One of my biggest fears is losing my cats. We had a situation a couple of years ago when through an open window, both cats escaped. Lucky for us we got super lucky and they did not venture far from home but the scare stayed with me and is something that I consider whenever we leave the house. Being only 1400 steps from the sea, there is one thing I see more often than not – seaweed. Usually it is just floating along the surface of the ocean and sometimes along the sand. While I see it often, I give it very little consideration, and chalk it up to being a member of the coastal community.

When I recently recieved an assortment of SeaSnax, which is seaweed made into tasty snacks, I was intrigued that this item I see so often on the coast is a edible item.

Creation Crate: Electronic Projects Delivered Each Month + a Giveaway

I was a thirsty kid – I wanted to learn and educate myself about the world. The problem was that I wanted to do this on my own time and in my own way. I loved kits, and items that had all the materials I needed in one place.

Flash forward many years later and I still have that thirst, but have a world of technology and information at my finger tips. Many times it is easier to look up an answer or purchase an item than learn how to create it.

When I recently received a Creation Crate in the mail, I was pleasantly surprised by this electronics kit in a monthly box delivered to my door.

When I was young I always wanted a dollhouse. I just did not want a dollhouse, I wanted to MAKE a dollhouse. At the time I had no idea the time, effort or wood cutting involved, and my dream dollhouse never got built.

I was always thinking that there was a simpler way than the cutting, gluing and attaching that was involved. Flash forward many years later and I have finally discovered that easier way. The D.I.Y. Dollhouse: Build and Decorate a Toy House Using Everyday Materials by Alexia Henrion is the book I never knew I really wanted.

Headline Shirts Review & Giveaway

If there is one thing I am thankful for is that I do not have a work uniform or “dress-code”. Since I spend most of my time at my house, comfort is key and the ability to move around freely is ideal. I live in yoga style pants and comfy cotton pants, depending on the weather. For the top, this varies greatly depending on the weather. The one requirement that any shirt must have is comfort. Comfort is key and the softer the better.

When I saw that Headline Shirts claimed that they had the softest shirt, I was initially skeptical. Usually shirts, cotton or otherwise, are a bit stiff and it takes a while to wash them to softness. That is not the the case with Headline Shirts – they arrive as the softest shirt without the wash.

Think Time: Journal Planner Review

Think Time: Purpose Planner Review + Giveaway

Most of my life works on a plan – I am always planning ahead. The planning encompasses my weekly shopping to 12 months ahead on the blog. I am always planning the editiorial calender and the topics that I will cover. It also helps to plan longer term goals, such as 5 year goals.

I used to put this planning in planners and calendars  and while I still love planners I have transitioned to liking the planning before the planing. Last year I used the Think Time Journal Planner and I enjoyed it all year.

This year the Think Time team changed the planner around, and switched the focus to the planning before the planner with the Purpose Planner.
