Outside The Lines, Too Coloring Book Review

Outside The Lines, Too: An Inspired and Inventive Coloring Book Review and Giveaway
Outside The Lines One and TwoOne of my favorite things in the world is a brand new box of writing and coloring implements. There is something almost magical when you crack open a new box of crayons and open a whole new world of imagination. Recently I went and purchased a new set of pencils, crayons and pens to make my journey of coloring a little easier while providing me millions of color options.

I recently received the 2nd book curated by Souris Hong titled “Outside The Lines, Too: An Inspired and Inventive Coloring Book by Creative Masterminds” curated by Souris Hong for review. This 2nd coloring book has over 126 pages (256 pages total) of coloring pages each by a different artist. I also had the opportunity to review the 1st book in this series entitled “Outside The Lines: An Artists’ Coloring Book for Giant Imaginations” curated by Souris Hong at the same time for review.

What makes Outside The Lines and Outside The Lines, Too different than the other coloring books is that each page is created by a different artist. The artists that contribute art to this curated collection range from the field of animation, cartoons, graphic artists, illustrators, musicians, photographers, street artists and video game artists. What this all means is that each page is different from the page before it.

Outside the Lines twoo togehterI found myself enjoying myself before I even decided on a picture to color – each picture was different and had a different feeling with it. This was also the case with the first book, and I found that the second book is really a continuation of this concept.

Some of the art work can be considered a little on the dark side at times, it made it difficult to decide on a color theme. If I had to estimate I would say that the art I considered dark was less than 5% of the over 120 pages of art, so not enough to really bother me.

I loved this coloring book and loved that the pages were perforated for easy removal – I would recommend this to any coloring fans, it really has something for every taste and mood you might be in.

I use colored pencils when I color. I like the intricate designs and need a small point to get into the small places.

I prefer colored pencils. They’re the easiest for the designs that I typically do.

I use multiple mediums to color. My favorite being colored pencils but crayons, sharpies, markers and gel pens are also very useful.

Colored pencils. Used to be Prismacolors, but I just got my first set of Polychromos and I’m in love.

For darker coloring, I like to use markers or crayons. But my favorite is using color pencils, because it gives a beautiful light color look to it. (Plus it’s erasable!)
