Geek Fuel Monthly Subscription – May Box Review

GeekFuel Monthly Subscription May BoxA trending topic in our house is our Geek Factor, and how to measure such an arbitrary trait. The methods that are popular in our Geek House is how many Marvel movies we have seen or are we original Trekkies, Next Generation or Deep Space Nine devotees. There has been banter about is Star Trek with Chris Pine as Captain, or was William Shatner the only one who could play that famous role of James Tiberius Kirk.

It has been 6 years and this is still a hotly debated topic in this house and where Geek Fuel steps in to help determine the true geek. Geek Fuel’s Monthly Subscription Service launched in December 2014 and is a monthly gaming/geek themed subscription box service. Each box is mailed monthly, around the 20th, in a red box labeled with the Geek Fuel logo. Each box contains a t-shirt that you can only get from having a monthly box subscription.

I have done Geek Fuel reviews in the past (March 2015 and April 2015) and really love the monthly delivery of Geek. This months box was just as packed full of Geeky Goodness as previous months. Included in this months box was the following:

Geek Fuel May 2015Exclusive Geek Fuel T-shirt- $10.00: Each month a limited t-shirt that only members of Geek Fuel receive. This months shirt is a Weeping Angels shirt from their Don’t Blink Tour, this is a reference to Doctor Who. The shirt is made of a strong cotton and is very comfortable.

Geek Fuel May 2015The Force Poster  – value unknown: This poster is made my Teribbly Odd and reminds me of the wisest of characters in Geekdom! This thick poster will be a perfect addition to Jason’s work area.

Geek Fuel May 2015Square Heros DL Game Code – $10.00 : This is a game code for Square Heros redeemable on Steam, with a tattoo sheet. Square Heros is a game in which you play a hero by youself or with friends in which you level up to collect new arsenal all the while taking out your freinds.

Geek Fuel May 2015Secret Wars Issue #1 by Marvel Comics – $5.00 : This new comic books comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity. The comic book brings the worlds of Earth-616 and Earth-1610 in one comic book series.

Geek Fuel May 2015Slap Koozie = $3.00: The funniest thing about the Koozie is that Jason had just mentioned that we needed to invest in a couple of these. I love that it is branded with the Geek Fuel logo, almost as a reminder that I am drinking my own “Geek Fuel”.

Geek Fuel May 2015Plants Vs. Zombies Enamel Pins – $9.99: Made by PopCap these are Plants vs. Zombies Pins. The package comes with 4 pins, individually wrapped, ranging in rarity from 1/8 all the way to 1/50. I received 3 pins that had a rarity of 1/12 and one with a 1/8 rarity. These are really cute and I am using them on our family bulletin board to give it a geeky twist.

Each box comes with a glossy post card that lists out the contents of the box, and each box comes neatly in a tissue covered box with a sticker attaching the tissue at the top, giving the feeling of up-wrapping a gift each month. I can honestly say I look forward each month to my Geek filled box!

Geek Fuel boxes are available in 4 different monthly options:

  • 1 month/$17.60
  • 3 months/$16.60
  • 6 months/$15.60 + 1 free mystery item
  • 12 months/$13.60 + 3 free mystery items
  • The Mystery items included are a $20.00 value
  • Each box costs a flat $6.00 that covers shipping and handling.

Even as I complete this Geek Fueled review, the debate in my house rages on. I think that as long as we embrace and support our geekiness, it does not matter the larger geek – we are all together in this Geek World.
