Lawless Jerky Review

Lawless Jerky: BBQ Spare Rib Review and Giveaway

BBQ Spare Rib Lawless JerkyAs I have mentioned in previous reviews, I recently attended the Natural Expo West Show in Anaheim. If you are unaware the Natural Products Expo covers everything from food, cleaning and personal care items. The show’s focus is highlighting and giving companies an opportunity to get their products name in the marketplace and to make their mark on the Natural Products category they are in.

One of the companies that I discovered this year at the Expo was a jerky company out of Arizona that has unique flavor and a fun story behind their start. Lawless Jerky was started when a lawyer thought he could bring more smiles from jerky than lawyering.

The thing that got my attention were the  unique flavors that I had not seen before.

SunButter: Sunflower Spread Review

SunButter: Smooth and Chunky Sunflower Butter Review and Giveaway

Sun Butter Crunchy and SmoothSunflowers are my favorite flower. I have been a fan of sunflowers since my mid 20’s. The problem is that I have a hard time purchasing these flowers because as beautiful as they are they do die, and once that process starts they lose what makes them unique. To solve this problem I have invested in silk sunflowers and filled my home with sunflower art.

Recently I was researching and learning about my favorite flower, and learned that the seeds can be used – which, since I am a fan of reducing, reusing and recycling, made me happy. I was lucky to be able to recently attend the Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo in San Diego as well as The Natural Products Expo in Anaheim. At each of these shows I was lucky to be able, to not only speak with company representatives, but also sample SunButter Sunflower Spreads. After I sampled this alternative to traditional peanut butter I knew I wanted to write about them and share with all of you. buy bactroban online https://noprescriptionbuyonlinerxx.com/bactroban.html no prescription

Let me start by saying that the products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Charlie’s Classic Cooking, but this in no way influences the review to follow.

Charlie’s Classic Cooking Review and Giveaway

Piled and readyWe have busy days around here – Jason works 10 hours a day and I work 12+ hours on this blog each day. Between him and I, the idea of having to cook after a long day is a little more than exhausting. Most days we gravitate towards the easiest thing to cook, which is usually chicken. I can tell you from experience that chicken does get tiresome, there are only so many ways to cook it.

It is no secret that as a blogger I get some unique opportunities for not only review but events and experiences. Jason and I have talked for a while about the concept of food being pre-made and put in the refrigerator for heating when we are ready. There has been a hesitation in us, that was until I had the opportunity to finally try this method of meals. I was lucky enough to get 4 days, which was the equivalent of 16 meals, from Charlie’s Classic Cooking in Escondido.

Naked Infusions Salsa Logo

Naked Infusions Review and Giveaway

I am a fan of chips with salsa, unfortunately my stomach feels very different about this. As I have gotten older I am sad to report that my stomach and I do not agree on many food decisions. I love chips and salsa, and I was thrilled when I heard that there was a salsa company doing it different. Despite the battle waged in my stomach when tomatoes are involved, that does not deter me from my quest of salsa discovery.

When I think of salsa I think tomatoes and some spices. I have never really given thought to adding other ingredients to enhance the natural tomato flavors. Lucky for me there is a salsa company that is thinking outside the proverbial box and combining flavors: Naked Infusions Salsa.

All of Naked Infusion’s salsa is certified organic , Non-GMO verified and Gluten-free. The salsa are made with fresh ingredients and are not the ultra chunky salsa, but a nice fine blend that makes chip application easy.

Naked Infusion was generous enough to send me a complete sampling of each flavor they offer including:

Signature Ripe Tomato (hot, medium and mild): 4 oz received – Mild, medium and Extra Hot available – This was fresh tasting and what the other flavors are based on – this is the original recipe.

Naked Infusions SalsaCalifornia Burnt Sage: 4 oz received – Medium Heat – The sage popped first and foremost and it added a fresh quality to an already fresh and clean salsa. The ingredients are as tasty as they are fresh.

Golden Girl Granola Review and Giveaway

Golden Girl Granola Review and Giveaway

Golden Girl Granola version 2When you generally think of granola a couple of adjectives come to mind: outdoors, natural, healthy and durable. I love having simple granola snacks in my house despite being less than an outdoors person. There is nothing simpler then a bag of healthy tasty granola for an afternoon snack. Granola is just as versatile as it is tasty and this granola from a family run business in Shirley, MA is no exception.

The benefit of review blogging is being given the opportunity to try different types of the snacks and products I already enjoy. All the while supporting a small family run business and product, such as Golden Girl Granola. I was graciously sent 4 bags of my choosing to sample. The ones I chose were Bluesberry, Chocolate Decadence, Home Sweet Honey and Forest Maple. The other flavors I did not choose were Creative Cranberry, Truly Tropical and The Original. A 14 oz bag is available for $7.50 and they also have a 12 pack of 3 oz package’s available for $36.00.

Enjoy Life CookiesEnjoy Life Foods: Vanilla Honey Graham and Snickerdoodle Cookies Review & Giveaway

I feel as though we have been light on the admissions around here so thought it was a great time to admit to you all that we are a sweet house. At times I wonder if our house has more sweets than proteins.  We love cookies, cakes, brownies, and any combination of those that a person can dream of.

In our constant pursuit for healthier versions of the snacks and treats that we love so much we were given the opportunity to sample a couple of Enjoy Life Food’s cookies. We sampled the Soft Baked Snickerdoodles and the Vanilla Honey Grahams.

Mini Munch Pak - DealsAmongUsMunch Pak Mini Review – Subscription Service

I am usually very apprehensive to eating things out of packages that I can not read, or even decipher. Something inside of me shifted when I realized that almost 40 years of my life has sprinted by and I might really be missing out on something. In my quest to expand my taste buds and explore my otherwise adventure-less side, I decided to reach out to Munch Pak. In response to my request they were kind enough to send me a Munch Pak Mini for my review.

Let me be honest, I did not know what to expect. I perused their website before I received my package and noticed that they had numerous options to customize the box that I could receive.

The options to customize were numerous and included the inclusion or exclusion of nuts, salty, sour, sweet, spicy, chewy, crunchy, gummy, seafood, meat, candy, chips, cookies, foreign snacks and American snacks. Each of these options do have an additional $1.00 fee. Munch Pak also offer’s a drink option for an additional $5.00 and include coffee and non-coffee options that can be included in your box.

Mamma Chia Vitality Granola – 3 Flavors – Review

Mamma Chia Vitality Granola – 3 Flavors – Review

20150225_153530Granola, in my taste, can be a hit or a miss. There are many reasons that contribute to this sometimes off the target snack, such as ratio of items included in the mix and if the dominating flavor is overwhelmingly powerful or subtle. The dominant flavor should be at the forefront but not at the expense of the other ingredients.

In December of 2014 I reviewed Mamma Chia’s Vitality Beverages (see review here). Since that first review they have released a few new products including an Energy Drink and Chia packed granola.
