Paper Pumpkin May 2016 Kit Review

Paper Pumpkin – May 2016 Review and Giveaway

May 2016 Paper Pumpkin KitJune has always been a special month to me for 2 reasons. The first being it was traditionally when my summer would begin and my birthday is approaching (July). The second reason is that it is the month in which I get to celebrate my father.

I am appreciative of my father for many reasons, least of which is that from 5 years old he raised me. I learned to drive from my father, I celebrate my accomplishments and my biggest heart-breaks. Jason and I appreciate my father, and we try to show our appreciation each day.

My entire life I have made cards and plaques for Father’s Day. This year this task has been made much easier due to receiving the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit “Many Manly Occasions”.

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review: May 2016

Cat Lady Box Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway – May/Cat Mom’s Day 2016

May 2016 Box ContentsWhile I have not had the best history with mothers in my life, I can see the love and see how a mothers love is irreplaceable. Due to my shaky history with my own mother I think at times i might over compensate with Maggee and Murfee.

Let me explain a little further to bring some clarity. I was raised from a young age by my father and while I learned many valuable lessons, I did miss my mother. It was made clear early on that my mother wanted nothing to do with me, and while this was hurtful, it ended up being for the best. I did not have an example of a mother, so I base my experience on snippets of mom’s i have seen my life.

At times I think this has worked well, and it really is a broad example base. Recently Jason has made comments and dropped words such as “helicopter” and “smother and mother”. I think during this time of year, as much as I love the moms in my life, I overcompensate with my two cats. Lucky for me they seem to love the love!

It was announced that this months Cat Lady Box would have a “Mothers” theme, and they delivered. To say that each box is “pawsome” is an understatement. Each month is better than the last, (see previous reviews here). The box exterior is printed with the logo in black and is almost a proud announcement of your Cat Lady status. Once the box is open, you are greeted with a black tissue with a sticker enclosing everything in the box. The box is packaged well, and there is space enough that items do not get smooshed and smashed together.

CastileSoap.com: Liquid Castile Soap

CastileSoap.com: Liquid Castile Soap Monthly Subscription Review and Giveaway

Castile Soap Monthly Box with Liquid Soap in boxI am a simple girl, and this simplicity extends to the soaps I use. It is starting to extend to the products I use in my home. My two cats affect my life in many ways, and as of recently in the products that I use around my home to clean myself, my home and even them.

Since I am already a castile soap fan for my facial cleanser I have been wanting to see what else I could do with it. After some quick research I learned that castile soap can be used for anything from washing vegetables to a laundry detergent on over to a body wash. Lucky for our cats, this is also a safe soap to use on animals, so bathes are eminent for 2 creatures soon.

Back in December I had the opportunity to review CastileSoap.com and recently they added liquid castile soap to their monthly subscription box. Since they specialize in only castile soap based soaps I was intrigued and eager to sample this new offering. The great thing about castile soap is that it utilizes the natural and essential oils to add benefit to each soap. Castile Soap is not only bio-degradable but also organic, and contains no harsh elements, and it is safe to use on children and pets!

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – May 2016 Review

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – May 2016 Review

When I was young I thought that parties were the best things ever with their combination of people, food and gifts.

I have had a birthday party for every major birthday starting from 6 years old and going up until my 40th last year – so far. My most memorable party that I have thrown has to be Jason’s and I reception. Well, in reality is was a catered backyard affair with wedding themed decorations. I made everything from the “congratulations” sign to the favors at the table – everything done by me in my vision.

I love to celebrate and have had parties for EVERY milestone in my life including graduation, birthdays and everything in between. As we approach my birthday again this year I am beginning the consideration process of how I plan to celebrate to when I saw the May Peaches and Petals box I was filled with ideas. The boxes contents all revolve around the “Let’s get Together” theme and are appropriate, and useful while remaining in theme.

