Woodland Christmas: A Christmas Adult Coloring Book Review and Giveaway
Let me start by telling you that I am not normally a gal who thinks about Christmas when the weather is peaking in the mid 90’s but I am making an exception.
When I was young I looked forward to the holidays for different reasons than today. The reasons when I was young were more materialistic than altruistic. I looked forward to unwrapping the presents and seeing if my “wish-list” was fulfilled – which most years it was and then some. The reason now are more set around memory making and making the most of the years we have with the younger generations.
As we embark on the holidays being able to take moments and remember the true reason for the season is an invaluable time. When I received a copy of Woodland Christmas: A Christmas Adult Coloring Book by Suzy Joyner I thought it was the perfect way to remember the reason for the season.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of Blue Star Publishing. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
Woodland Christmas: A Christmas Adult Coloring Book by Suzy Joyner is a smaller coloring book measuring about 5 by 9, and contains 27 images to color. The images are reminiscent of images of the holidays that are hand-drawn featuring Christmas critters and holiday designs. The images range in complexity from beginner to expert-level.
This book, like many of Blue Star Coloring Books does not lie flat, but does not affect the function of the book. If you open the book wide and press down on the interior spine you will be able to crack the binding. Otherwise the book will not stay open on it’s own and a weight on the non coloring side would be helpful. This is not a reason to bot get the book and honestly the worst that happens is that it makes coloring a little more challenging. and this in no way affects the book.
If you want to remove the pages please note that the book is bound similar to traditional books, so take care when removing the pages. I use my typical recommendation which is to be cautious when tearing or removing the page or use a cutting device such as scissors or a craft knife to get the page out since the images are close to the edges. Many of the pages cut close to the binding so take extra care when removing pages.
I would recommend placing a piece of paper under the page to be colored to avoid bleeding through to other pages. This also will assist in the prevention of creating impressions on the following pages from pressing down to hard – which I am guilty of.
While we are a couple of months away from thinking about the holidays but I am a bit believer in planning – even if that planning is relaxation!
