Crafted Gluten Free Monthly Subscription Review

Crafted Gluten Free Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – 1st Box

Crafted Gluten Free Upon OpeningOne of the things that I love about monthly boxes is the constant sampling of items and the opportunity to support a business that otherwise may go unknown.

The other thing that I really love about monthly boxes are that many times they are supporting the small businesses by providing product but may times the box itself is a small business themselves. I appreciate local items and the reason for this is that i live in a small town within a large city and to keep the appeal and the “funkiness” of our town, small business must prevail. Even my husband works for a small local business, and while part of a multi-location company, they are also supporters of other small business.

The way I see it, for the cycle of commerce to spin, all spokes must be turning at once. It takes companies and monthly boxes to assist in bringing awareness and support to other small companies and it takes consumers purchasing the boxes supporting the small companies. It all spins and all comes back together with the overriding theme of support.

I love when I am approached by a company or box subscription service that I have not previously heard of. I also love when I receive the box and it exceeds my expectations. I recently received the first months box from Crafted Gluten Free. Let me just say that this is not your typical box offering. The first box you will receive from Crafted Gluten Free will include 9 full size items that will range from snacks, to main dish to dessert.

Crafted Gluten Free was generous enough to send me the first  box that you will typically receive to sample and review.

Cute Conversations KitI feel as though we are barely out of the holidays, and now we are approaching Valentines Day. I have mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day, and I will explain why. Send Me Gluten Free Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – January 2016

SMFG Box ContentsI have a confession – when I started this blog I was not the most knowledgeable about the gluten-free world. In the past year and change I have learned so much about gluten, why gluten is bad and why it could enter life threatening levels for Celiacs. This has been an invaluable education and one that while I did not necessarily choose at first it is one that I am thankful for learning about. I have a new appreciation for the gluten-sensitive community, as luck would have it I am also now a sufferer of gluten sensitivities.

It is also nice to know that in combination with the learning, I have been given the opportunity to sample different gluten-free foods and drink products. I am happy to know that somebody is curating a box with gluten consciousness in mind. Send Me Gluten Free’s monthly box is doing just that for the Gluten-Free community. Each month Send Me Gluten Free (SMGF) includes 8-12 full size items to include in their monthly box, which allow’s for greater sampling of the available offerings for those with gluten sensitivity.

Send Me Gluten Free were generous enough to send me the January 2016 box to sample and review and included in the box were the following products.

Peaches & Petals November Box Subscription Review

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – November 2015 Review and Giveaway

November Peaches and Petals OverviewOne of my favorite thing about monthly subscription boxes is the random curated surprise that await the recipient. I love the unique items included and the useful items. I think that after almost a year of reviewing boxes, my favorite part is seeing the theme of the contents. I appreciate when I box has a unifying them that ties it together.

Peaches and Petals is taking this concept of a unifying theme and bringing it to each monthly box. This is a subscription box that caters to ‘fun. flirty, fashionable vintage and modern lifestyles’. What does that mean to you the subscriber? It means that each month you will receive 3-5 items hand selected by the Peaches and Petals team and can range in items from creams, nail polish, makeup, scarves and bags  or/and a vintage piece of jewelry. There could be other items included, depending on the box and theme for the month. The November 2015 box seems to have a unifying theme of “Infinity”.

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – June Box Review

Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – June 2015 Review

Geek Fuel June 2015I graduated high school in 1994 and that puts my late teen/adolescent years spent in the early 1990’s. I am most definitely a child of the 90’s – I loved baby doll dresses, I enjoyed the rising popularity of boy bands and I loved the television and media of this bygone era.

The 1990’s were notable in the media with books being turned into movies, such as Jurassic Park and the rise of the side scrolling platformer games. The Teenage Mutant Turtles were popular as were the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The X-files was on television and the we saw the rise of child themed cartoons with a definite adult theme (think Beavis and Butthead).

I mention all these icons of this era because what is old is new again. Amazingly after almost 20-25 years these legends of the 90’s are returning with a 2015 twist. The special effects driven highly anticipated Jurassic World is now in theaters, the Teenage Mutant Turtles can also be found in theaters. There has been confirmation that X-Files with Moulder and Scully is returning promising to be filled on their past 20 years.

Geek Fuel’s Monthly Subscription Service launched in December 2014 and is a monthly gaming/geek themed subscription box service. The box is mailed monthly, around the 20th, in a red box labeled with the Geek Fuel logo. Each box contains a t-shirt that you can only get from having a monthly box subscription.

Send Me Gluten Free Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – April 2015 Box

Send Me Gluten Free April BoxThe one thing I have learned is that you can not stop time. Time marches on no matter what we do and how we wish for things to be slower. I heard once that it is called “the quickening” and the longer time goes I think that is the perfect word for the way life passes by. With the march of time comes the passing of months and the quick arrival of a big day in my life, With each day that passes, I reconsider my food choices and the potential benefits of my new choices.

There is something special about knowing that somebody is curating a box with health consciousness in mind. Send Me Gluten Free’s monthly box is doing just that for the Gluten-Free community. Each month Send Me Gluten Free (SMGF) chooses 8-12 full size items to include in their monthly box, which allow for greater sampling of the available offerings for those with gluten sensitivity. They were generous enough to send me the April box to sample and review and included in the box were the following products.
