This is a person who I had lost touch with for many years, and through the use of modern technology I was able to track down her email. While I had her email for a couple of days, I was hesitant to hitting the send button.

I finally decided to hit the send, and held my breath for her to reply. I had included my address in case she wanted to send me a mailed letter. The same day I heard from her I also received a physical card in the mail. Almost instantly I was filled with an excitement and could not wait to open this letter from a long-lost friend.

While the card was simple, the sentiment meant the world to me. With a simple card, the years between us melted away and a fresh start was beginning. tea-tree-shampoo-and-conditionerI have always been lucky when it comes to my hair. I have naturally blond hair and lots of natural curl. The more I encourage it while drying, the more curl I can achieve.

The one problem I have had since I was a young teenager is dandruff. As I have gotten older the situation has improved dramatically – and it is merely brief boughts of dandruff rather than the snow storm it used to me.

newmans-sampler-packI have a confession, I get Christmas gifts for my pets. I generally wrap them and put them under the tree. When it is time to open the gifts, I let the cats sniff the gift and paw at it. Once it is time to open I pry the corner open and let them attack it. More often than not they are far more interested in the paper and the accompanying crinkle. While this provides my husband and myself a laugh, inevitably the cat walks away to ignore us.

Cats are notoriously ambivalent about everything including gifts, their surroundings and most of all – their humans. There is one time when I am able to get my cats entire attention is when I have dry or wet food. When ever I crack a can open they come running –  that is why I am thrilled to be able to have another Newman’s Own Pet Food giveaway.

There was something magical that with something as simple as an address, people can get trinkets and letters from loved ones. This was in the day before I knew about bills and thought the world was full of rainbows.

Now that I am adult, I accept that most of the mail I receive is bills, except for this time of year. This is the season of family updates, family photos and letters – I love this time of year!

When I received the November 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit “Wonderful Winterland”, the decision was made that these would be in the lineup for our 2016 Holiday cards.

ColorGrande – DIY Fabric Design Kit  Review + Giveaway

colorgrande-abstract-fabricIt was always a dream of mine to have a dedicated craft room when I purchased my home. One part of my dream has come true when we purchased our home, and the second part came true when my husband said that our loft would become my dedicated craft room.

The craft room is about 12 feet by about 10 feet, with a lot of open wall space! Since it is my craft room, I decided to put things on the wall that either inspire me or that I have created. One of my favorite things to do is color, and I have been looking for a larger scale image I can color and then frame and display.

Color Your Christmas: A Crafty Christmas Adult Coloring Book Review + Giveaway

color-your-christmasWe are about 6 weeks until Christmas and I am already seeing the signs and icons of the season. Each time I go to the store I see more and more reds, greens and golds.

My favorite thing about the holidays is something that I rarely experience – snow and snowmen. I have begun collecting these white balls of personality, and dream of seeing a white Christmas.

For the time being the closest I can get is on television and my own imagination. I love adult coloring books for this reason – I can let my imagination run wild.
