Golden Girl Granola: New Packaging Review + Giveaway
As many people know, I love supporting smaller businesses.
Many times these small businesses have wonderful stories and interesting paths that led them to where they are now.
Back in June of 2015 I reviewed a company from Shirley, Ma called Golden Girl Granola. I had the opportunity to sample 4 of the 7 flavors available and loved them. Recently Golden Girl has redesigned their packaging and with this new packaging, I was given the chance to try the remaining 3 flavors and host a giveaway!
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Golden Girl Granola, but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
I received the following flavors in new black packaging –
Bluesberry – This is made with coconut flakes, dried blueberries and sliced almonds. I would have liked to see more blueberries in the granola since it gave it a nice treat of sweetness throughout.
Creative Cranberry – This is made with dried cranberries, pure maple syrup, sliced almonds and coconuts. I would have liked to see more cranberries in the oats, but they were not unheard of, just limited.
Truly Tropical – This was a combination of cashews, coconut, and dried mangos. From the nuts to the fruit, the ingredients reminded me of a tropical combination.
Chocolate Decadence – This is made with coconut flakes, chocolate chips and sliced almonds. I used this to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and it was beyond good. This had a perfect balance of chocolate and granola that made these cookies crunchy and chewy! I recommend trying these!
Home Sweet Honey – This granola is made with honey with baked coconut flakes. The coconut is a nice addition without being overpowering.
Forest Maple – This is made with maple syrup and sliced almonds, and is crunchy and sweet.
The Original – A simple mix of oats, sliced almonds, honey and coconut. This would be good for just about any granola recipe and would always be tasty.
All of Golden Girl Granola is made with raw wildflower honey and New England Syrups. These are all natural wheat free, no GMO’s. whole grain granola, no dairy, no cholesterol, no trans-fats, no preservatives and no artificial colors or flavors. This is all an all natural healthy treat that is as versatile as it is healthy.
Each box comes with a cute cookbook that gives you ideas of ways to use their many flavors of granola. The “Golden Girl” is a version of the artist and her childhood pal Pippi Longstocking, which makes for a cute memorable representative of this granola company.
If you are a fan of something different from plain granola, I recommend that you give Golden Girl Granola a try!
