Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome – August 2016 Review

mystery-box-of-awesome-august-2016-contentsI am a collector of many items, from paper to gadgets. I think that this collecting nature started when I was a child. I had board games that were my mothers, and patches from my father’s high school days.

Now that I have a house, I realize that space is a commodity and am always looking for ways to make the space stretch further than it looks on the surface. The problem with being a collector is that I have a collection of the most random items from hammocks to cat toys. I am a believer that each item I may not want would make a great holiday gift, so I save and collect.

I also love adding to this collection each month and the Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome by That Daily Deal.com helps me collect items that I did not know I wanted! Each month no theme is chosen, but rather a selection of random gender neutral items that will undoubtedly meet a need in your life that you never knew was missing.

The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of That Daily Deal/Jammin Butter. This post may contain affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review and all opinions are my own.

Here is a breakdown of the items that included in the August Box of Awesome:

slushy-magicSlushy Magic: This is a simple cup system that included three bags that you place in the freezer. Once these are frozen you put them in the cup along with the chosen liquid and you begin to shake – for a while. The amazing thing is that it does turn to slush. The most difficult part is that the amount is barely enough for one person, so some pre-planning is needed, or a second cup. Overall this is a cute item that I know Jason will enjoy using during the summer.

flower-spatula-and-panSunflower Pan and Spatula: This is a yellow 9.5 inch nonstick fry pan with a daisy/sunflower spatula. I used this to make eggs and it needed very little non-stick spray. It cleaned easy and was quick to dry. As for the spatula I would say this is more on the end of decorative than useful. I used it to serve some pizza that i had reheated and even that was difficult to use, but it is really cute, just not very effective.

plastic-cup-island-timeSlant Collections Plastic Cup – I’m On Island Time: I love having cups that have lids since I have two cats that love to watch fluid rush out of cups. This is a cute green cup and will be perfect for those days on my porch.

miscellany-box-knock-knockKnock Knock – It’s a Box: I live in a small house so I am always looking to find cute and effective storage and this box fits my criteria perfectly. The box is a nice size at L 11 ¾” X W 9 ¼” X H 4 ¾” and comes with a lid. This comes flat with simple instructions on the back of the package. It took less than 5 minutes to set up the box, and it is strong and sturdy and can sustain items on top of it without buckling.

pizza-panMicrowave Pizza Plate: Generally speaking we do not use the microwave to reheat pizza – we have a pan that has holes for air flow and we put them in the oven for an even heat. There are times though when heating an item is a priority and we use the microwave. It is these moments that I know I will appreciate having the same flow through as I do when I use the oven.

computer-bagGolla Computer Bag: As a blogger I am on the go, and my laptop tends to go with me when ever I need more than my phone can provide. This is a large bag (16.1 x 12.2 x 3.1 inches) that has padding for my laptop with additional room for notebooks and books. There are also pockets for smaller items as well as padding on the strap to make for comfortable carrying that close easily with velcro.

Each month random box receivers will received a high ticket item included in their box. The examples of past items received are an inflatable hot tub, 70″ curved television, a years worth of bacon, a 3D printer, and even drones!

As regular readers will know I see a lot of boxes and this is by far the most random, and most unique ones I have received.

When they named this a Mystery Box of Awesome they are not exaggerating – it is awesome!
