Mamma Chia Vitality Granola – 3 Flavors – Review
Granola, in my taste, can be a hit or a miss. There are many reasons that contribute to this sometimes off the target snack, such as ratio of items included in the mix and if the dominating flavor is overwhelmingly powerful or subtle. The dominant flavor should be at the forefront but not at the expense of the other ingredients.
In December of 2014 I reviewed Mamma Chia’s Vitality Beverages (see review here). Since that first review they have released a few new products including an Energy Drink and Chia packed granola.
I emailed the company to congratulate them on this new offering and they were generous enough to send me a bag of Wild Blueberry Clusters, Vanilla Almond Clusters and Cinnamon Pecan Clusters to review.
Wild Blueberry Clusters: I am a huge fan of blueberries. My favorite thing to do with blueberries is stick a handful in pancakes. These new clusters have the perfect combination of clusters vs. blueberries. The clusters are packed tight with the chia being spread throughout each piece.
Vanilla Almond Clusters: For those that know me , it is no secret I love Vanilla anything! This has a smell of vanilla when you open the bag, which immediately made me eager to try the clusters. The clusters are of random sizes and the vanilla taste if slight but prominent within each cluster. Being similar to the Blueberry clusters the chia is spread generously within the granola chunks.
Cinnamon Pecan Clusters: There is not doubt that these are cinnamon flavored. When I opened the bag there was an unmistakable, obvious cinnamon aroma. Despite the strong cinnamon aroma the clusters had just enough cinnamon to taste without an overpowering taste. Like the previous Blueberry and Vanilla Almond clusters the chia seeds are firmly ensconced within the granola bunches.
These clusters were made in response to the requests of the community, who wanted more ways to enjoy the benefits of chia throughout the day. I really like the fact that they were able to combine the benefits of chia seeds into an easily portable snack like granola. Each serving of granola contains 10 grams of protein, 1500mg’s of Omega 3’s, 5g of fiber, made of 100% whole grains, are gluten-free and contain no GMO’s. The clusters are also kosher and USDA certified organic and are sweetened with a touch of organic honey.
I would recommend these for anyone who wants the all day benefits of the chia seed. I have been loving switching off the flavors in my yogurt – if you have not tried this, I highly recommend it! These would be perfect to put in small containers and take on a hike, they will fill your stomach and fill your soul!
