Each week, on Friday nights, we watch Shark Tank. There are days that we look at each other and wonder who would purchase the product that they are introducing the audience too. Other days we wonder how the world has survived without the product in their lives.

One of these products that we wondered about was a hulless popcorn that we saw on the show called Pipcorn by Pipsnacks. What got our attention the most was that this mini popcorn had made Oprah’s Favorite Things list twice and touted as easier to digest, is kinder to teeth and seeing overall reaction when eaten.

It has been mentioned on this blog in the past, nut we are a snack house. Many times we will have our meals, and shortly after we will raid our snack pile.

One snack that we are big fans of but has a downside is popcorn. Popcorn is easily the most versatile snack that almost any spice, seasoning and sweetness can be paired with. With the versatility of popcorn there is a downside – the kernels getting into the teeth.

When I was a child I took dance classes and spent a good amount of time in my father’s car when he would take me to and from dance class. At the time the only place to take lessons was almost 25 minutes from home.

Often times on my way home I would get hungry and my father would hand me a granola bar or equal treat. I always wondered how he knew I would be hungry after dance class and now I wonder why I was not some days.

I think one of the biggest supporters of small businesses are the monthly gift box companies. Each month a small business that may otherwise not get the widespread eyes that a monthly subscription box can provide.

Frontier Soups Review

Frontier Soups: Corn Chowder and Tortilla Soup Review and Giveaway

Being a California girl the concept of cold winter nights mean something different to me than to other people. I did spend the first 6 years of my life in the mid-west and while I have faint memories of the cold, it is mostly memories made up of being told and reading what the weather was like.

There is a famous story in my family that occurred on my final plane ride to California. I was leaving Illinois at the end of December and as such was outfitted in a snow suit (a cute little red number with an apple on the upper right corner). When I got off the plane at Lindbergh Field in San Diego, despite the snow suit I knew I was in a different world.

Since i have long left my cold days behind me, as I have been a California Girl since the first step off the 737, I do love the cold. Despite this sunny and warm environment I am in, I long for cold nights. My favorite days involve rain, a footed onesie and a good bowl of soup! Lucky for me California is in the middle of a El Nino and rain is frequent for an otherwise dry state. Since I am a planner, I tend to stock my house and make sure I have soul warming foods.
