed, chocolate almond, apple pie and peanut butter/raspberry jelly.

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Bobo’s Oat Bars. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review and all opinions are my own.

20150402_005754I had the chance to try 3 Bobo’s Oat Bars which included gluten-free Maple Pecan, gluten-free Peanut Butter and Jelly and Coconut. My favorite was the Maple Pecan – it has a strong maple smell when you open the package and a nice maple flavor in each bite. The gluten-free Peanut Butter and Jelly smelled of grape jelly when I opened the package but upon tasting I tasted the raspberry jelly, not the previous thought grape. My least favorite was the Coconut, but this is not to say that is was bad. There was a distinct coconut smell upon opening the package and an immediate flavor of toasted coconut upon the first bite. If you are a coconut lover, I HIGHLY recommend this bar!

Bobo’s was founded in 2005 in Boulder, Colorado by Beryl Stafford. Every oat bar is 75% organic, 100% natural, dairy free, contains no trans fats, contains no GMO’s, is low on the hypoglycemic index, contains no refined sugars, are vegan and kosher. The suggested retail price is between $2.50-2.75 for a 3oz bar, with a 6 month shelf life.

If you are looking for a easy, nutritious, on-the-go type of snack I recommend giving Bobo’s Oat Bars a try – I do not think that you will be disappointed. In the meantime, maybe if I pack some of these I will be on time for once.
