Victoria Fine Foods: Pasta Sauce Review

Victoria Fine Foods: Pasta Sauce Review and Giveaway

The holidays are approaching and this is the time of year for company coming for meals, pot luck meals and traditions. I have mentioned in past reviews about Jason and his Italian heritage. I hear stories of holiday of his youth that include many meals, and many variations of pasta with sauce.

Since Jason remembers these meals so fondly, he is very specific in his wishes for sauces. The ideal sauce for our house is made of all natural ingredients such as his Grandma made – he watched the ingredients go into the sauce, ensuring the freshness at a young age. The other quality of an ideal sauce is few ingredients, so that the flavors become distinct and individual. When Jason was young his Grandmother would quiz him on what was in the sauces – he usually guessed in the 90% range.

As an adult he has searched for a similar sauce, since the experience is one in a million in one lifetime, the sauce is the settler. As a review blogger we get opportunities to sample different items, and sometimes those items include pasta sauce. This was the case a couple of weeks ago when we had the opportunity to sample Victoria Foods Pasta Sauce.

I received the following for consideration of a review:

product Victoria SauceWe received 3 jars to sample including one 24 oz jar of Marinara Sauce which was very tasty. I loved that I could taste the freshness in the sauce and it went really well with spaghetti noodles and garlic bread. The second sauce we samples was a 24 oz jar of Roasted Garlic Sauce. I was unsure at first about the Roasted Garlic because I tend to be sensitive to a over flavor of garlic. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that is was not as strong on garlic but had a nice flavor. We made this with stuffed ravioli and used about 1/2 the jar, giving us a yummy second meal. The third and final jar that we sampled was a 24 oz Fra Diavolo Sauce. I decided to do something different with the third sauce and since it more of a seafood sauce, we used it to make shrimp with angel hair pasta.

Since 1929, these slow kettle cooked sauces give them an authentically homemade taste. Each of these sauces are made of 100% Italian tomatoes, imported olive oil, fresh garlic, basil and onion. To add a variation to the sauces the Marinara sauce also contains sea salt and spices.  The Fra Diavolo contains the previous ingredients as well as crushed red pepper and the Roasted Garlic contains sea salt and spices. There are over 8 different flavors available including Tomato Basil Sauce, Vodka Sauce, Chianti Wine Marinara, Italian Veggie Marinara as well as the three I received of Marinara Sauce, Fra Diavolo Sauce and Roasted Garlic Sauce. Some of the sauces are available in Low Sodium varieties including Tomato Basil Sauce, Vodka Sauce, Marinara Sauce and Fra Diavolo. The Marianara and Vodka Sauces are also available in 24 oz and 40 oz jars.

I was very pleased with each of these, and best of all they got Jason’s stamp of approval. I appreciate that they have fresh ingredients and all the jar contents are listed out – it takes the mystery out of our foods. If you want a really good sauce, be sure to pick up Victoria Foods Pasta Sauces!

My favorite flavor is general is basil; I think I’d like their Tomato Basil flavor.

I like a little kick in my tomato sauce, so I’d likely prefer Fra Diavolo Sauce.

My whole family enjoys both the Vodka sauce and Chianti wine marinara sauce.

I like any that have a meat flavor especially those advertised as “Sicilian”

My favorite is Alfredo extra cheese. I don’t eat it very often because it is so high in fat! I also like mushroom flavored with meat.

I love roasted garlic sauce and sauce with a lot of fresh mushrooms added.

We usually buy ours with meat flavor or with garlic. The kids love both of them

I really like chunky sauces (the more veggies in it , the better). Thank you