Over the Rainbow by Stampin’ UP Review

Stampin’ Up – Over the Rainbow Stamp Set – Review and Giveaway

Over the Rainbow CaseI have been making paper crafts since I was a teenager but I have always had a fear of stamps. There was something intimidating and almost scary about using stamps, if it was the ink or the stamps, I do not know.

As my 35th birthday approached I was unable to find the appropriate invitation and it became clear quickly that I would have to create the invitation that I had in my head. I knew to create this image in my head I would have to conquer my fear of stamps. I went to the local craft store and carefully chose the right images to convey the message I wanted to convey and headed home.

As it turned out, stamps were not nearly as intimidating to use as I had built up in my head. Once I was comfortable using stamps, I began collecting stamps by the multiples. Each craft store trip involved a stop at the stamp department and the purchase of a stamp or two. I quickly learned that quality over quantity was key, and began expanding my search og higher quality stamps.

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review – Special Edition Cat Box

Pet Treater Monthly Subscription Box Review: Special Edition Cat Box

Special Edition Cat Box ContentsAnybody who knows me in my offline life knows that I love cats. I have had 4 cats in my adult life – Maggee, Murfee, Momar and Sebastian. My cat Momar was a pure bred Birman, and not the friendliest of cats. The belief was that he knew he was gorgeous and that gave him right to be a bit on the temperamental side.

My cat Sebastian was a white deaf odd-eyed boy, that was a young cat when I discovered him in the rain. It was a rainy the day I rescued him and the saddest thing was that he did not know to get out of the rain. I took him to the vet, got him checked out, and learned that he was a feral cat that was a kitten when he was introduced to the outside world. It took some time but what resulted was a friendly and sweet cat that lived to almost 10.

My two cats now are easily as special as Momar and Sebastian were, and I love to spoil them. Each month I review the Dog Pet Treater box, but recently I had the opportuity to review the Special Edition Cat Box!

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – April 2016 Review

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – April 2016 Review

April Showers Peaches and Petals April 2016 Box Contents Living in San Diego the concept of rain can be foreign to many residents. The biggest problem is that because wet road conditions are infrequent, when they do occur they bring the slickness to the surface.

When I was 16 I got in an accident on one of those rare rainy nights. Admittedly I was driving to fast for road conditions and the car did many flips and slammed into a brick wall. While my car did not survive, I did and I learned to respect the rain and road.

I never let the accident scare me from driving in the rain, and in fact now I love and look forward to the rain. I love the sound on my roof, and the rush as it sweeps down my gutters and onto the street. I love to watch it roll down the hill, like a stream missing fish. This love of the rain is not expressed often, despite weather forecasts saying otherwise.

Since it is April and I am missing my showers, I was very happy when I saw that the April Peaches and Petals box. The boxes contents all revolve around the “April Showers” theme and are appropriate, and useful while remaining in theme. Each month that I receive Peaches and Petals I am more impressed with the items included in the boxes.

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – March 2016 Review

Peaches & Petals Subscription Box – March 2016 Review

Peaches and Petals Live Life in Color March 2016When I was a teenager I discovered the wonder of paint and the versatility. One day I was at the home improvement ship with my father and I saw the paint department. My father, never one to squash my creative spirit, told me I can purchase any color I wanted for my bedroom.

Lucky for my father, I never went through a black phase, and I always loved color. That simple act of creativity began a 10 year oddessy into paint colors and learning about the importance of primer when covering dark colors with light.

As I got older and moved out of my childhood bedroom I realized that it was not realistic to repaint each wall in my house. The problem was that I wanted color in my environment, so I began looking for cost-effective alternatives. Today I express my love of color in the knives on our counter, the plates we eat one, the pillowcases on our bed, the boxes we use as decorative storage and anything else where color is an option.

Since I love color so much, I could not wait to see the March Peaches and Petals box. Each month there is a full color postcard that gives a “teaser” about the next month. When I saw in February’s box March’s theme of “Live Life in Color”, I was excited. Each month Peaches and Petals is taking the concept of a monthly subscription box and sending a monthly treat to their subscribers.
