Paper Pumpkin: February 2017 Kit Review

Paper Pumpkin – Another Great Year – February 2017 Kit Review + Giveaway

My entire life there is one thing that I enjoy doing – making and writing up invitations for parties. Truth be told sometimes I would have a party just so I could make invitations.

When my husband and I celebrated our marriage I went with an ocean theme since we live near the ocean and it was in the middle of summer. I made invitations with a beach and coastal themed and my thank you cards were vellum over a fish in ocean theme. The result was an invitation and thank you set that left an impression, and was unique.

As my birthday is approaching, well if you consider 5 months approaching, and I am already thinking about a party. Truth be told since it is an off year birthday (42) I had not planned on commemorating it, but when I saw the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit “Many Happy Birthdays” the party invitation adrenaline began.

Eat Dutch Waffles: 3 Flavors Review

Eat Dutch Waffles: Traditional, Honey Vanilla and Blueberry Review + Giveaway

One of our favorite things to make and eat are waffles. The reason is that waffles are as delicious as they are versatile. Waffles can be eaten with everything from syrup, to chicken, and can be breakfast to dessert.

The other great thing about waffles is that with their versatility comes variations. One variation of waffles are the Dutch Stroopwaffel. The Stroopwaffel is a waffle cookie that is chewy, and syrup flavored.

When I first began blogging I reviewed a Stroopwaffel sample. Ever since that experience I have been a fan of these chewier variations of the waffles we love. I recently came across a company that originated in the Netherlands, and by the travels of a student, has expanded into the United States. The company, Eat Dutch Waffles sent me some of their Stroopwaffel’s for review.

Dr. Jacobs Naturals: Eucalyptus Castile Liquid Soap Review

Dr. Jacobs Naturals: Eucalyptus Castile Liquid Soaps – Review + Giveaway

I have mentioned in the past that one of my favorite soaps to use is castile soap. The reason for this is that it is one of the most gentle soaps while remaining the most versatile and adaptable soaps on the market.

As I have gotten older I have seen the need products that are pure and simple. When I was young I loved things that smelled good, and really did not care about the product much further than that. Even when it came to my dog, it was my goal to make him smell good. As I have aged, I have learned what the good smelling things can actually do to your skin,

As I said above, castile soap is versatile and simple. Last year I came across a company called Dr. Jacob Naturals and their line of castile based soaps. I recently reviewed their set of exfoliating bar soaps and received a couple of samples of their liquid soaps. As I was washing my hands that night, I began wondering how this would do in other applications and was eager to give it a try.

As a blog owner I have many hats, and many duties to accomplish throughout the day. Most of these I remember, and have a system’s in place for most tasks. Even with systems being in place it is nice to have a planner that I can make notes about meetings, calls and daily to-dos.

I have always gotten planners with colors, and a theme that I enjoy. If I can get more spaces for notes and such, that is always a bonus. When I recently saw the Coloring Planner: Stress Relieving Cats by Blue Star Coloring I got excited – not only was it a planner but a CAT themed planner! Continue reading

It is no secret that we are a snack house, and even our animals have gotten a piece or two. The Lego Animation Book and Geeky Lego Crafts Book Review

The Lego Animation and Geeky Lego Crafts Book Review + Giveaway

Since I was an only child, I had many moments throughout my young life that I would be bored in my own home. It was usually during these moments that I would begin to reorganize my room or start a new project I had never done before.

One of my favorite things to do was to put together LEGO kits, you know the ones that have all the pieces needed to create a ship, or van or environment for my LEGO people. I would spend hours matching pieces and clicking them together.

Despite my creativity, I never thought that there was much more I could do with LEGO’s and inevitably they would end up taken apart, in the box in my closet never to be seen again. When I recently received a copy of the LEGO books Geeky LEGO Crafts and The LEGO Animation Book I realized the missed opportunities I had all those years earlier with my beloved brick blocks. .

Vidalia Chop Wizard Review

Vidalia Chop Wizard Review + Giveaway

As I have mentioned many times, we are going through a metamorphosis in our house that involves more home cooking and less eating out.

Ever since I started this blog I have loved not only trying new things, but also using my new-found tools and skills to cook at home. The most amazing thing is that we have discovered that we love our own home cooking better than most restaurants.

The biggest problem that I have as an amateur home chef is consistency in my cuts, and thus this affects the consistency of heating. When I received an email about the Vidalia Chop Wizard I began to think that this is the way I can finally gain that consistency I am needing in my home cooking.
