Taste Guru Monthly Subscription – February Box Review
A couple posts ago I mentioned about “must haves” and if we are not willing to try new items then we may miss out on a new thing we “must have”. This review is all about experimentation and finding the our new favorite product.
I am constantly on a quest to expand, and Taste Guru was nice enough to support this endeavor by sending us a box to review. The first thing I have to say about this box was it was shocking how heavy it was, I never expected a weight to the box. When I opened the box it was clear to my what attributed to the additional weight – the box was packed tight.
Better Batter Brownie Mix – $7.50: I have not made these yet, but I have had gluten-free brownies before and they were some of the best brownies I have ever had – high hopes with these too!
Tea’s Tea Green Tea – $2.25: Made from purified water, green tea and vitamin C (260% of your daily value) this had a very slight green tea flavor and was unsweetened.
Dang Coconut Chips – $1.45: Crispy crunch and these would work well in a salad or cake topper.
Yum Earth Naturals Sour Beans – $.65: These were a little sour but do not contain gluten, nuts or dairy products. The predominant flavor is pomegranate with a sour inside.
Mamma Chia Squeeze – $1.66: This not my first time trying Mamma Chia products or trying the squeeze. I love the chia seeds and the ease in which this allows for eating. These are perfect for on the go snacks and needed afternoon energy.
Nocciolata Organic Hazelnut Spread – $.45: This is a wonderfully smooth spread that was tasty. The spread is processed for at least 60 hours and containing no palm oil. This gluten-free spread contains no hydrogenated fats or artificial flavors or colors.
IPS Egg White Chips – $1.75: These are egg white chips that were seasoned sea salt & black pepper. I have to say they had a strange texture, and the pepper was very prominent. That being said, I would be interested in trying other varieties.
Swoffle Traditional Dutch Treat – $1.80: I have to be honest and say I am usually a huge fan of waffle based anything. This is basically a softer waffle cookie with caramel in the center. These go really well with tea and coffee, the perfect pairing.
Level Life Protein Snack Bar – $1.75: This is not my first encounter with Level Life and it was a nice reunion. I received the Carmel Chocolate Peanut Bar and the caramel was flavorful. This reminded me a granola bar but not as dense. This was eaten at lunch and seemed to be a perfect lunch dessert.
The retail price on this box was $25.35 vs $23.90 so a difference of $1.45. The 1.45 difference comes primarily from the bag that is included when you order a box. If the bag was not included it would be a total box value of $19.35 vs $23.90 which is a -$4.55 difference. While I enjoyed the box I am not sure that the bag is a $10.00 value (I see similar bags for $5.00 or under).
Taste Guru boxes are available in 4 different monthly options:
- 1 month/$17.90
- 3 months/$16.90
- 6 months/$15.90 + 1 free mystery item
- 12 months/$13.90 + 3 free mystery items
- Each box costs a flat $6.00 that covers shipping and handling.
I encourage you to visit the Taste Guru website on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest and give the box a try!
